This was so much fun!!!! We were transported to the glacier for our walk on top and in the ice caves. What an amazing experience! The weather was perfect: clear skies, sun and not too cold. The wind was epic, but it did not dampen our spirits. Our guides and drivers were professional and focused on safety for everyone in our group. There are food trucks, wc and a water filling station in the main parking area.

An absolutely stunning experience to see glaciers, icebergs, seals, and to go an amphibian boat.. so much fun and a life experience for memories to last a life time. We took 15 hour bus tour from Rekj. to get here (we also stopped at other spots) but this was definitely the highlight stop of the tour. To be honest I'm not quite sure going on a zodiac would be that much different in terms of experience. If you're on a tight time frame this would be the route to go. A tip- don't just the weather as it cleared up just in time for when we got there, so you just never know. And when you get on to the Amphibian boat head straight for the back corner as this is where you can get some great photo opportunities without other people in the photos.
Enjoy this place, you wont' regret taking the time to come here.

My visit to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon was a surreal journey into one of Iceland's most breathtaking natural wonders. Nestled between steep mountains and fed by the Vatnajökull Glacier, the lagoon is a captivating display of nature's grandeur. As I approached, the sight of massive icebergs floating serenely on the crystal-clear, glacial blue water left me in awe.

The sheer size and otherworldly shapes of the ice formations make Jökulsárlón a photographer's paradise. The lagoon's constantly shifting landscape, with icebergs breaking off from the glacier and drifting towards the Atlantic Ocean, creates a dynamic spectacle that evolves with each passing moment.

Taking a boat tour on the lagoon offered an up-close encounter with the ancient ice sculptures, revealing intricate details and shades of blue that are hard to capture from the shore. Seals lounging on the ice added a touch of wildlife charm to the scene.

While the beauty of Jökulsárlón is undeniable, the weather can be unpredictable, even in summer. Dressing in layers and being prepared for sudden changes ensured a comfortable experience.

In conclusion, Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Iceland, offering a mesmerizing blend of natural beauty, tranquility, and a glimpse into the dynamic forces shaping this stunning glacial landscape.

Beautiful scenery, fabulous colours of the ice and seals basking in the sunshine. We went in February. The car park and paths are like ice rinks, definitely need crampons.

Amazing tour! We had a wonderful time and were an impressed experience. The guide were very knowledgeable about Iceland and the glacier. He was funny and a great photographer. They provided proper clothes without extra charge. I highly recommend it.

By far one of the best experiences on our trip to Iceland! We choose to do the skiff boat tour, smaller boat but was able to maneuver through all the glacier icebergs. Saw so many seals and beautiful scenery in every direction! Our guide was very helpful and knowledgeable on the glacier. Highly recommend doing!

This was an awesome tour that was the perfect amount of time. Not too long or short. Our family lives in alaska, so we see our fair share of glaciers and icebergs, but this tour was well worth it for even us.

The guide was awesome and everyone was very friendly and the boat captain did a great job of letting everyone get the pictures they wanted.

Highly recommend!

Einar (from Glacier Mice) was our guide, and we could not have been more blessed. He had many great stories and was patient (we were stopping for pics every 30 seconds). It was kind and funny. The tour itself was perfect. 30 minutes off-roading to the parking stop where we were given our helmets and boot spikes, then we were off to hike the glacier.
Only took about 10 minutes from the van to the ice cave and an easy hike. I expected to be freezing and couldn't believe how comfortable it was. The colors of blue are surreal. It was absolutely a bucket list experience. Thank you, Einar!

Zodiac tour was excellent, but be there 30 minutes in advance like they say. Definitely worth it to do Zodiac tour over the Amphibian tour.

Although if you don't have a plan for eating during your day here, don't count on the cafe or the food stands for good food, just bring your own.

Toilets available, not sure about food and drinks because I didn't have it. Over here you can see the glacier lagoon and on the other side of the road it is the famous diamond beach.

Booked the zodiac boat tour on 1030pm but need to arrive 30min before the event to put on those safety gear the tour took around 1 hour which is really worth it as we get to see seals which chill on floating ice and many amazing looking iceberg. Went to the beginning of the glacier on boat which it looks magnificent from close distance and our guide tell story about those glacier lakes and how fast it has changed recently. The boat tour was fun and very beautiful when boat getting away from the shoreline. Recommend to get foods from those food trucks when lesser queue cos when close to lunch time is get really busier and I gave up to queue as it is too long the line.

Absolutely fantastic. We had a zodiac tour - it was excellent and our guide friendly and professional. Need to book in advance - so glad we did the zodiac tour and not the big boat. Do not miss this - once in a lifetime experience

Definitely a scene for professional photographers from different countries.
The nearby cave was a little small but very beautiful and the hike is easy.

Initially, thought that there were more people than seats while queueing but it seems that everyone managed to get a seat on the boat. However, seating was tight for sure, especially now when it is winter and everyone is wearing puffy coats. Good to queue early to board the boat. When the vehicle entered the water, we could stand around to take photos. Guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about sharing about glaciers. Also managed to see a lot of glaciers. Overall, a great experience and would recommend!

For me, it was one of the most impressive activities I have done during my visit to iceland. It's the start for many tours but even without a tour it's worth visiting as from there you can see the ice I the water swimming. It's such an impressive view with all its different colors of blue. There are so some little stands to get crepes or other snacks.

We wisely purchased our tickets in advance, and I'm grateful we did, as I heard from others who arrived without reservations that it was fully booked. We opted for the Zodiac boat tour, which allowed us to experience even more of the stunning glacier lagoon. Our guide was exceptional, providing in-depth insights into the glacier lagoon. I highly recommend this experience!

Jökulsárlón is a once in a lifetime experience that you shouldn’t miss. It is roughly 5 hours journey from the capital city Reykjavik. You can either choose to rent a car or maybe book a bus with any travel companies. The diamond beach is just a few minutes away from Jökulsárlón. If you’re lucky enough, you will also see seals taking a peek at the glacier lagoon. I went there for Christmas and it turn out to be the best thing that ever happened in my life.

Visiting this glacier was an awe-inspiring and somewhat eerie experience—one that stands out as the most breathtaking in Iceland. The colossal glacier resembled a frozen wave, evoking both beauty and a sense of unease in its sheer magnitude.

Anyone exploring Iceland must make a point to visit this remarkable natural wonder. However, a crucial tip: be mindful of parking fees, as Icelandic fines can be hefty. Additionally, it’s essential to note that this area prohibits drone usage, so respecting this rule is imperative.

In summary, this glacier, with its mesmerizing yet imposing presence, is an absolute must-see for travelers seeking Iceland’s most striking natural landscapes. Just be sure to follow the rules to fully appreciate its grandeur.

We took the zodiac tour and it was well worth the cost. It was a beautiful sunny day to ride a small boat through iceberg lagoon and get close to the glacier. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, plus the other two couples in the boat made for a fun time.
I highly recommend this tour and recommend the zodiac boat over the larger duckboat option. We explored more of the lagoon and had a more personalized experience than the duckboat group.

I strongly recommend booking an early morning tour time. The sun rises behind you as you explore the ice, making perfect lighting for viewing and pictures. Plus the crowds are less of an issue at that time. We had a 9:30 am departure time, it was perfect.

You’ll have to pay for parking so arrive early enough to take care of that.
