Restaurant had some of the best food the whole trip . Fresh ingredients, lovely presentation. The vegetarian dishes were fantastic. Great desserts

Stayed in the 2bed apartment and had lots of space to spread out. Clean, well stocked kitchen

There is fun museum on the premises, you check in in the same building. Don't be shy - go into the museum, that's where the check in happens.
Location is great, right on the ring road. Parking free on premises. My room was in a separate building about 200m away from the museum-dinner-breakfast building which I didn't mind at all. Entire hotel & room were quiet. My room was spacious, warm, the view from my room was amazing - sunrise over the ocean! <3
Dinner was nice. Food was delicious but don't make my mistake and order tea - you get free in the common area next to your room. Breakfast had varied options: typical for Iceland stays + some nice delicacies like meat pate, some jam & something else I don't remember but it was delicious.

Exceptional experience! Very nice hotel with all needed: it’s split into several buildings where each has 10-30 rooms and own lobby with free tea/coffee and fridge, some board games and TV. Powerful hairdryer in each room. Good soundproofing, spacious room, unfortunately not that comfortable bed and pillows. Central heating works very good even in summer. Fabulous breakfast.
Close to the major sights nearby.
Pay attention to dining hours. Dinner was a bit pricey, available until 20:30. Welcoming and helpful staff.

Fast check in and out at the reception. The rooms were spacious and clean. You can see the sheep just next to the accommodation. Breakfast was good. The hotel is also close to diamond beach so the view outside was great. Do note that the nearest grocery store and petrol is at least an hour and a half away. Our room was just next to the lounge where the shared TV and tea/coffee was. It got really noisy when big groups gathered there so much so that we had to tell them to lower their voices as we were trying to rest. Limited toiletries- bath soap provided.

The room and the facilities were perfect. The staff, specially the lady in the reception, were super nice and kind. The location is also great, it's very close to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and the Diamond beach. There is a free museum in the facilities very interesting as well.

A lovely room near the glacier lagoon. Nice clean rooms. Staff very friendly. A lovely free large continental breakfast with cured meats, cheeses, bread, pancakes, spreads, cereal, sliced fruit, veggies, sweets, coffee, tea which started at 7:30 and was wonderful to eat before getting back on the road. There is also a restaurant on site, which had a nice dinner with lots of local ingredients.

Hali Country Hotel and the team are just wonderful we stayed for 2 nights.

There is also a museum of the local area and local author.

Reception have a Northern Lights monitoring service on a screen and we also had our own apps and were fortunate enough to capture the Northern lights on our cameras dancing in the sky. It's a great position as there isn't much light pollution - the properties at the hotel do have lights on but you can easily move to a darker area near by as they own the land on either side.

We didn't stay at the hotel. We stopped to eat at the museum restaurant. The soul and fish was delicious. After the meal we walked through the museum and read about a local author. Loved this experience as well.

We stayed in cottage, very pleasant. What was outstanding was the breakfast, which was GREAT

We spent a night at Hali Country Hotel as part of our 2 week trip along the ring road. We picked it due to its excellent location - only 12 minutes from Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. Given the location we were looking for our options were limited. This is a clean, well organized, and well run hotel in the perfect location. The price is high - given the limited options for the region that’s not surprising. Our room and bathroom were clean and we had a lovely view of the ocean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was simple, it included with our stay. Dinner was not included - but there are no other restaurants for at least 30-40 minutes in any direction so it’s pretty much your only choice. The food was excellent (but expensive). I had the lamb and my husband had the arctic char and both were delicious. Staff were incredibly kind and welcoming.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel's cottage. It has an excellent isolation so it was very warm and quiet inside. The kitchen had everything you need to store and prepare food. The buffet breakfast was excellent with plenty of items to choose from. The staff was very friendly. This is the place I can definitely recommend staying at.

We stayed in a beautiful, clean and spacious hotel room with views of the mountains. The bed was comfortable with soft pillows and bedding, and the bathroom featured a piping hot shower- perfect after a cold day of exploring the Icelandic wilderness, and Diamond Beach. Buffet breakfast featured an extensive spread of continental breakfast fare, fresh fruit, and hot beverages. A lovely place to stay the night.

I ate at the restaurant but was not an overnight guest. The food was amazing. I had the daily special which was a Sheppard's Pie / Lamb Stew. It was the best lamb I had in Iceland!

This is the perfect location to stay to visit the Glacier lagoon Jökulsárlón, the Diamond beach and go on an Ice cave tour.
The service is good, happy people working there and good food.

Our group of 10 people stayed in the two yellow apartments! The were so beautiful. Really good location if you want to do different activities in the glacier area. The breakfast was amazing! They have a little museum and sell some souvenirs in reception too. Super convenient! And the staff was super attentive and friendly 👍🏼

Had an amazing stay here! Room was exactly as described, free breakfast was great, and the dinner at the restaurant was one of our best meals in Iceland! Every employee was so kind and accommodating. We had a great view of the northern lights from this hotel as well. 10/10, would stay again!

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at Hali Country Hotel. They were able to accommodate an extra night when we were unable to travel to another location due to weather / road closures. Room was clean and had everything we needed. The dinner our first night and the breakfast spread each morning were both very good, as well.

One of our most amazing experiences in Iceland. Room had its own bathroom and was clean, but the star of the show is the friendly staff and the incredible Thorbergur exhibition. It was very immersive, surprisingly informative and far surpassed expectations. The best place to stay in the east! (Note - photos are from exhibition)

Spacious room and gorgeous location amidst the mountains. Very close to the glacial lagoon and convenient pitstop after a glacial hike / boat ride. They also had a great spread for breakfast (complimentary).

This is an adorable family run hotel we stumbled into for coffee. The owner was super nice and answered all our questions about the area - he even wrote down the name of the Icelandic Elvis so we could buy a CD of his music. The cottages are adorable and we saw an outdoor hot tub. It's perfectly located between Reykjavik and the West Fjords. Beautiful, beautiful area. This trip we rented a camper van, but we absolutely plan to stay here the next time we come.
