Lake Braies

One of the most relaxing and stunning places in the Dolomites region. It is a must visit if you are near by. We visited it 3 months ago in September, it was a rainy day yet we had an amazing hiking experience despite the heavy rains. I had also a great chance to take dreamy photos for each spot there. In the second half of the hike, there are steps that going up and down, adventurous and fun for hiking lovers. Highly recommended.

Another lake with lovely and breathtaking views. You don’t need to hike to get to this place. You can drive and park at P4 or P3 which is nearer to the entrance of the lake. Go there early before 8.30am so that you are able to take good pictures with the boats. You will get the best view by climbing up to some rocks in the middle.

A beautiful lake in the Dolomites nestled between mountains with scenic photo opportunities. There is ample parking. We visited the lake twice so far. In summer (end of May through August) it is more crowded and the water level, depending on the time of the day, may make the beach not visible. In October it's less crowded and full of Autumn colors, also the beach may be more accessible. Boat rides, lodging and souvenir shops are all within walking distance of each other. A must see attraction when visiting the Dolomites! About 2h drive from Bolzano, Italy or Innsbruck, Austria and over 3h from Venice. Bus service is also available from Bolzano.

I am totally in awe of it’s beauty. The place is much more than the pictures on internet. Must visit and explore the ambience around and go for trekking around the boundary of the lake. Every corner is a story in itself.

Beautiful and atmospheric place. the boat costs 50 euros for 45 minutes, but they give two magnets .. in general it is not worth it. the toilet is paid - 1 euro, the check can be exchanged for a discount in a cafe. or you can immediately go to the cafe and then go to the toilet for free. parking, which is 15 euros nearby !!!! You can park the car almost before reaching and walk.

Most beautiful alpine lake! Also totally different in winter or in summer! We walking across the lake as it was frozen! Amazing!

IT SHOWS AS ROUTE CLOSURE ON GOOGLE MAPS BUT THAT’S BECAUSE YOU NEED TO BUY TICKETS IN ADVANCE TO ENTER THE PARK. Amazing place with beautiful views around the lake. There’s a path you can take to walk around the lake and appreciate different spots of its beauty. Along this path there some tables you can stop for a quick break and have some food. There is no WC along, so make sure to use the one before start walking. It took me about two hours to complete the hike with some stops for photos.

No words to describe it. The organisation is great. You must book in advance from june to September and on your booking you get a voucher to spend here if you like. Best to arrive early. Nice walk around the lake and alternative walking paths.

Wow wow wow. Definitely a must see. We went in the late afternoon when the crowds were leaving and then very early in the morning for our hikes. Beautiful emerald green water and you can also walk around the lake. Get there early before the crowds as parking get crowded

Beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. We loved the hiking there. Trails are easy but remember to book your parking spot in advance. You can boat in the lake as well.

You shell definitely purchase entrance tickets for the national park online in advance, apart from that the experience is total worth it. I also recommend to do the roundabout hike

Super picturesque lake nestled up amongst the mountains. This place is popular for good reason, and worth the drive. We arrived at 8:00 on a Monday in September and had no issues getting a parking spot ($7). After hiking the lake loop, there was a backup of 50+ cars waiting for a parking spot around 10:00.

We were very impresed by this lake, the view, the colour of the water, you can go and walk around this lake 20-40 min, you can enjoy a sandwich at the tail of the lake or go for a hike, everything was fabulous.

Get there at sunrise for easy parking and incredible photos while the lake is still flat.

The highlight of our trip- if you can I would try to go early morning and walk it twice! Morning view is so different from afternoon. Parking cost us 10 euros for 3 hrs I think. It was well worth it. I think it would be best to come when there are no boats in the water so early morning. Bring your swimming suit!

Perfect to hike at sunrise. Made it before the boat rental is opened, took private boat for €50 (+€20 deposit). Later enjoyed amazingly delicious cappuccino and croissants.

Absolutely wonderful lake, surrounding environment, peaceful. In reality it looks even more beautiful than in the photos. It takes an hour to go around the lake.Public parking is nearby €6 for all day.

Absolutely wonderful place and should not be missed during the Dolomites trip! This is probably the most beautiful lake I've seen. I would recommend taking the circle hike around the lake.
