A Bite of Italy

An above average Spar shop with a wide range of stock at very reasonable prices, the surprise is the 'Bite of Italy' deli counter inside, which offers superb meats, cheeses and olives, plus a fantastic menu of freshly prepared Italian sub sandwiches. This store was a great support for my Sorrento stay, offering all the rose, cold beer, and, my personal choice, Roma Sandwiches, at a third of the price of the hotel I was staying at a few minutes away, and twice the quality. Lovely people running this store too. Grazie!

Tasty, reasonable priced, big sandwiches with good service. It looks like a normal market outside, but has a fresh counter inside. They have salads too.

I wasn’t expecting much. I ate a huge extravagant 3-pasta course lunch from 2-5pm and thought I’d buy something (just in case I got hungry) for dinner at 10pm. I didn’t want pizza or anything since I was still full. I asked which sandwich to buy (pointing at the display) and was told to go for the Ham & Cheese (it was only €3.99). I brought it back to the hotel with a huge €1 sparkling water. The sandwich (and the shop) didn’t look like anything special. However, once I started eating the sandwich I couldn’t stop. It was so good! I’m not even a sandwich person but the mozzarella, tomato and ham just blended into a creamy yummy mix in my mouth. What a surprise! I’m so glad I stopped here instead of anywhere else. I might have to go back for more! It was definitely much better than any pizza.

We like our sandwiches and found this shop by chance as it was local to our hotel.
On the several occasions we have visited there, we have been very impressed with the quality (and quantity) of the sandwiches and the friendly attitude of the owner.
As one reviewer says, this place is a little gem.

was craving a sandwich after a long day in capri & searched on google for stores near me, found this place and it was a 25 min walk from my hotel and it was WELL worth it! the best sandwiches we’ve had, the guy behind the counter was so welcoming, funny and kind. i’m so happy we went & i’d recommend to anyone in the area. Best spot around!!!

Arrived in sorrento late at night when the restaurants were closing up , tired and hungry we came across this little gem of a shop , apart from it selling a wide variety of things it also sells the best fresh sandwiches in sorrento . With fresh gorgeous local produce we went back a few times within our holiday and even took them to the airport on our way home . Made up in front of you and with lots of choice to choose from you can’t get any better . The price is great and the staff are lovely would totally recommend.

The place is now co-branded as Spar but they still make those awesome sandwiches. I have stayed this summer across the road and they provided me the best sandwiches as breakfast before going in my day trips. Even now as I'm writing these lines, my mouth is watering to the taste of those sandwiches! From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Great sandwiches (panini) generous with meat and cheese, sliced fresh. Small but with sevicable selection of foods!

Ordered sandwiches here in the morning for Capri day trip and they were made fresh and tasty. Prices very reasonable and staff friendly.

Brilliant shop serving excellent sandwiches, refreshing drinks and a wide selection of good quality wines. We bought something from them almost every day & night.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
Recommend to anyone staying nearby, you won't be disappointed.

Super friendly and welcoming. Offered to make us a custom panini and added a decent amount of meat into it. Tasted great. Also got to sample some of the cheese and meats. We got some extra of those to go- along with some wine. Things were reasonably priced given its proximity to all the hotels. They take Visa.

Extremely friendly staff, made me a panini tailored to my tastes.

I simply said I liked pesto and sun dried tomatoes (pesto wasn't even an option) and the man made me a thick sandwich with six slices of prosciutto, provolone, tomatoes and a giant spoonful of pesto.

That sandwich was heavenly. Thank you!

Would you believe we remember this beautiful place from our visit in 2013. My partner said it looked like a jewellery store - with the beautiful display cabinets of the most incredible variety of food you could ever wish to see. We loved Sorrento - but we loved your beautiful food just as much. From Australia in 2020

Fantastic little shop apart from it selling a bit of everything it sells the best fresh sandwiches in sorrento , all with fresh local produce and made up in front of you , wide variety of choice and such friendly staff . Would highly recommend

Fabulous place and people! Deli counter and small supermarket where they will make up fresh sandwiches for you with local Italian meats, cheeses and herbs - also sandwich meal deals with crisps soft drink/beer or wine and small space outside to eat. Good value, Friendly service, Lovely people and family run - we ate here for lunch several times during our week's holiday - grazie mille 🍻
