Altarocca Wine Resort

Altarocca is truly something else! If you are searching for peace and calming down - this is your paradise. The rooms are so quiet and clean. Location is in the middle of grapewines and olivetrees. Two swimming pools with service. After 14 days stay here I can sincerely recommend this place to anyone.

We’ve been very fortunate to visit some amazing places in Italy, and Altarocca is right up there with the most special.
We could not get enough of that view.
We also found the staff to be incredibly kind and accommodating.

We will definitely come here again for the exceptional service, beautiful views, and great food.
Easy two hour drive from the airport with everything you need on property. Get ready to relax right into vacation mode.

Stunning place in a serene location. Me and my partner enjoyed the quiet and beauty of the surrounding nature while staying in this lovely resort. We also had a fantastic meal at the resort restaurant. It's a beautit place to base yourself for some of the nearby Umbrian sites such as Civita de Bagnoregio and Narni, while staying out of the hustle and bustle.

A wonderful and magical resort, located on a hillside with grape vineyards and a breathtaking panoramic view, the place is well-kept, the facilities are well-maintained, clean and well-equipped rooms, the hotel staff is wonderful!

Magnificent.
It was a real privilege to stay at Altarocca. The setting is beautiful, the hotel is great and the staff are magnificent. We enjoyed the restaurant so much it became our dinner destination. The breakfasts were delicious and the cheerful nature of the staff first thing in the morning, really set us up for another great day in Orvieto. We enjoyed Altarocca beyond anything we expected and look forward to staying there again. THANKYOU to all. You are magnificent.

The stag are all very warm and attentive and friendly. Our room was comfortable and had a great view of the Umbria countryside.
We also had the seven course taster menu which was really really good!
We would definitely come back.

Top if you want to stay in a hotel when around orvieto area. All is very well cared. Love the cleanliness, the views, the wines, the Spa, the personal is very educated towards all.... simply perfect. Also double swimming pool areas! The views are unbeatable. Enjoy breakfasts that are luxurious!

Wow! We absolutely LOVED Altarocca! Our first stop in Italy & we couldn't believe it was only 3 star. From the delicious white wine & snacks by the pool served by the wonderful Roberto, to the gym overlooking miles & miles of olive groves & vineyards it was truly wonderful. We wished we were there longer!

Outstanding !!! Breathtaking views, all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was excellent quality but maybe slightly limited for a longer stay. Rooms were great and lovely balcony settings. Would recommend to anyone.

Altarocca Wine Resort is a GEM!!!

I had the pleasure of visiting this resort with my parents and boyfriend and we had the most amazing experience! This resort is situated within a beautiful hillside of Orvieto, in Umbria on the border of Tuscany, Italy. They pride themselves on harvesting their own grapes and olives to make (lovely) wine and (AMAZING) olive oil! They also have an on-site restaurant that is staffed with a very knowledgeable staff, and an excellent chef!

Side note - we made sure to mention to the wait staff that my boyfriend has an allergy to dairy and eggs, and the chef/staff went out of their way to provide him a first course and dinner that was safe for him to eat.

The rooms at this resort are very lovely and comfortable, the staff is INCREDIBLY kind, and the view? Oh my goodness - you could stay at this resort and just sit on the hillside enjoying the lovely view.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a nice and/or romantic getaway. You will not be disappointed!

The resort is located at a magnificent location with an amazing view of the Tuscan area and adjacent hill top towns. Easy access to other near by areas such Bolsena and other Tuscan little towns. The quality of the rooms and services (employees) is superior. They provide all kind of services such as wine tasting, wine tours, spa services and couple packages.

However, there is one thing they did to make my stay an excellent one. I had an issue with my rental car, and they stay on top of everything; helping me with all the local calls, translation, recommendations and other issues I had with the car. They went above and beyond with the service, personal touch and helpful assistance. Special thanks to Ms. Jessica, front desk assistance! Without her help, things would have been extremely harder. Thank you, Jessica. You are the best!

This place was simply outstanding. We stayed in mid June and were lucky enough to be in the newly built part of the accomodation. Staff were amazing. Views cant be beat. Facilities were excellent. Restaurant was great. One of the best places we’ve stayed and we’ve stayed in a lot of places around the world. Hopefully we’ll go back one day. Grazie mille Alta Rocca!

Two large salt water pools, the best breakfast i have ever had, with awesome staff like Nina, Dida and Mirco, in-house baked croissants, fresh fresh juice, and dinner is Michelin-level. The vegetarian Patate with mustard seed and purple cabbage was so yummy, the Sesame crusted tuna was sublime, A sommelier will recommend the wines to you. Altarocca is 10 minutes from Orvieto. Big and comfortable room, equipped with a sauna. Service was okay. View were great and you can chill at the swimming pool

Beautiful landscapes, surrounded by hills and vineyards. The rooms are comfortable, modern and clean. Wifi signal was good. We stayed in the grechetto room and really enjoyed the gardens, with herbs and rosemary all around us. The pool has a nice location.
The food was very tasty but heavy (not enough lighter dishes for warm nights) and Roberto was excellent at helping us with drink pairings and giving special attention. Breakfast was good and varied. I tried the massage in the spa and was not impressed, very expensive and not great.

Everything here is breathtaking and breakfast was amazing. By far the best hotel breakfast we’ve ever had in Italy! Definitely worth every penny. Rooms are clean, homely and rustic. Staffs were pleasant, especially the Chef who was very attentive and checked on the guests during breakfast. Wished we could have stayed here a little longer.

PS: they do have wine tasting and food pairing in the hotel itself. Andrea who conducted the class, provided us a lot of information about their new organic wines. Absolutely marvelous experience.

The Altarocca is located not far from Orvieto in the countryside. It's a beautiful place surrounded by vineyards. The views all around are breathtaking.
The room was very well presented and comfortable.
We had dinner 2 night in the their restaurant which was also very good.
The restaurant, service, food and wine were very good. Beverage staff were some of the best I've encountered and we travel frequently. 10 out of 10.
