Ristorante Il Cocco

The best meal we had on our entire Italian adventure. And it was an accidental discovery. The gnocchi was potato perfection, they melted away on your tongue. And the wild boar, simple but awesome. Halfway through our meal we switched plates so we both could enjoy these great dishes.

We were told by two different individuals to go to this restaurant, so we did. We had a great dinner. I took a local special, pigeon. The thought of eating pigeon was weird, but after trying it for the first time, I would definitely recommend it. Our waiter was very helpful in helping us with selecting a red wine and adding a local drink called L'Orvietan.

I highly recommend for an authentic italian dinner. The quality and service is great and the cost is very reasonable.

For wine, we tried a red recommended by the waitress, a moscato 🙌🏻 (my favorite) and a dessert wine which all were wonderful. We enjoyed a variety of pastas. For the main dish, I had chicken breast with almonds. It was probably the best chicken dish I had out of 3 other restaurants in Orvieto. I would suggest making reservations to guarantee your table. But definitely make this a food stop on your trip! 📍

The food was delicious, some of the best we have had in Italy. The waitress (I think her name was Alice) was lovely and made the evening very enjoyable! We will be returning

Excellent. Local people and dishes, excellent service and first rate food more on the posh side. Not cheap, but worth it. I had the pigeon with olives - excellent. Terrific staff and food was beautifully presented.

This is a truly authentic place, offering tasty regional specialties such as truffle pasta. My favorite: "Umbrichelli al Cocco", the incredible signature dish, pasta prepared with porcini, truffles, and salsiccia. Delicious. Service, seating, and wine are equally fine. We'll be back.
(We had tried four other restaurants that had received good ratings on the Web—and generally food in Orvieto is quite good—yet, "Cocco" clearly stands out).

Excellent pasta with truffle, mushroom soup, and tagliatelle con funghi and tiramisu. Attentive service, elegant atmosphere. Would definitely go back.

Delicious traditional dishes. We enjoy a 3-course meal with wine, dessert and coffee. The tiramisu was classic and peach mousse was out of this world.

Extremely delicious food. Kind waiters and owner. Good wine. I recommend this place toi everybody. It's also important that off you eat here you support a local family.

We enjoyed dinner here our first night in Italy and Orvieto. It was just the kind of dining experience we were hoping to find - a warm and welcoming restaurant with a menu featuring the food and wine of region. Service was professional and thoughtful. We came back a second night during our 4 night stay.

This restaurant is the best in town! We went there for lunch and dinner, the pasta dishes are great. And the veal... We had the owner Giancarlo serve us. He was very nice as well. Order the pasta that comes with truffle sauce, the veal and the pigion dish. Delicious primi plates. Can't wait to go back!

This place is packed with locals. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. My girlfriend had the chicken with almonds and truffels which was, not kidding, one of the best dishes we have had. It was a total explosion of taste.

This is a wonderful place to eat. The umbrichelli al tartufo (pasta with truffles) is amazing. The staff is very friendly and treats all customers as they are guests. I highly recommend stopping here.
