Etruscan Museum "Claudio Faina"

Another of the sites included with the Orvieto Carta Unica. A collection of Etruscan artifacts began by Count Faina has become a formal museum. A large collection of coins is displayed in several galleries, as are earthenware items.

The Civic Museum of Orvieto is also housed here on the ground floor.

Much of the building has accessibility elements for wheeled travel (walker, stroller, wheelchair) - an elevator and ramps.

A quiet, peaceful visit was our experience. Steps from the Duomo, it's really worth a stroll across the piazza.

Beautiful quiet space which is well laid out and has some nice views upstairs. I came to learn more about the Etruscans and their history. Very little in English about them, mostly they discussed who the museum founders were, why and how they chose to display their works, which span many centuries and cultures.

Gave them 5 stars for kindness above and beyond. Left my Rx sunglasses in the museum and they emailed me and set up a service they could use to mailed them back.

I loved the museum! It’s small but mighty. It has a wonderful collection in a beautiful setting. And it was not crowded at all. And the view out the window seeing the Duomo is a highlight in itself. There are also gorgeous Etruscan vases, as well as a wonderful coin collection. I do wish there was a bit more information about the history of the work itself.

Located on Piazza del Duomo, opposite the cathedral. Etruscan and Hellenistic works. Many Etruscan pieces and a floor of coins.

Very good museum experience. The tickets are only €6 and the museum is very well laid out. There are plenty of interesting ancient artefacts and I learned a lot about the Etruscans

Outstanding Etruscan collection. Wonderful. As a bonus the view of the Cathedral from this museum is incredible! Highly recommended.

Great place really good size to just spend time contemplating history

Am Domplatz direkt, Tickets beim Eingang, für Behinderte mit Ausweis kostenlos: reich ausgestattetes Museum, mehrere Stockwerke zeigen die Schätze, Skulpturen, Sarkophage, Gegenstände, Fresken der Etrusker und ihrer hohen Kultur. Mit Filmen, Schulungsraum, Infos. Ich bin begeistert!

Il Palazzo che accoglie questa stupenda collezione, è un gioiellino, in stato di conservazione eccellente, la vista sul Duomo, poi vale la visita ... La collezione di monete romane di ampio spettro temporale è molto interessante. La raccolta dei reperti archeologici Etruschi è molto ricca e ben esplicata. Nei giorni della mia visita era ospitata anche la mostra "La fabbrica del corteo", in riferimento ai costumi del corteo storico. All'inizio della visita c'è la sala didattica, dove c'è la presentazione del palazzo e della collezione, interessante e stimolante input per iniziare la visita.

I conti Faina vanno ricordati perché Hanno creato questa bellissima collezione, creando così una struttura museale. I pezzi in mostra sono bellissimi. Ci sono alcuni prezzi nelle bacheche caduti o non posti correttamente, qualche mancanza nella descrizione delle bacheche. Consiglio vivamente la visita e consiglio di uscire sul terrazzo panoramico dove si gode un punto di vista unico sulla piazza.

Un bel museo ubicato proprio di fronte al Duomo, figlio della collezione organizzata dai conti Faina nella propria abitazione, nella seconda metà dell'Ottocento.
A parte l'enorme raccolta di monete romane, presenta statue di ogni fattezza e molte eccezionali anfore greche, di rara bellezza.
Mi pare un pò poco frequentato e che non si riesca a valorizzare il complesso.
Se si va a Orvieto non può mancare un sua visita

Bel museo, interessante con oggetti che non si vedono da tutte le parti, con vista frontale sul duomo.

Veramente un 'esposizione interessante che racchiude reperti di varie epoche ...spaziosa e con vista sul duomo di Orvieto.

Una bella raccolta con tanti elementi da osservare. Il top è stato che siamo potuti entrare con il nostro amico a quattro zampe. Consigliato.

A parte che da questo museo si gode una spettacolare vista del Duomo, nella piazza stessa due bellissimi musei ricchi di reperti nel ricco territorio di quella che fu considerata la capitale federale dell'Etrurioa (su questo argomento esistono discussioni), ma per chi ha visitatao il territorio ed è a conoscenza dell'arte etrusca proveniente dalle necropoli , anche di quella del crocifisso del tufo) è il luogo da visitare senza tralasciare il museo nazionale etrusco nei locali adiacenti il duomo.

Museo ben tenuto e molto interessante: merita una visita..tra l'altro, è uno dei migliori punti di osservazione del Duomo..fotografi avvisati, tenersi pronti con il grandangolo

Un museo meraviglioso con ceramiche etrusche di vero pregio!
La parte numismatica poi é veramente particolare e affascinante!
Sicuramente da visitare!
