Like being invited to a friend’s kitchen… a very talented friend. The spinach ricotta ravioli made with fresh pasta and topped with a delicious ragu was my favorite!

Unlike with quiet city, I can feel enjoyful with local people. I wanted to say thank you to chefs and manager for good service and food! I strongly recommend this place as you come Orvieto!

As a group of 6 we really enjoyed our evening, fantastic value dinner, wonderful homemade pasta,real local feel about the restaurant with the majority of dining being Italian.
Chilled beers good local Ovieto wine and freshly homemade tiramisu.

We had a lovely evening at this delightful restaurant. The owner was very kind even though we spoke little Italian it was appreciated. We ordered the famous spaghetti carbonara and it was absolutely delicious. Totally deserving its reputation. Tiramisu dessert was delicious as was the dessert wine. Overall a magic evening in an authentic setting. Thank you Mezza Luna.

I've got to add to the praise here - If you want a straight up, no frills, honest and delicious spot in Orvieto, this place is incredible.

Their carbonara lived up to the hype. I'm not Italian, but have eaten it in many places, make it often, and am a fan of similar /adjacent pasta dishes (ex: alla gricia). This is the best I've had anywhere. Impressive richness and depth of flavour, amazing seasoning and peppery flavouring of the pork. This dish is one of the highlights of our 3 weeks in Italy.

Though the carbonara was the standout, we also enjoyed their other dishes, including grilled sausage, fried greens, and veal scallopini al limon - All honest and good food. The veal was as unfancy and straight-up as it gets, yet it reminded me of the way my grandmother made it when I was a kid. The last thing I expected was a wave of nostalgia, but there it was.

Their panna cotta for dessert was delicious. Good house wine, good espresso and caffe correto. It checks all the boxes.

As a tourist, don't expect much english or outwardly cheery service, and but it's worth putting in the effort even if it's out of your comfort zone. This is a popular place with very few tables, and when we went the first time, they were booked solid, and so we asked to reserve a table for the following night, and boy were we happy it worked out. On top of all this, the prices were incredibly reasonable for the quality. This place is a gem.

By far my favorite food in Italy. Tastes like home, feels like another world with the atmosphere and the wine was cheap & wonderful for the price. Get the pork cutlet!

This is the place where I had the best spaghetti alla carbonara ever! On the menu is clearly stated that this is the best choice you can do but...the reality beated every expectation ! It's a small family-run restaurant with a nice and friendly atmosphere

I'm living in Rome for a year now but I have to say that they have the best Carbonara I ever had!

A small trattoria , a bit hidden in a corner. But don’t be fool by its humble look, the food here is superb! Spaghetti alla carbonara with guanciale- top flavors and big portions (has to ask my bf to help a little) at very honest price. Book in advance because this place is almost always full. Highly recommended!

We stumbled upon this place. There is no sign out front. We were hungry and decided to check it out. Had we been there a few moments later, there would not have been any room. Most tables were reserved for lunch on this Saturday. Shorty after our arrival, it was full of the locals and the owner(?) was turning people away.
I just had anti pasta dishes - bruschetta, cheese and prosciutto, while my wife had the carbonara. Servings were large, but even after eating all that I ordered, I still ate the remainder of my wife's pasta. Everything was great.

This place is everything and more then we expected, Owner seated and served us, made us feel like we were eating at his home. Ok.. Pasta Carbonara absolutely fantastic do not need to say more.. Do not miss this place when in Orvieto. Just ensure you make a reservation.

The best gnocchi I have ever ordered in a restaurant—the ragu was so authentic— basic and meaty and delicious—and the pasta was creamy and potato-y. Even tho they do not “dig” their gnocchi, doesn’t matter—the texture was perfect. Tasted just like my grandmother’s—which I have been searching for since 1993 when she departed—and tonight I found it!!! Will be carrying this culinary experience with me for a long time.

Good food and good servings. The owner also went out of his way to serve me, even though the table was reserved. Earned his tip!

Fabulous, zero pretentious and authentic. Male sure to book ahead of time because it fills up and there's only 10 tables.

We really enjoyed this place. It had a mix of locals and tourists. The host/server was patient and answered our questions, despite our extremely limited Italian. Also, unlike many of the restaurants in Italy, the menu didn't include many pork options,which was great as my wife doesn't eat it.

This is some of the best pasta and bruschetta we have ever had. We loved it so much we went back a second time. Their cheesecake is light and beautiful in the mouth.

Charming, hole in the wall trattoria with an extensive menu of regional specialties at remarkably affordable prices. We shared a crisp, fresh mixed salad then my friend chose the signature dish of spaghetti carbonara which was delicious (not like the Roman version, but Umbrian style) and I was delighted with my grilled local beef. We also shared a bottle of local Sangiovese wine which complimented our meals at a bargain price. Our dining was topped off by selections from their dessert menu.
We were the only foreigners in this neighborhood trattoria and we enjoyed people watching while the owner/operator provided swift and attentive service.
If you are looking for local, regional specialties, prompt service and excellent food at reasonable prices I highly recommend Mezza Luna and suggest you make reservations.

Off the beaten track. Cozy place in the medieval area. Rustic atmosphere. Filled with locals. Abundant dish of delicious Spaghetti Carbonara served piping hot. Very reasonable prices. Grateful they were willing to seat us, even though we made the mistake of not making reservations (on a Saturday night)!
