Patris Ovieto has the most beautiful Olive wood pieces you will find. Ian is super helpful in person as well as via email. We bought some things in persons and decided to add more after we got back home. When he shipped the items they came in 1 week well packed and in perfect condition, the pieces as beautiful as the ones we selected in the store. The prices are reasonable and so much better than in the US. Ask Ian about his special tasting spoons, they are unique.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, and there is world-wide shipping at very reasonable rates. Easily the best shopping experience of our recent visit to Italy.

When you first walk in, the place is full of the charm with lots of unique and special items all made from olive wood. From lamps to cutting boards its all there however the most unique part of the store is the owner, Umberto. Umberto is a gentlemen and a master craftsman with a small satellite shop in the back of the store to compliment the larger wood shop outside the city's walls. If you are looking for a true artist of wood this is a must stop when in Orvieto.

I rarely give a place 5 stars because to me that means perfection. This place is as close to perfect as one can be. The proprietor is very friendly, animated and knowledgeable, and the olive wood pieces are of the finest quality. As a fellow woodworker I had a very interesting conversation with the proprietor about wood types and woodworking and I purchased a beautiful goblet and spoon.

Excellent craftsmanship, Noguchi/Brancusi inspired lamps from olive wood — each one is unique. They are basically sculptures.

Highly recommend visiting this store - the owner has a passion for his work and that passion is viewed in each piece he makes. We found many great gifts here that were not touristy junk.

Beautiful store hidden at the top of a “time stood still” alley. Talk to Ian, third generation wood worker. Very friendly and a true craftsman!
