Absolutely the best hotel in ALL of Europe.

You could not pay for a better view. The pool is heated and offers amazing views. You can jump off the dock into the lake and I just am having a blast. I’m writing this review like 4 hours into my stay here… It’s that amazing. Well worth the price and it’s KIDS friendly! 10/10 stars.

The staff is AMAZING. This isn’t like a regular hotel where you check in. The experience was so different from anything I’ve experienced and I’ve been to quite a few nice hotels. Well done.

Loved every minute of our weekend here. Service is what makes it exceptionally good. From helpful response to emails before our trip, to use of a loan wheelchair and a room located near to the lifts, staff go above and beyond. Rooms are very comfortable and lake views to die for. Room has everything you need and if it doesn’t, just ask (husband forgot shaving foam). Restaurant is worth visiting if you’re staying over but is definitely not the usual Michelin standard so I wouldn’t go out of your way to eat there.

Best hotel in the World! I stayed at Il Sereno and it was the best experience ever. I travel in the most beautiful hotels but the service here was exceptional. From the room service to the pool. Special thanks to the guest service, they made my stay unforgettable. We will be back.

if you’re looking for hotels around Lake Como, I highly recommend staying at il Sereno. This place is just top tier. We stayed at one of their lake view rooms and it was just spectacular. We also rented their “jetto” and drove it ourselves around the lake.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout the stay and they definitely made our stay even more special.

We stayed in Il Sereno for just one night which turned out to be our favorite night out of 9 days throughout 4 cities in Italy.

Il Sereno surpassed our expectations, the staff were super professional, the rooms were beautiful, and the view just breathtaking.

We did the Jetto experience which was quite magical once we found the waterfall 30 minutes away from
the resort.

Prices a bit high but fair to the service provided and the professionalism.

Set menu at their in house restaurant is not for everyone… But next day’s breakfast made up for it.

Quite simply a true 5 star hotel.

From the moment we arrived, we were whisked through a beautiful garden and walkway parallel to the lake.

Welcomed with a delicious cocktail we were pleasantly surprised with a 2 level room upgrade and a bottle of champagne. The room was breathtaking. Lake views, spacious, modern and very clean.

The pool is beautiful (and warm), the service impeccable, the people attentive to your every needs.

We rented a self drive boat for 1 hour for 200 euro, neither of us had boating experience but that didn’t matter. We were shown everything beforehand and got to see some incredible views of the local towns.

They also have an excellent spa which is free to use for guests, we enjoyed a sauna and jacuzzi.

The breakfast was nice, plenty of options to choose from. The only slight negative was the restaurant in the evening but I’ll leave that to a separate review.

Overall Il Sereno is a must visit when in Lake Como.

I had an absolutely incredible stay at Il Sereno on Lake Como. The views were simply breathtaking, and the service was beyond impeccable. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. The option to take boats out onto the lake added an extra layer of adventure to our trip. Moreover, the convenience of the car service provided by the hotel was a fantastic touch. We had the greatest experience here, and I can't wait to return to this stunning paradise.

The only hotel RIGHT on the lake which makes the experience even better. You can arrive by car or by boat.

A modern hôtel designed by the famous Patricia Urquiola. Super luxurious and they have high standards in everything. The room was super clean, the bathroom amazingly made and the beds were so comfy.

I would definitely come back again some day...

We did a tour of the lake where we stayed in 3 different hotels and we can’t recommend Il Sereno highly enough. The hotel is much more stunning in person. Beautiful setting on the lake, the friendliest staff, amazing activities (we rent a boat for 3 hours and drove it all over the lake) and great amenities. Rooms were large and all had a view of the lake. Breakfast was delicious. Nothing negative to say - a great hotel in Lago di Como and highly recommended.

Le Sereno is aptly named and the dining experience is excellent. Overlooking Grand Cul de Sac, with the nearly full moon rising over the bay, the ambience was as excellent as the cocktails, food and service (thank you Chiara). We dine there every visit. Not to be missed.

il Sereno was a beautiful experience for our group. The hotel is able to simultaneously stand out while still blending into the hills of Lake Como. Aside from the well-manicured gardens and sleek architecture, the hotel’s service was first-class. Outside of the hotel, inquiring about any reservation or detail was a seamless experience, while any internal activity was taken care of immediately and without any hassle.

Separately, we truly enjoyed the food and beverage of il Sereno. Bartenders created old-school drinks with a new-school twist, and the restaurant, managed by Mateo, was fantastic. While the restaurant management was new during the time of our stay, it was clear that the waiters, waitresses, and chefs all worked together to create a wonderful experience for its diners. The meals tasted and looked lovely - it’s evident that the chefs truly care about their food and it shows in the presentation and freshness of the food. I could not recommend this hotel and restaurant enough!

Tremendous experience at il Sereno!
The hotel is quietly tucked away in an amazing location right on the water which is exactly what we were looking for. The service level from every single staff member was great from the moment you entered to the moment you left. The rooms are probably the best in the industry, and the technology is great. The restaurant is really nice with creative dishes, making for a memorable evening. Depending on what you’re looking for during your stay in Como, you really never have to leave the facilities to enjoy yourself!

if you are looking for first class service, this is the place! service, location, ambience, i can go on and on...its all here. we had the most exceptional time here at the end of august, 2023. the staff pays attention to every detail from when you arrive to when you check out, like royalty. its. a must to visit if you want to stay in Torno, Lake Como.

We had the most exceptional experience at il Sereno. The hotel, location, and most importantly the wonderful hotel staff is perfection. We are so grateful for the warm welcome and the extra care we received during our stay. All of our expectations were exceeded and then some. There was so much attention to the finest of detail from check in to check out. We are already planning our return next year. Thank you for making our first, and definitely not last, visit to Lake Como magical.

My wife and I stayed for few nights at this gem of a hotel. We are big fans of Patricia Urquiola's design and this hotel serves up a masterpiece. The views are stunning, the design is gorgeous, the service is immaculate, well deserving the best hotel in Italy.

Pro top: Get yourself a car, driving around the area (esp to Bellagio) is memory for a lifetime and you don't have to rely on the sub-par restaurant in the hotel.

Few things to improve:

1. Weights in the gym: The gym has weights only upto 10kg, barely enough for anyone to get a decent workout. Please consider adding more weights.

2. The restaurant was perhaps one of the flavorless meals I have ever had. Aside from the view and design, the restaurant was a joke. For a hotel of your status, this was truly sub-par. Please get a new chef.

This is not a hotel, this is Il Sereno. One of a kind destination. It’s a 10 stars review from us. Staying with you made us think about building a house on the lake nearby, it tells a lot. Absolutely stunning experience.

We had a really lovely lunch here. The Michelin starred chef delivered on delicious pastas and dessert and the wine selection was thoughtful and fantastic. The hotel itself is gorgeous and incredibly chic and the view is amazing. Hopefully we can stay there on our next visit!

This hotel deserves a standing ovation - it’s an incredibly beautiful hotel in a beautiful location with an exceptional staff. We stayed here for a week and I would say it’s in the top 5 best hotels I’ve stayed in across the world both because each detail is so thoughtfully designed and because of the exceptional service team. The Il Sereno team helped me celebrate my husband’s birthday and I’d argue they did a better job than I did - he felt like a king the entire day! The only part of our stay that was just ok IMO was the food but others clearly disagree with us in the other reviews (I’m vegetarian but my meat-eating husband felt similarly).

A few pieces of advice when visiting Sereno/Como:

1. I’d highly recommend renting a car - you get (free?) parking as part of the hotel and Torno is a small town with limited ferry access. Having a car makes it much easier to visit the different towns and gives you much more flexibility for dinner. Taxis are very hard to find and we’re surprisingly expensive. We even tried the bus which is packed to the nines on low season.

2. The spa is reasonably priced and lovely. My husband got a massage and we used the sauna/steam room for several days (included in your stay!). This was a totally unexpected perk and a lovely way to get some deep R&R in.

3. If you want to experience the lake by boat, I’d plan a little in advance. The boats at the hotel require additional $$$ and are typically rentable in 1-4 hour slots. We didn’t really feel that was long enough to explore the other Como towns so if you want to spend the day hopping between towns, I’d look for a longer option.

TLDR - you won’t regrets staying at Il Sereno!
