Drogheria & Locanda Franci

I had dinner here yesterday and I could have dinner in special room that has wine storage.
it was so fantastic experience and best of best dinner in Italy. Their staff was so kind and I could try several Italian wine tasting here. And their food? sooooo perfect.

If you visit Montalcino, I absolutely recommend this restaurant.

Love the restaurant Franci. Chef knows his targets stuff and creates delicious food. Flavio knows the wines and creates a beautiful wine pairings and experience. Don’t pick wines. Ask Flavio to create a tasting experience. You will have never experienced one like he does.

Sara manages the whole thing so well. We will be back!

Great little boutique 'Locanda'. Conveniently and quietly located overlooking the Castle and its car park. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom great.

Giving this place 5 stars for the restaurant! Excellent wines, sommelier, food and service. Truffle gnocchi, T bone steak, chocolate soufflé were incredible.

Fabulous food, best we have had in Italy and elsewhere! Highly recommend the food and wine ❤

A beautiful stay! Our rooms were immaculate and charming. Breakfast was delicious. The views of the castle are amazing. Everyone that worked here was so kind and considerate. This will be the only place we stay when coming to Montalcino.

Thanks to the people operating the Drogheria e Locanda Franci has this place exceptionally good energy. Very nice and helping people, both in the hotel and their restaurant. Whenever we return to Montalcino, this will be our first choice!

A nice sweet place to stay 1-2 nights over. Room is sparkling clean, though, the shower is in the room but it is not a problem for us. Recommend for couples.
Restaurant that next to the room entrance is worth to try. Excellent staff with well knowledge with varieties of wine.

Amazing food, amazing wine (Brunello dated 2016), and amazing waiter - Flavio was EXCELLENT: accurate, nice, kind, he suggested us the perfect combo "food and wine"...and he's also a a super cool singer!

They weren't open yet but there was a young lady working inside. My husband went in and asked if they had any tables available that evening and could we have one with a nice view. She wrote something down and said we were all set for 7:30. When we returned, the gentleman working said we had the best seat in the house, which turned out to be the table in the room with the wine cellar!!! What a great surprise. The service we received was nothing short of spectacular and the dinner choices were simply delicious, not to mention the ambiance of the room. Definitely worth going to if you have the chance....

Okay I gave it 5 stars, because it was the BEST Michelan type restaurant we ate at in Italy (including the ones which actually HAD Michelan stars!) But... I loved it even more before it got bought by the new owner, and when they served more Italian style but THE BEST EVER Pasta Carbonara and the most Unforgettable Tiramisu I've ever had in my life. Still, really, really, really good, definitely make reservations there and also in the Castello wine cellar for lunch, when you are in Montalcino : )

Sensational food, the best I've had in italy. I had scallops and lobster pasta, my partner had rabbit and veal. We shared a peanut semifreedo with salted caramel sauce. Everything was exceptionally good, light, but plentiful. Beautiful little restaurant and wine seller.

The most interesting and delicious food in Montalcino. If you're looking for standard Tuscan fare this is not your place. But if you want amazing food that highlights the best of Italy's amazing produce, seafood and meat this is your place. Plus an amazing wine selection.

Incredible italian food and food presentation among hundreds of bottles of amazing italian wines (Brunello is a favorite), right across from La Fortezza at the beginni g if town. Highly recommend, especially in the top terrace.

Very friendly staff and great service! They do have a mixture of typical tuscan food and food from other regions. Do note that there is a cover charge of €2.50 per person.

Recommended to go here by Restaurante Arnolfo. Exceptional meal and wonderful service. The chocolate and passion fruit soufflé was the best desert of our holiday. Thoroughly recommend!

Wonderful find! Great food service and fantastic vino. We bought a lovely case of 2010 Riserva Franci Brunello.

Beautiful boutique hotel, nicely decorated and great location. Wonderful breakfast and lunch was delicious.
