Chef Adler perfects traditional Orvieto style recipes. Her herbs and spices are unique. The lemon chicken and umbrichelli with traditional ragu used were exceptional!

I’m so glad I found this place! They have historical recipes from the 15th and 16th centuries. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken with lemon and chestnut honey, a 16th century recipe, and it was soooooo GOOOOOD!! Absolutely delicious! And surprisingly filling.
The lady that served me, I’m wondering if she’s the owner, was so friendly and patient with everyone. Also the food was served very quickly.
Fast and friendly service along with DELICIOUS historical foods = perfection!
In all seriousness, I’m actually planning another trip to Orvieto from New York City just for this restaurant very soon. I need to try all the historical recipes they have!

A must try if you are in Orvieto! Went there for lunch, and the food was absolutely superb! My very demanding Italian husband is still raving about it. Recommend trying the truffle or porcini pasta and the herb roast beef (must have)! They offer some dishes dating back to 500s. The lady owner is amazing, very attentive and passionate about food!

The food here was absolutely amazing, and the most unique food I've had in Italy. I was only going to get a pasta, but once I started eating, I had to have more. It's so delicious. I can't recommend it highly enough! The red wine pasta was just spectacular!

Excellent dining experience. The owner is very knowledgeable and extremely passionate about the specialties and products of the region. Each plate is a feast of sublime flavours. Slightly over average prices but well worth the cost.

I took guests to this restaurant and it exceeded all of our expectations. Great traditional food capturing the essence of Orvieto! I was such an experience as the owner explained the dishes, the local herbs, local flavors and traditions. All the pasta is freshly made by hand and the beef was melt in your mouth. There are a lot of locals eating here and we were so welcomed with warm hospitality they even modified one of the dishes for my wife who is vegetarian. I’d highly recommend! We enjoyed dinner here in May, 2023. The service was impeccable. We enjoyed the unique pasta selection and two of the beef dishes that had historic background. The sauces on the beef was some of the best I’ve tasted. We sampled all three desserts of the day and couldn’t decide which one was best. Only wish is that we’d tried another dish or been able to return. Excellent dining experience.

We had the baffo appetizer and the porcini pasta and the carbonara truffle pasta (special). Everything was delicious and we enjoyed speaking with the owner. Go with her suggestions—you won’t regret it! Also, female owned, female operated. A quality meal and lovely experience!

Wonderful dining experience that combines tradition with creativity. The sheep's cheese plate had 5 different, contrasting cheeses. Ravioli with cacao had a wonderful orange zest for succulent deep flavors. Sharing three courses between us left room for delightful desserts. Worth a detour.

I had the Sweet and Sour Chicken (16th Century recipe) with Lemon and Chestnut Honey. Absolutely amazing. But I tasted several other dishes from my fellow travelers, it was all good! Thank you Duca staff and Chef!!

My feet were tired from walking the lovely, cobbled streets of Orvieto when I stopped in at Duca. It's a place you will want to have time to savour properly. The food is authentic and is based on recipes that go back for generations in Orvieto. My lunch was the best meal I had in Italy: ravioli with cocoa, orange peel and a slightly spicy sauce. I also had the pigeon--which people in Orvieto have been eating since Etruscan times--and a strawberry semifreddo for desert that made my toes curl it was so good. The room feels very homey and is one of the few places I've eaten where "home made" in a restaurant seems true.

I was so lucky to find this culinary gem. What I found was not just excellent, tasty food, but a passionate team of women making food based on centuries-old recipes. Do you want to find out what the Italian nobels ate in the 16th century, during the Renaissance? Well, here you can try it yourself. This is a unique experience not to be missed. And it's not just the food, but the warm and personalized service. They make you feel so home that you never want to leave. The young (and very beautiful) sous chef also speaks fluently English, and she provided great recommendations for choice of meals and pairings, based on your preferences. If you consider yourself a foodie, this is an absolute must when visiting Orvieto. I just hope they have a table for me, next time I'm in town!

Beautiful local restaurant we stumbled by on Easter Sunday and they happily made space for us hungry travellers. We had beautiful pasta and a selection of local small plates. Orvieto was stunning. Thank you !

Food is amazing! And just as amazing is the personalized service by the owner. She even gave us some peperroncini from her garden to take home.

Cozy, warm and nicely located, this restaurant offers stunning centuries-old cuisine from Central Italy and friendly explanations for every dish: totally recommended!
