I traveled with a group of 14 friends after a wedding and stayed at Hotel Continental and we had a lovely stay! Firstly the staff was incredibly accommodating, welcoming, and kind (and funny!). They helped to set up a special dinner for our group on the terrace for our last night which was so wonderful and the food was excellent. The location is also perfect and I’m so glad we stayed here in Santa Margherita vs Portofino. We were a short walk from the train, the docks and all restaurants and shops. Lastly being right on the water was a great bonus! Highly recommend!

I simply cannot say enough good things about this beautiful place. The views are stunning, there is private access to the water, and the food is fantastic.

And most of all, the people here are wonderful and the service is the best I have ever received! It was a rainy week and rather than leave early, I opted to stay because I didn't want to leave their warmth, cute sense of humor, and charming care.

Stay here and have the best vacation imagineable in the beautiful Santa Margherita Ligure. 💜

Having stayed at numerous 5 star hotels all over the world, I can confidently say that this is my new favorite. Every single detail about our stay from start to finish was absolutely exquisite. The service/staff were incredible. They were kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. The food was delicious. We also loved the location of the hotel, with the downtown of Santa Margherita being only a 5 minute walk down the hill. I wish I could live at this hotel! Can’t wait to return.

Stayed in one of their brand new suites. Everything and everyone was EXCEPTIONAL. Escorted to our room, tour of the grounds, free breakfast, valet parking, and dinner reservations. Food was amazing. Even the beach chairs and umbrellas set up to our liking. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed at.

This place is FANTASTIC. Kind’ve a hidden gem a short boat ride north of Portofino in Santa Margherita which, in our opinion, is a better town to stay in for multiple nights. The hotel views are incredibly beautiful, staff is very friendly and helpful, the private beach club is relaxing and gorgeous, and the air conditioning is strong and cool.

Hotel Continental is my favourite spot at Santa Margherita Ligure - Portofino. Excellent location, everything is great. The Marina and the restaurant “La Grigoa” are outstanding. The service of Antonio and his Team is first class and I strongly recommend to everyone.

Old world accomodation. Highlight of our week on the Italian Riviera. Private beach, terrace room with exceptional views of Santa Margherita, the sea. Ferry to Portofino and Cinque Terre, 5 min train/bus to Rapello or Camogli

I recently stayed at the Continental Hotel and had a fantastic experience! From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming and accommodating, and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel's gym facilities were a highlight for me, and I appreciated the range of equipment available for use. The hotel's location was also convenient for exploring the city. Amazing location and views, Hotel with traditional style and Italian charm, excellent service/staff, food and beverages incl. delicious breakfast (incl. gluten free options) with incredible sea view. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was also great! Directly on the beach with private access.

Amazing hotel in a beautiful location and view... From the first 5 minutes Sijin the gentleman in the front desk made our experience ten times extra special with his professionalism and welcoming vibe.. I'm such a critic and I don't usually give anything 5 stars but well deserved

The Continental is perfectly located just outside of downtown making it quiet yet a close walk to town. Nicely appointed rooms with awesome views of the Med. We found the service outstanding.

Superb location that is what define this hotel from the other. Though the tiny room (Garden view) was a bit "tired" and needs renovation specially squeaking bathroom door, we reserve quite positive impression and will be glad to come back. We admire the private beach (you pay separately for towels), beach restaurant where we had our best lunches through the stay. We found the mattress and pillows too rigid for us. Perhaps we lack such little things like ear sticks, cotton pads and hair conditioner in the bathroom but that you can always get from the nearest farmacia in the end. But the hole spirit of the hotel is absolutely nice.

Loved loved loved this hotel. The views from this property were outstanding and our room was amazing. The position of this property was great with a very short walk into Santa Margherita Ligure. Service fantastic and buffet breakfast very good and the staff were all super friendly. Private beach was beautiful as well. Will definitely stay again. Thank you for a great stay.

My wife and I have stayed at the Hotel Continental 4 times over the last 10 years and our latest was for 7 days from 28 Sept 2022.
From the moment we walk into this hotel we feel like we have come home.
The friendly greeting from Stephano and Daniella is the start of great holiday experience. We love this Hotel, location is superb, the rooms are tastefully furnished and the balconies are great for an afternoon reading before, going down for cocktails on the terrace.
Breakfast is amazing, Antonio and Lucca look after your every request, the Pool Bar is great for that relaxed lunch, and dinner is superb in the terrace lounge.
We will be coming back next year.

Close to the railway station and superb location, gardens, beachside restaurant, opportunities for swimming. Don’t understand the negative reviews about breakfast ( excellent) and staff ( extremely attentive and polite! ) and it’s standard to charge extra for a deck chair by the sea!

Spectacular hotel with amazing views. Just stunning. We loved the back area - which takes guests down to the ocean where there is a protected area to swim

The location of this hotel in Santa Margherita is the best - it has an amazing view of the port and the town from up a hill. The beach area is simply gorgeous with lounge chairs dotted up the hill and out on the rocks. We stayed in a junior suite with a massive terrace overlooking the bay for a really affordable price that included continental breakfast. Its not super luxury, but is exceptionally clean, staff is friendly and helpful and the beds comfortable! Is the location that takes it over the top - ensure you have a terrace and ocean view room! You can easily travel to Portofino (only 15 mins by bus or water taxi or ferry!). Cinque Terre is easily accessible by Ferry as well. The town of Santa Margherita is full of life and amazing restaurants and shops. This hotel is the perfect location for it all.

Great panoramic view from the rooms with sea view. You will certainly enjoy the sunset.
Magnificient self service breakfast at the terrace. Good suggestion for pizzeria restaurant from the reception. Typical Italian food at Ristorante Pizzeria dal Baffo.

Cannot recommend highly enough - close to train station - amazing views - short walk to town, restaurants etc and the most helpful and friendly staff … definitely be back despite it being slightly over our budget !
