Cantina Calcagno - Vini DOC dell'Etna

Very nice 1:30 h visit at Azienda Agricola Calcagno in Passopisciaro. Need to make a reservation (we did with Franco). Location of the “palmento” (traditional old winery) is not easy to find (even with navigation system) - suggest to ask for exact coordinates. We were welcomed by Giusy, 5th generation owner and daughter of Franco. Very sweet family and very personal tasting in the old palmento with excellent white and rosé as well as two reds. Small production, very pure approach to winemaking with respect to nature and terroir. Giusy is also offering outdoor pizza eatings upon request. If you are looking for personal touch, off the mainstream and quality wines - this is the place to go for. We loved the visit with the Calcagno family!

We had a very great time at this family place, were several generations are here to make you discover their products. Great hospitality and very good wines !
