Amazing place to enjoy a cozy lunch under a nice tree. The food is outstanding and the service very lovely.

Incredible wine and amaro tasting dinner with Sandro. Incredible dishes representative of the local cuisine and important local ingredients, as well as some beautiful wines and amari to complement them. Everybody was very friendly and welcoming, and they had great gluten free (celiac) options. Parking was very easy at an accessory lot behind/above the restaurant, there's a small sign on the cross street that may point you to it.

On the slopes of the Etna you'll find this amazing restaurant and wine bar. The owner has a passion for wine. It's almost like he is gifted with the ability to pick the exact right wine to go with your personal taste and the dish in front of you. The interior is rustic and kind of eccentric in a way. And the food is great too. All in all an exceptional experience.

If you’re driving around Etna, it’s worth seeking this gem of a place! We had amazing pasta for lunch here: Pasta alla Norma was wonderful and the creamy Pappardelle with Pistachio and Burrata is simply out of this world. Service was swift and super friendly. The restaurant has a nice terrasse but it’s equally comfortable and beautiful inside as well. Quick note: pizza is only served at night.

Had the most amazing sicilian dinner experience. The food was crazy good, really tasty and it came super fast! Really recommend! 🥂

Went for lunch and had the peasant and spring soup that were unique and tasty. Also shared the ghiotta cod. Very good. The bread was fresh with a nice crust. Ordered 2 glasses of rose from cantina etnella. The staff was very cordial and the outside dining was under a grape vine. We will return for another lunch.

Are you a wine passionate? do you wanna have the highest grape juice experience around the Etna? Well, cave ox is like Mecca for Muslims, Salomon temple for Jews, San Pietro cathedral for Catholics.... you must go there. Because of the food but overall because of the amazing, unique wine list

Husband and wife team up for fantastic experience. She handles kitchen and he the hospitality. Recommended the perfect wine with our luncheon. First rate service, food and friendly atmosphere. A must stop outside Taormina

Fantastic wine cellar(we had a visit to the main one), not cheap but amazing selection especially from outside of the local area.

It was my second time here in 6 years, so I must confess that my choice is emotional. The fact is that the pasta is excellent and unique. We also had a T-bone steak for two and it melted in our mouths! But what sets this place apart, is an extensive wine list that you can navigate with the help of the owner. Whenever we will return to Sicily, Cave Ox is a must.

Great wine bar with restaurant in Mt Etna wine region! Stopped here on recommendation of friend’s daughter who works in a local winery. This is apparently where the local winemakers gather. We enjoyed the rustic food (note - pizza only served at dinner) especially the BIG salad w/ fresh mozzarella and prosciutto, and the tagliatelle w/ spinach and sausage. However the real treat were the wines! For 5 €/glass, they bring 2-4 bottle of you type of wine, pour you a taste and you then select which one for a full pour. We met the owner, Sandro, who took us to the cellar and we bought some really good wine (price was 20% less for take away). Needless to say we did not need to spend 25 €/person to taste the same wines at the local wineries!

We had a wonderful experience here!!We ordered a Pizza as starter,and it was really light and tasty,high quality ingredients!The pizza with Lemon zest is delicious and also the Pizza Norma,with Eggplant and local Riccota cheese!The Pacheri with Pistachio and speck(local and delicious Italian Ham) was creamy,full of flavor and really tasty,the Pasta was perfectly “Al Dente” cooked !!And finally,the mixed meats,all well seasoned and high quality,were really Good!!They have a wonderful wine List,with local ETNA and also from the whole world,many Natural and Biodinamic wines included!!Great Night,the owner,Mr Sandro,is very attentive and he has a great knowledge about wines!!I will repeat and strongly suggest this family restaurant in your trip to ETNA zone !

Best wine list in Sicily, the most hospitable owner, perfectly proofed pizza dough, amazing atmosphere. Simply unforgettable place! We spent two nights in a row and were sad to leave. Will definitely return!

Fabulous place in Solicchiata Sicily. If you are in Etna vicinity this unassuming place offers great pizza and other typical main dishes. Excellent wine list. Sandro the owner is very knowledgeable. The restaurant is always busy with locals and tourists.
We ate there 2 nights in a row. The wine we had with pizzas was marvelous, 100% Nero d'Avola. Maybe not ideal with pizza, but I wanted to try it.

Best place in Sicily for wine, a great wine list and works with the local producers. You’ll find all the natural wine makers you need. The food is great and humble. The staff is also very nice. Definitely a place you don’t want to miss, had a great time with friends
