We spent a day at the beginning of May, driving through the Dolomites. It was an exhilarating experience, with wonderful views, alarming hair pin bends, snow and the sight of an Alpine Marmot.

Incredible. Everything I wanted to experience. It helped that the weather was so good but just being in the mountains with pure, clear air and taking in the scenery was something I wouldn't have missed.

One of the nicest passes in the Dolomites. Starting point for a Piz Boe, also on a Sella Ronda - definitely recommend with a bike.

Pfiu what a place. Absolutely superb. We took a short trip to the closest rifugio. Big parking, lots of restaurants, bars, good food, lots of souvenirs. 👌

Great view from the bottom, but totally recommend a tour with the cabin up at the top of the mountain

A beautiful pass with a cable cart to the top of the mountain, where Rifugio Maria is placed.

Visited the Pordoi Pass on a recent Shearings holiday. Great views on the way up, though the 28 hairpin bends. Thick of snow at the top. Well worth a visit.

Sitting outside a restaurant in the sunshine, in a t-shirt drinking a cappuccino and eating a slice of Sacher Torte (nice but not the same as the original from the Sacher Hotel in Vienna).

From there you get the funicular and in ten minutes your are up to the Terrace of the Dolomiti. The view is breathtaking! I was there by December and the white of the snow was amazing, but I bet spring would be as equally nice with this kind of landscape. I definitely recommend it you are in the area.

Fantastic view on the Sella group and the easiest choice to reach Piz Boe (one of the easiest 3k mountain in Dolomites). You can take the cable car to Rifugio Maria or go via hike path to Rifugio Forcella Prodoi.
