La Grotta, Traditional cuisine and pizzeria

By far the best restaurant we've been to during our trip to Sicily. We dined here twice, for lunch & dinner. The Alla-Norma was PERFECT. The restaurant is inside a cave and the vibe is romantic and cosy but not formal in a way that makes you cringe.

Delicious food with top notch quality. Also, I found their menu quite unique. This pasta with lemon and almonds was fantastic.

However, the portion sizes are quiet small so I recommend you to take more dishes along with the pasta 😄

Very nice place in front of "la grotta", well-kempt and with great service. The food and drinks were exquisite and we had a very nice evening here. Now we know why everyone recommended it!

The marinated alici with lemon pearls and olive powder was amazing. Pasta was perfectly cooked and sauced were perfectly balanced. Do not miss this gem when in Southeast Sicily.

Please eat here! Everything was incredible: the food, the service, the atmosphere. Very clean restaurant and bathrooms. Excellent and inventive twist on traditional cuisine so it's not like you're eating the same old sicilian dishes all over again. We each had a full course meal and shared our dishes with each other. Every dish was unique and flavorful without going too far. Amazing flavor combinations. The cassata dessert, served with the candied fruit on the side, was perfect.

It was really nice food. Lovely professional and polite service from a young woman. Good wine list, knowledgeable and nice selection of wines by the glass. Very accommodating with young child and he loved his pasta. A nice setting also.

The name & pics says everything about this place! But the design is modern, spotless clean bathrooms, easy walkable from the main square by old city area. Fusion food, tasty, medium size dishes. Kind staff!

We arrived an hour before closing, late during a week night and we were warmly welcomed. The antipasti were excellent, as was the service. I had asked for my squid to be grilled instead of fried and the chef happily obliged which was nice. Make sure to ask for the piati del giorno.

Stopped in for a light lunch. Only diners there. Server, son of owner, very helpful. Had a discussion about Sicilian wines. (and had half liter of house red, which was excellent,) Had two dishes, antipasta, and squid ink pasta. Recommended. Highly.

Wonderful place built right into the rocks. As if you are sitting in a cave! Great food. The owner and the staff were so hospitable. Great wine and desserts as well.

Goodbye cell service hello tasty food! I got to sample 5 different dishes and nothing disappointed. Limited members of the staff speak English if that is your preference.

Excellent homemade pasta served by a efficient and friendly waiter who just so happens to be the son of the owners. Very nice and definitely recommended.

Nice place with genuine sicilian food. The chef angelo is a professional and service is fast.try " guazzetto di pesce" a local sea food soup with cous cous, so good.

This place was really excellent. The food, atmosphere and staff were brilliant. We would recommend anybody to go there.
