Hotel La Tavernetta

We loved our visit to La Tavernetta. It is located in a sublime location overlooking the sea. We enjoyed pool time every day and were assisted by wonderfully kind staff at the hotel, restaurant and beach bar throughout our stay. The food, especially the tuna, was delicious. We had a minor issue with our room which we addressed directly with the hotel and it did not take away from our enjoyment of the stay. Definitely recommend!

Having been visiting this family run hotel for 9 years after finding it by pure luck, I can honestly say it is getting better and better with each visit.

The location, the small resort with the amazingly located pool and pool bar, the atmosphere, and the caring, and hard working family and staff make what is an already great retreat, even better.

We enjoyed everything about Hotel La Tavernetta. We were charmed by the setting, the service and location. An unforgettable experience. I would love to come back someday.

Amazing end to our honeymoon here at this beautiful family - run hotel. Amazing food and breakfast with great choice - catered for my gluten free diet at both breakfast and dinner. Lovely helpful staff who we enjoyed talking with - especially the lovely receptionists who went out of their way to help, and the smiley head waiter. True Sicilian hospitality! We hope to return. Thank you all!

This was the perfect place to start our honeymoon. The view from our room was spectacular and the bed was extremely comfortable. The pool area was also a highlight. Special shout out to the lovely woman at the front desk who was so sweet and helpful. The Nature Reserve is only a 5 min drive away and is a must see! Amazing food in the restaurant, but a bit pricey. 2 min walk to the little town of Scopello which is quaint and charming. After seeing many other places around the island, we realize now what a true hidden gem this place was :)

One of the most beautiful places on earth. Very nice people (owners and staff). Very good Restaurant (not cheap but very good - I had the best dessert of my life). We will come again and bring our family. Also Scopello as a small but very nice City for the evenings is great.

We had a fantastic stay at the Hotel La Tavernetta. Our room seemed newly renovated and was very smartly designed (e.g. phone ledge and USB port next to each bedside). The hotel grounds were beautiful, with a gorgeous garden and stunning views of the sea from the breakfast area. The breakfast spread was the best that we had in our 2 weeks in Sicily - very generous and varied savoury and sweet options.

Most impressive however was the level of service provided. We asked for a clothes rack on our first day so that we could do some laundry, but they had none to spare. Instead, they immediately installed a wall-mounted drying rack on the patio! It's rare to see that level of efficiency and care in a hotel and we were very appreciative. Would definitely stay again!

A wonderful hotel with a beautiful garden. The room is cozy and absolutely clean. The pool area is a little paradise with all the small details you need to have a relaxed day in the sun while enjoying the awesome view. the staff is always present and heartwarmingly nice. The breakfast is the next thing that blew us away. We love our stay in this hotel.

Excellent restaurant. Probably the best in Scopello. Fresh sea food and fish. Stellar service. We recommend to reserved even if we got one of the last 4 tables, end of September.

The tuna 🍣 in pistachio was fantastic.

The view from the terrasse at lunch time is very nice. You cannot really appreciate at the diner, as it’s a too dark.

Our family had a 3-night stay booked. Upon arrival my wife, due to a broken leg, had difficulty with the location (on a mountaintop) and the vertical stairs leading up to the room. As we sought alternative accomodation Margherita, the owner, was gracious and understanding, and removed the third day from our stay in spite of our last-minute cancellation request.

We stayed at Hotel La Tavernetta on our honeymoon, and had a great experience. The views by the pool were beautiful , and we enjoyed relaxing in our private jacuzzi at the end of the day. The staff were very friendly, and went above and beyond to help us. The restaurant staff were fantastic too and the dishes were delicious. It's also a great location for exploring nearby beaches in Scopello which were all stunning.

Freshest and tastiest seafood I've had in a long time, enjoyed with great views over the sea in an elegant but friendly atmosphere. Service was excellent, staff are very prepared and take their time to describe the dishes, relaying advice from the chef on how to best enjoy them. They were also able to switch between English and Italian seamlessly, which was appreciated us being a bilingual couple and definitely a skill not to be taken for granted in this region of Italy. Service was very professional but at the same time friendly and not at all stiff. Ingredients, preparation and service were all top notch and we felt compelled to come back the next day to try other delicacies on the menu. This establishment is definitely a must-try in Scopello, where at time the abudance of tourist traps can cause unnecessary disappointment to the unaware hungry traveller.

We stayed at this hotel and had a dinner here too. The room was lovely with an amazing view - perfect pool area! The restaurant was great - we really loved the waiters who were incredibly friendly. Wonderful reception team too. Would recommend!!!

The setting is breathtaking at sunset - calming sea view, hills tumbling into the water. The service is impeccable, friendly and caring. The food is the best we had on the island - Sicilian salad, red tuna, caponata, prawn risotto, Busiate pasta with pesto. Treat yourself!

This is a wonderful family run hotel and restaurant. Setting amazing. Food and service excellent. Room comfortable and immaculately clean. Breakfast one of best ever had in Italy. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

Best seared tuna I've ever had. Pistachio crust fantastic. Wife had busiate pasta with a pistachio sauce. It was a bit heavy for me. Shame that they don't open until 7p. The view around 5p would be stunning.

5 star hotel in 1 star village = 3 star hotel.
Staff is helpful, restaurant staff is helpful. View and place is perfect for start of your vacation, and ofc… place got a solid pool to that you can use through out the day & night!

This is definitely better than a 3 star hotel (should be 4) - relative to the price paid, you get more than expected. Secure car park, nice food, amazing gardens and decent size rooms. I suggest the owners to shake themselves a little and get this property another star which it deserves.
