Trattoria Le Ginestre da Mimmo

We stayed in Radicofani on our honeymoon in 2015 and this restaurant was one of the best meals we had on our whole trip. Now in 2023 we are back in Tuscany and we drove an hour for the sole purpose of having lunch. Excellent food and service.

Very good food and friendly staff. I strongly recommend the beef cheek (guancia di chianina), it’s cooked very well. Home-made gelato is also top!
If you like meat with a bit of sweet taste, go for the deer (capriolo), the blueberry sauce gives it a hint of sweetness.

Tasty Italian cooking, fresh ingredients well cooked, out of tourists roads. They are really nice and will make everything for a nice moment. Eating in the garden is so pleasant.

Casual elegance prevails and it is obvious how much the owner and chef care about the food and service they present. The chef came to the table to see if we had any questions about the menu and when I ordered the pork tenderloin he personally came out to discuss how I would like the meat cooked. We settled on pink but not bloody and it was perfect and full of flavor.
The chef's creations are creative but still using local products with an interesting take on traditional Tuscan dishes. The chef reminds me of our experience in 2006 at Modena's La Francescana with Massimo Battura who is now a 3 star Michelin Chef. A modern take on tradition without straying too far away (Battura has been accused of straying). At Le Ginestra we ordered an appetizer of tempura fried pecarino cheese, the cheese wrapped in a very thin slice of pig cheek similar to bacon, battered, fried and served with a fig musk (sauce). We were told this is the chef's take on sushi. OH did I mention the hand made, creamy and delicious chocolate/orange gelato served in a waffle cup for dessert? If you are anywhere near Radicofani, you must try this special restaurant.

Above expectations. Beautiful dishes in a lovely garden. Fair prices. Absolutely to be recommended for lunch or dinner.

Perfetto! Great place to stop for lunch when visiting the thermal hot springs in the surrounding areas.

Came expecting to eat Italian pizza and fortunately they didn’t serve pizza and they recommended to try local pasta which was really good and we’ll come here for lunch tomorrow, it’s not sane from our side but we are going to eat the same :)

This place is amazing! is kind of fussion italian food!!! the rockefort cheese tempura will blow your mind!!

Materia prima e lavorazione impeccabili, menu ricco con piatti tradizionali ma non banali, eccellente consiglio sul vino (abbiamo preso un Montecucco riserva 2017 davvero notevole), dolce al caramello salato preso due volte. Metto solo due foto perché ho mangiato con gusto dimenticando di fotografare. Complimenti vivissimi e a presto!

Bravissimi! Una bella coppia, appassionata del proprio mestiere, si sente tutta la passione, l'impegno, la professionalità e la creatività nei piatti proposti. Non ho saputo resistere a un antipasto, primo, secondo e dolce! Ambiente curato, ottimo servizio e riguardo per il cliente. Giusti consigli. Una esperienza che dovrò ripetere. Consigliatissimo!! (Manca foto antipasto e dolce... divorati... non sono riuscito... in foto solo primo, contorno e secondo ... ;-) cosa ho mangiato in particolare? Eravamo di passaggio in una gita in moto e abbiamo deciso di fermarci a Le Ginestre, spinti da ottime recensioni, tutte fondatissime.
Servizio accogliente e professionale, cucina tipica toscana di qualità. Dopo antipasti e primi ci siamo fatti tentare e abbiamo ordinato la fiorentina, la bistecca più buona che abbia mai mangiato, è rimasto a malapena l'osso.

Prezzi in linea con la qualità dell'offerta

Una mangiata davvero eccellente da ogni punto di vista.
L’oringinalità di alcune portate era davvero interessante, su tutte la tempura di pecorino, il servizio cordiale e professionale, i prezzi incredibili e la qualità delle preparazioni hanno reso la cena un’esperienza davvero positiva.
Abbiamo visitato questa trattoria dopo una bella girata nel caratteristico borgo di Radicofani, davvero molto carino e ben conservato. Abbiamo mangiato un antipasto le ginestre per 2 persone che comprendeva, vari tipi di salumi, un’ottima mozzarella di bufala, un crostone con pecorino fuso e pancetta di cinta, una cocotte di pecorino fuso con tartufo e il pecorino in tempura. Piatto molto abbondante e davvero indicato per poter assaggiare un pochino di tutti i loro sfiziosi antipasti.
Abbiamo poi proseguito con dei pici al radicchio, pancetta di cinta e pecorino (per me) e dei pici al tartufo (per la mia fidanzata). Piatti ben fatti e incredibilmente abbondanti, forse anche troppo!
A chiudere una sorta di cheesecake di ricotta su base di cantucci. La cena è stata accompagnata da un Nobile di Montepulciano davvero eccellente del 2011, prodotto dal Podere Macchione.
Conto molto più che onesto rapportato a quanto mangiato.
