Tenuta Rustìca

We recently stayed in Tenutica Rústica for two days and were impressed by the peacefulness and cozy atmosphere. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable and elegant. Owners Margarita and Lorenzo were exceptionally kind and helpful, always ready with excellent recommendations for the area. Their hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable. The hotel is an ideal spot for relaxation and offers a wonderful opportunity to learn about and enjoy organic wines. It's truly a perfect retreat to savour the local culture.

Margherita and Lorenzo have created an idyllic, beautiful place in the countryside. The house and surroundings have been restored with love and attention to detail, it is modern but respectful of the historic structures.
The breakfast is great with lots of homemade products, such as fruits and olive oil.
It‘s a great spot to explore Etna and its wineries but don‘t miss spending time at the tenuta to relax and wind down.
Margherita and Lorenzo were kind and attentive hosts and when they heard it was my birthday the day after we left, they gave me a homemade pear cider with a lovely note as a present to take away.
We will be back for sure!

We stayed just for 3 nights at Tenuta Rustica and absolutely fell in love instantly with this truly, truly special, historic place!! The amount of love which has gone into creating a home away from home experience was clear to see from the moment the lovely Margherita and Lorenzo greeted us and even helped us with our luggage! It is a heaven on earth :)
The untouched beauty of the land surrounding Tenuta Rustica, to the beauty of the tenuta's own gardens and pool, is breath taking. To one side you see Mount Etna, to the other, rolling hills and cows agrazing. We had plans to go and visit Taormina for a whole day, but honestly, we preferred to just hang out at the Tenuta! (We just went to Taormina for the evening, which was busy but fun!) If you close your eyes, you just hear the soul warming sounds of the cow and donkey bells and cicadas and it really is a wholesome paradise, waking up to freshly prepared breakfasts (the scrambled eggs were INSANELY DELICIOUS!) juicy fruits from their own trees, coffees, juices, yogurts and cereals, cheese and super yummy honey!
Margherita was the most kind hearted hostess, always checking in on us at breakfast in case we needed any tips for the day, for where to eat dinner to things to do and was always availabe over whatsapp for assistance. Thanks to her recommendation we had the most suuuuppperr delicious dinner of pistachio burratta pasta and extra tomatoey pizza from the nearby Cave Ox Restaurant!
Our room was beautifully furnished, all white and airy, with high ceilings and air con. The blend of heritage furnishings with the luxury of Frette linens and super fluffy towels were a total dream. We ordered also the pool slippers and beach towels which were great too :) My only tip I'd say is there can be quite a few mosquitoes - which is to be expected as we visited in July, but Margherita had us covered with two different types of insect repellant and I also brought my own so we had triple protection!!
Our absolute highlight was our first night, which happened to coincide with the 2024 Euro's final of Spain vs England. Margherita and Lorenzo went out of their way to set up the lounge with the TV ready to watch the match, and as we had asked for dinner, even served dinner to us during the match - it was honestly the most special experience made all the more memorable by the homecooked food they served, which was so mouthwateringly delicious it was certainly one of the tastiest meals of our whole holiday! The ingredients all fresh, topped off by a bottle of their red wine which was so delectable that I hadddd to get a bottle to take home!

We stayed at Tenuta Rústica for a coulple of days and we wish we had stayed longer. The house together with the warm and welcoming hosts Margherita and Lorenzo made an amazing stay. And if you have the opportunity, you should try their wine and oil, your won’t regret it! And if you have doubt over what to do or see in the area you can ask them, their recommendations are amazing :)

TL;DR – A magical place. Cared for by the most thoughtful hosts. Delivers on all basic needs and more.

We came by Tenuta Rustica the week they opened to the public. Our plan for a 3-day stay turned into 5 and, should responsibilities and work have not existed, could have easily turned into a month-long stay or more.

At the core of this review are Margherita and Lorenzo, the owners of Tenuta Rustica.

Despite only being open to the public for a few days before our visit, the care and attention to detail Margherita and Lorenzo poured into this place surpassed what we experienced anywhere else.

Three areas set Tenuta Rustica apart:
// Hospitality – Simply put: we felt extremely well looked after from when we booked to when we left. Margherita and Lorenzo were eager to help us make the most of our time. Their pride and love for Sicily was clear. They generously (and patiently) answered every question we had over breakfasts and during our wine and oil-tasting experience – helping us understand more about their land, roots, and what we had to see, eat, and drink. It felt as if we were visiting friends instead of staying in a hotel.

// Authenticity – Tenuta Rustica is 13 generations old and beautifully preserved. Every detail from the seasonal fruits shared at breakfast to the furniture is considered, representing the land’s rich history and present. It was a huge privilege to eat and drink from the crops Lorenzo and Margherita nurtured over the last 10 years.

// Charm – Tenuta Rustica has a special charm to it. A lot of this has to do with Margherita and Lorenzo, who are willing and eager to help you make the most of your stay.

Not to mention the basic requirements of a great stay: hygiene, amenities, location, security, comfort, and flexibility. All of which Tenuta Rustica delivers on and more.

We left feeling we had gained new friends instead of staying at a hotel, and cannot wait to visit again to hear all about their success.

Our stay at Tenuta Rustìca 1519 near Etna was nothing short of exceptional. Nestled amidst the picturesque Sicilian countryside, this charming retreat offered us a perfect blend of relaxation and true Sicilian atmosphere.

From the moment we arrived, Marghe and Lorenzo, the welcoming owners, made us feel like old friends rather than guests. Their warmth and genuine hospitality set the tone for our entire stay. Accompanied by my wife, we savored every moment, indulging in the tranquility of the surroundings and the breathtaking views.

The accommodations were cozy and tastefully decorated, reflecting the rustic charm of the estate while providing modern comforts. There are nice pool area, where we spent lazy afternoons soaking in the Mediterranean sun.

A standout memory was celebrating my birthday with a dinner crafted from the finest local ingredients. Marghe’s and Lorenzo’s culinary skills shone brightly as we enjoyed dish after dish of Sicilian delicacies, each bursting with flavor and authenticity.

The following day, we were treated to a delightful wine and olive oil tasting experience. Wine and cider, as-well as kombucha were perfectly paired with delicious Sicilian bites. The conversation flown effortlessly in relaxed atmosphere and was a wonderful end of the day.

The breakfast was tasty and full of flavors made from fresh local ingredients.

Overall, our stay at Tenuta Rustìca 1519 was a delightful escape from vanity into Sicily's countryside atmosphere. Marghe and Lorenzo's dedication to creating a memorable experience for their guests was evident in every detail. Whether seeking relaxation or a deeper connection with Sicilian culture, this hidden gem near Etna is an ideal choice. We left with cherished memories and a longing to return.

We were honored to be one of Marghe and Lorenzo's first guests. The estate is a little paradise where you can relax and feel the spirit of its history. The building has been renovated and restored with lots of love for details to keep its history charm while ensuring contemporary comfort for guests, e.g., a great swimming pool, which makes it easy to relax in a unique environment. The estate is surrounded by olive trees and wines with a fantastic view of the Etna. Marghe and Lorenzo are charming and caring hosts. We got supported with everything we requested, e.g., hiking (Alcantara canyon), sightseeing, restaurant tips, and pistachio tastings nearby. Don't miss the wine/cider and olive oil tasting on Site ;-). The breakfast is terrific, and the fresh local products are from farmers nearby. We can't wait to come back soon. A small group came for a tasting and left wanting to come back and stay for an extended holiday at this extremely unique space in Sicily. The place wine, the cider, the food, and most of all the people. Thank you Margherita and Lorenzo! We will be back!

Lorenzo and Margherita were amazing. We read about their winery on a travel blog, but unfortunately it was closed. By chance, we caught them driving in and they were kind enough to open up and let us taste a few wines and olive oil - all of which were great !

Tenuta Rustica is extraordinary beautiful place with the long history run by an enthusiastic couple who is restoring the site and has the plans going probably beyond this century to make this place even more gorgeous. We just found it on the internet and wanted to hear their story and taste their products. Wine and oil production is rather small (no different sorts), but this was not a problem at all and we were happy that owners shared with us part of their story

Un posto incantevole e magico in cui abbiamo trascorso tre giorni meravigliosi, all’insegna del romanticismo e del relax.
La tenuta di Lorenzo e Margherita affascina gli occhi dei viaggiatori per la bellezza della natura e dei paesaggi circostanti.
La struttura e le camere sono dotate di ogni confort, arredate con pezzi storici e curate in ogni dettaglio. I letti sono soffici e comodissimi, non dormivano così bene da tempo!
La piscina, di temperatura ideale, è immersa nel verde della campagna e dona equilibrio e pace.
Impossibile non innamorarsi di questo posto, torneremo sicuramente!

Tenuta Rustica è un luogo incantevole, rilassante e pieno di storia. La struttura è curata nei minimi dettagli e veramente confortevole, menzione speciale per i letti comodissimi, la grandezza delle suite e per la magnifica piscina. I proprietari sono gentili e simpatici pronti a dare ogni tipo di consiglio per passare una bella vacanza, senza contare che sono ottimi produttori di vino e olio che si può degustare sul posto. E’ un luogo perfetto per una vacanza all’insegna del relax, della connessione con la natura, per attività all’aperto e per scoprire una zona di vini molto bella. Io e il mio compagno non vediamo l’ora di tornare.

Vivere qualche giorno la realtà proposta da Margherita e Lorenzo è stata un'esperienza indimenticabile. Io e mia moglie abbiamo ancora negli occhi le meraviglie di Tenuta Rustìca e la consigliamo senza riserve a tutti gli amanti delle cose belle!

Tenuta Rustica ist eine Oase - ein Ort an dem man sich wohlfühlen und entspannen kann. Lorenzo und Marghe haben diesen Ort zu einem absoluten Paradies gemacht. Das Haus wurde sehr liebevoll renoviert mit ganz viel liebe zum Detail. Man kommt an und fühlt sich sofort wohl. Inmitten von Olivenhainen mit fantastischen Blich auf den Ätna. Der Garten ist eine Oase zum wohlfühlen. Toller alter Baumbestand, fantastische Ausblicke egal ob zum Ätna, in die Olivenhaine oder zum "Löwenkopf" mit seiner prähistorischen Stette, die auch bewandert werden kann. Ein super schöner Pool lädt zum entspannen und abkühlen ein. Vor Ort wird man mit fantastischen Tipps versorgt (Aktivitäten, Restaurants etc...)Es gibt sehr viel in der Gegend zu unternehmen (Wandern, Olivenfarmen, Weingüter, Führung einer Pistazienfarm etc). Die Gastgeber Marghe und Lorenzo haben uns jeden Wunsch von den Augen abgelesen und wir können es kaum abwarten, bald wieder Ihre Gäste zu sein. Für uns ist ein Sizilienurlaub ohne den Besuch auf der Tenuta Rustica nicht mehr auszudenken :) DANKE für Eure Gastfreundschaft und dass dieses Paradies für uns Gäste zugänglich ist :)

Luogo magnifico sotto l'Etna: azienda curata con amore dalla famiglia Fisauli, nella persona di Lorenzo.
Una passeggiata di salute tra uliveti secolari, frutteti e in vigna. A seguire una degustazione del loro ottimo olio extravergine di oliva e del loro Nerello Mascalese.
