The restaurant offers not only top-notch food but also an unforgettable experience. We came for dinner and ended up with much more. The staff was well-informed and ensured we felt cared for throughout our visit. They explained each dish in detail, helping us both taste and understand the cuisine. Despite having just 12 options on the menu, the food was among the best we've ever had. It's clear the team put significant effort into perfecting each element before serving it.

The ambience exceeded our expectations as well; the quietness of Monticchiello in the evening made it feel like a private city tour. The city environment, coupled with the charm of the restaurant's style, created a perfect setting for an amazing dinner.

Additionally, the wine selection was superb, with knowledgeable recommendations from the staff that perfectly complemented our meal. Each course was timed perfectly, allowing us to enjoy every bite without feeling rushed. The attention to detail was evident not just in the food but in every aspect of our visit, from the warm welcome to the final goodbye.

We ordered the 5-course menu, even though they didn't tell us what we would get, we weren't disappointed at all.
Every meal was delicious, the chef has the skill to prepare perfectly balanced and tasteful dishes with just a few ingredients.
They also offer great wines and the people working there are very kind and friendly.
So a complete dining experience which we can only recommend.

Every restaurant was full in the city exept this one, thank god. Every dish was exeptional, a real joy to have. Andrea the waiter is really friendly and helpful, he explains every course during dinner. Highly recommended place

I recently dined at Paolino and had an exceptional experience that I must share. The ambiance was charming, with a warm and authentic Tuscan atmosphere that made me feel instantly at ease. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and provided impeccable service throughout the evening.

Highlights of the evening were the duck ravioli and the Olio Pochè. Both dishes were exceptional and offered a perfect balance of richness and texture.

If you find yourself in this area, dining here is an absolute must. It’s not just a meal, but a true culinary experience.

We opted for the tasting menu, and it was hands down one of the best decisions we’ve ever made! I don’t think I’ve ever tasted anything better in my life.
From the exquisite combination of textures, flavors, plating, and presentation, to the truly remarkable selection of wines, everything was flawless.

Each dish was a burst of flavors, a rainbow on the palate, and the whole experience was pure nourishment for the soul.

Absolutely incredible food in a cute small town.

The service from waiter and chef was incredibly attentive with great suggestions, and the food impeccable. Ae loved how the menu showcased the region but was different to other restaurants. Highly recommend the pecorino appetiser, tuna & veal tongue, and the veal cheek was 1000/10. The specialty almond olive oil dessert was also so special.

One of the best lunches we have had and we booked to go back! A delicious and thoughtful menu. We were highly impressed by the attention to detail. My risotto with a prawn carpaccio was incredible and the wild boar tagliatelle was outstanding. Our dessert of Lemon sorbet with basil cream was sublime.
This is a set in a stunning quiet village and absolutely worth a visit. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating as well.

My wife, myself, and another couple had a magnificent experience here last weekend! The ragu pappardelle was more delicious than anything we had in Rome or Florence, just phenomenal! Very rich and melted in your mouth. The filet and rabbit were amazing as well, as was the complimentary assortment of bread and olive oil. We only stayed two nights in Monticchiello and after dining here the first night we had to go back the second night because we loved it so much. We got a very warm and friendly greeting upon entering, and excellent service throughout the meal both nights.

This hidden gem is incredible! Our group stumbled upon it while walking around Monticchiello trying to figure out where to eat. First, the ambiance of this place was so cute and peaceful. The table setup itself showed how much they cared about their guest experience. The complimentary bread was fresh and delicious, and our server was very kind. They brought out fried polenta, compliments of the chef, and it was so crispy and flavor with the sauces on it.

Our main courses were all 5 stars. The presentation of the food was beautiful. The ingredients were fresh and the pasta was incredible. I ordered the aglione and it was so good, and the portion was perfect.

For dessert we ordered the Fredduccio and the Olio Poché. Both of these were to die for! The fredduccio had buttery crumbles and an amazing biscotti soaked in wine reduction. The olio poché had sort of a soufflé texture and topped with olive oil of course, it was amazing. We’ve been out to eat in Italy quite a few times already on this trip and so far this has been our favorite place so far!

Thankyou for the most amazing experience. Serving a table of 13 people . We had the degustation menu which was mind blowing, delicious food so artfully presented and the service was next level . Our last night in Tuscany so Thankyou for making it so memorable. The dessert with olives and olive oil will stay with me forever .

Highly recommend visiting Osteria Fra Paolino! We had some of the best food during our trip to Italy…the gazpacho, truffle pasta and limon and almond dessert were favorites!

Chose the restaurant by the great reviews we read and it was a great choice. The place is nicely decorated, the staff is attentive and friendly, and the prices were great. We tried the Chestnuts and Muschrooms Soup, which was a surprisingly delicious and rich combination, and the Pasta with Truffles, which were the best we had, the aroma was so perfect, the ingredients were high quality and fresh, it was mind blowing.
We also got to taste some meatballs with orange sauce, which were also tasty. They served us with bread and some local olive oil, the best way to start a meal in Italy!
I definitely recommend it if you are looking for fresh, delicious food. It is easy to find it too.

Amazing experience. The owner was beyond friendly, the food was impressive (t bone served sizzling pictured), and the location and ambience were perfectly charming. The menu also boasted a few inventive dishes, including an almond crumble type dessert with olive oil that was unique and delicious. I’m so glad that we stumbled upon this town and this restaurant, in particular.

Lovely little nook! We had a guide take us there and it was amazing. My wife had a great meal and I had the best pasta of our Italian trip here. The veal cheek was sublime.

This place is amazing! Tucked in a little castle town, the owner Paolino is so friendly and easy going, also a great pastry chef! He explained all the dishes and guided us through the menu. Tbone steak was exceptional and pastas were unique and delicious!

Desserts which are his specialty are also very unique. We got the almond crumble and olive oil topping which was very different to other desserts ive had.

Absolutely the best restaurant in Montechiello. The diversity of local produce crafted into deliciously flavourful plates of food. An explosion of flavours to be had. One of the best wine lists ever that I've seen across the whole Val d'Orcia area.

This was literally the best meal I have ever eaten in my life. Paolo, the owner, is the nicest person ever and this food was so good it’s hard to put into words. The simplest way to say it is that if you are in Italy, no matter where you are in the country; you need to come here. We are only here for three days and will be back every night for dinner.

We were a Group of 15 people and ordered in advance the menu with different dishes from antipasti, different primis and dessert. For me it Was a very nice expierence and the food Was very authentic and super good (especially the pappa al pomodoro, the lasagne and Not to forget the tiramisu ). The Service took a little time, but regarding the amount of people it Was totally fine!
We ate there twice and were Not disappointed. I recommend a visit to this fine osteria. Grazie mille!
