Mt. Fuji views + fall colors + Sunny weather = perfect visit! We visited this shrine on a bright sunny day in November and it was stunning. Mt. Fuji was visible all through the way up to the shrine along with bright read, yellow fall colors. Haven't seen it in other seasons, but visit during Autumn is a must. The climb up to the shrine wont take more than 20 min if you simply climb, but with such beautiful scenery, it took us more than an hour just capturing photos. Highly recommended to visit this when in the Fuji area. The five-storied pagoda at the top along with Mt. Fuji in the background is a perfect picture for a postcard. As with other places, this is heavily crowded and expect a lot of people. Located close to Kawaguchiko!

I used GPS to drive to the vicinity of the JR station, but the road to the parking lot of the temple itself is very narrow. It snowed heavily the day before(6 Feb)and the road was very slippery. If you want to take photos of Mount Fuji in the background, and you have to rely on some luck when visiting, it is best to wear light clothes and It will be more convenient to wear sports hiking shoes on the stairs.

The view of Mount Fuji was absolutely stunning, with the Tokyo Skytree in the background. There were many shrines where you could pray, so be sure to prepare some coins for offerings. Alternatively, you could purchase a lucky charm as a souvenir for your family and friends.

Challenging climb but made the day feel less lazy and certainly we could eat more noodles after than mammoth uphill stairs climb.

Tip- afternoon sun makes it very hard to take photos of fujisan

Mount Fuji tallest mountain in Japan standing at 3776 metres, the 2nd highest volcano located on an island in Asia. About 100km away, 2.5 hrs train ride from Shinjuku station to Otsuki, then transfer Fujikyu Railway train to Shinoyoshida station. Once at the station just follow the map sign post to get to Fuji Sengen shrine where you have have the picture perfect Mount Fuji photos taken. Short 10mins walk to the foot of the shrine may be very windy, once at the foot of the hill you will need to climb up 400 steps to get to the top. It is well worth it, despite of the workout. Breathtaking view with Instagram-able photos to be taken.
On the way out lookout for a souvenir cum ramen shop, where you can enjoy a warm bowl of hot ramen. Nothing to shout about but a good place for a quick rest. Overall highly recommended day tour to be done at least once in the lifetime.

Beautiful pagoda not far from the station in Shimoyoshida. However, you should be good on foot to master the approximately 300 steps to the viewing platform. There is no elevator or low barrier staircase here. The view from the top compensates for the climb. The entrance fee is free and there are plenty of toilets.

We took cab and arrived to the entrance of the park. Need to climb few hundred of stairs before arriving to the top to see the view of mt Fuji and the pagoda. The nearest station is like is 10 min walk from the park

For people who are planning to drive there -
1. There is on-site parking with quite a number of slots. I arrived there at 3pm - quite late and had no issues finding a slot. But it could run out quickly during peak season I believe.
2. The viewing is stunning - unfortunately the Fujiyama was partially covered by clouds when I visited. But it still looks great!
3. Unless you really want to take a photo from the most famous spot (like the postcard), it may only take you 1-1.5 hours to tour around. There are trails designed for people who are not fan of stairs, like me. It only takes a short while to reach the top. So don’t rush - just chill and enjoy the beautiful view.

Don't miss the gorgeous view of Mt. Fuji from Arakura Fuji Shengen Shrine. Must get there as early as possible, then you will have a car park space. If not, you have to wait and waste your time.

Getting off, do not forget to go to the toilet which is at the right hand side of the entrance. Later on you will walk up the hill top.

In general, there are 2 places at the Shrine you can see Mt Fuji most beautiful, opposite to the temple and the hill top.

The face of Mt. Fuji changes drastically, always concealed by clouds. Furthermore, Raining season may reduce the appearance of the mountain.

Key location to visit, for the photo of the pagoda with Mount Fuji in the landscape. There are two approaches to the top, via 700 steps or the slopes.

Nice picturesque view of Fuji with the cherry blossoms. Happy to skip the Instagram photo line and enjoy the hike. Beautiful area, gets less busy as you gain altitude.

Definitely a must go place. Please wear comfy shoes to climb up the stairs and can be quite tiring. We went during cherry blossom season, the view is amazing even we couldn’t see Mt Fuji that day.
