Velas Vallarta

We stay here, June 16 to June 26 for 10 days. We had amazing time. My kids love this place. They wanna go back to this hotel again. Even though they don’t have waterslide for kids, but my kids had amazing time. My son like I wanna stay here forever:) Service was amazing. Specially the bartender at the pool bar. Food was amazing.

My first experience here was a dream come true! I felt like royalty and every employee was so attentive to every member. Food was always delicious and fresh! I loved the variety. It is absolutely kid friendly and I really enjoyed the kids club. They had varieties of kid activities that gave the parents some quiet time for about 45 minutes. Pools were always clean. Such friendly service. Beautiful views. Rooms are spacious and room service is quick and above efficient. Every other member staying there was friendly and smiling. I can't wait to come back some day! Seeing the peacocks, iguanas, coi fish, whales, cruise ships, a trained hawk, and the pelicans dive into the ocean was a bucket list adventure for sure!

Very clean. Great pools. Good food. Every staff member I encountered was an absolute gem! The quality of cocktails varied a lot, most were not great. Would be nice to have a little play corner at the restaurant, so that toddlers would have something to do while parents eat their meal. The kids pool was awesome though. I liked being close to the airport, the ride took less than 10 min. The massages were amazing. I would go back for sure, great experience.

Beautiful resort that's on the beach. Gorgeous views of Puerto Vallarta. Friendly, courteous staff. Shower water pressure is awesome!
Big pool with plenty of lounge chairs. 2 restaurants on-site. Good fitness center.
On-site currency exchange. Close to the airport. 10 minute walk to the marina or $3-$4 taxi fare to the marina.
Approximately 30 minutes to drive to the Malecon.
1 hour drive to Sayulita (worth it!).

We've been to Velas Vallarta 4 times and have loved it every time! The rooms are clean and well maintained and the staff is wonderful. We spent most of our trip hanging out by the pool and both Edwin and Carlos took great care of us. We ate at all of the restaurants and did yoga and water aerobics. Highly recommend!

We stayed 4 nights at Velas Vallarta in February of 2024 with our 2 small children. It was an incredible trip and we highly enjoyed the resort. The cost was reasonable, the resort had everything we needed (even with only 2 restaurants we felt like we had plenty of options) and we didn't even leave the property. The pool is wonderful and the service all around great! The only challenge was finding a table/chair by the pool. If you didn't have your towel down by 8am you likely wouldn't get a spot. Overall, we'll be back for sure!

If you come here for their Time Share presentation you will be treated to a nice lunch and really professional sales staff that will give you the grand tour. It takes a couple of hours and regardless if you purchase the package or not they will gift you passes to the dolphins experience at Aquaventure Park.

I enjoyed their presentation and appreciate the passion that the entire staff has for the resort.

The location is amazingly convenient and the rooms are pretty nice too. The pool in the center is quite nice and has a lazy river for kids.

Velas treats you as family from the minute you walk in the door! Amazing views from every room! Pools galore! Service is above par! Food is excellent 👌 the airport is 7 minutes away, so very quick commute 😀 Very clean and quiet where needed!

We're here just the first day. I will update the review as the stay continues but I already wanted to give a shout-out to Carlos at the main lobby bar for being a great artist and being curious to make new cocktails. La Ultima Palabra was very nice indeed! Eduardo at Ribera restaurant truly rendered the best service, making the experience memorable and topped it off with an amazing suggestion of flan & Baileys dessert paired with an equally enjoyable cocktail. Manuel served us breakfast. He remembered our preferences and greeted us with ready made servings of drinks.

Just the absolute best place to vacation. Our home away from home! Love the servers, the front desk, the restaurant, the waiters, the location, the rooms, the food, the weather. We’ve been many times and always leave wanting to come back again. Their approach is “yes, how can we help you” and we truly appreciate our holiday time at Velas Vallarta so so much, year after year. “It is my pleasure”. ❤. This was a wonderful experience. I encountered literally dozens of workers at the resort and they were all (universally) pleasant, kind, easygoing, friendly, and they assumed the best. They were funny and generous in spirit. That is pretty exceptional. The resort was clean and the room was very good. There were beautiful pools and grounds. We had no problem accessing lounge chairs or pool toys. The food was above average for a Mexican resort. You can order to your room or dine at the restaurant. I would recommend the latter as the a la carte menu with hot food delivered to your table is a better culinary experience. Room service is fast but a 10-30 minute delay still results in an inferior experience (although they do plastic wrap the dish while en route to the room). The refrigerator in your suite is stocked daily with bottled water and beverages. There is a snack bar in the room. There is unlimited light beer on the all inclusive. The resort is very close to the airport. It felt safe. As a guest with limited knowledge of the area (but also a very experienced traveller) I did not see any obvious things that would make me concerned for safety and felt it was a safe place to bring my family. We did not use the laundry service but it is very expensive. Massages at the resort were exceptional (80 mins) but were 180 US each (not included with all inclusive and much cheaper if you get in the marina area instead, short walk away). For kids, they have a good kids menu and a very nice kids pool. They also have a kids babysitting area for kids 4+. One suggestion for improvement would be if the restaurants had a kids area where you could leave your toddler, as you eat, for periods of time. Overall it was a very good experience, not cheap, but you felt that your hard-earned dollars were going to use in delivering a great vacation. I would return to the resort and feel confident saying 5 stars. Icing on the cake was the incredible Mexican musical group (with fiddles, horns, guitars and vocals) playing traditional songs at your table, really great, and free. Thanks Velas Vallarta staff for making us feel welcome, you are great ambassadors for your lovely country. As you can see from the photos (snapped with my Samsung smartphone) the view from our room was amazing and modestly referred to by the front desk associate as a "partial ocean view", which was hilarious because it is an exceptional full ocean view and quite incredible. The beach is also gorgeous. This place will continue to be successful as long as they maintain the focus on customer service which they accomplish through having a great and well-trained staff. We hope we were well-behaved and appreciative guests. Bravo.

The staff and quality of food compared to other resorts was really good. Although the hotel only has 2 restaurants the food was amazing. They had a different menu each day. The exterior architecture of the hotel is very nice and the garden/ pools are well-maintained.

The studio rooms are a bit dated, we upgraded to a suite after the first night and the room was much nicer.

The location is also good, it's close to the airport.

This hotel is not a “party” hotel, but it's clean, safe, and I would definitely come back.

Went during Christmas time and had some dress up as Santa and parachute in. Beach is nice me and my cousins went surfing overall very good resort.

Very lovely resort with all inclusive options. Grounds were impeccable, service was outstanding, and food was good. Be aware that if traveling during the hot and humid months (as I did), that only 1 restaurant has inside air conditioning dining, and nightly entertainment is performed in the lobby area (also without air conditioning). 24 hour room service provides quick and good meals directly to your unit, and poolside food is available and tasty.

Attended the time share sales pitch. The venue and facility looks spectacular. The rooms that are offered for the deal looked fantastic. As a vacation spot was a very promising location with beautiful views.

My husband and I recently had the wedding of our dreams at the Velas Vallarta, and I can't say enough wonderful things about the resort. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and stunning oceanfront views. The staff went above and beyond to make our wedding weekend perfect, from helping us plan the ceremony and reception to ensuring all of our guests had a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The resort itself is absolutely breathtaking. The grounds are lush and impeccably maintained, and the pools are sparkling and inviting. We loved spending our days lounging by the pool, sipping craft cocktails by Misael, and taking in the beautiful scenery. The food was also incredible, with a variety of restaurants to choose from, all serving up delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine.

But what truly made our experience at the Velas Vallarta special was the people. The entire staff from the front desk to housekeeping to bartenders and waiters were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always willing to go the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed at all hours of the day. They made us feel like family, and we truly appreciate everything they did to make our wedding weekend so special.

We were blessed to have 76 guests travel to PVR to be a part of our wedding celebration. Every single person was equally enchanted. From the clean and comfortable accommodations to the delicious cuisine and premium liquor, they marveled at the resort's impeccable service and the breathtaking beauty of its surroundings. But it was the seamless execution of the wedding itself, Michele's invisible hand guiding the day with unwavering professionalism and passion, that truly left them awestruck.

Velas Vallarta wasn't just a stunning backdrop; it was a team of dedicated professionals who treated our wedding like their own including wonderful people like Pablo and Cristina. Our guests were simply amazed by their incredible service at every turn not to mention amazing food and drinks all night. And at the heart of it all was Michele, a wedding whisperer who turned our dreams into memories that will shimmer like the Pacific sun for years to come.

Excellent resort and worth the all inclusive (food and drinks!). All the staff here were very friendly and helpful. All areas of the resort are well kept. The 2 restaurants in the resort are both good. There’s a small mini mart there for extra snacks or drinks, some shirts, and other things you might need. Love our waiters Carlos and Oscar at Ribera’s restaurant.

Room service tacos for 4 was excellent! Everything was so fresh and yummy(and healthy). All the staff were super friendly and helpful! The grounds were impeccably maintained and with beautiful plants. It was a bonus see a peacock walking right pass us.

Had a suuuper time here. From sitting at the beach reading a book to taking part in some of some of the planned activities, there's something for everyone here! Food at the restaurants was amazing also! :)
