Hotel Paraíso Escondido

Pretty good hotel for the price paid. Consider the following when staying here, though:
1. There are no online reservations, so you need to arrive early to the resort to find available rooms.
2. This hotel does not offer hot water. Hence, expect to have your private bathroom with shower, towels and shampoo in the room, but no hot water.
3. The hotel has a lot of stairs because it is in the slope of the mountain, so bring luggage that is easy to carry (backpacks and non-wheeled suitcases).
4. Payments are all in cash, so bring enough to cover your stay. The prices are advertised online, so you can check them there before arriving. Consider not all room types will be available when you arrive.
5. The views are excellent from this hotel, and its convenient access to the pocitas makes it a great location to be at.

Location: This hotel is located in the paraiso section of the park and is therefore near the white pools.
It is referred to as hotel paraiso escondida (or simply hotel paraiso).
It is 40 minutes walk away from the Gruta section of the park (which contains caves, tunnels, river).

Be ware that this hotel has 2 sections: the nicer hotel section and the bungalows. The prices on the website are for the bungalows (~900 pesos for a double room with balcony). The hotel section prices are not shared on the website and they are 1350 pesos for a double room with 1 small queen bed with no balcony and 2400 pesos for a quadruple room with 2 queen beds and balcony).

Condition and amenities: The hotel is fairly clean, includes private bathroom with towels, soap, shampoo, and warm water for shower. The room includes wifi that mostly does not work, TV and air-conditioning. We had the mountain view room from the window and it was nice. The rooms look like the pictures I have posted. If you see pictures of rooms that look different, it is likely the bungalow section rooms.

Downside: There is a very strong smell of pesticide in the entire facility especially in the rooms which even stays on clothes after leaving the hotel. We had absolutely no issues with bugs or insects anywhere in the hotel (including room, hallways or lobby) and I wonder if that is primarily in the bungalow sections or perhaps because they pesticide treated the hotel well.

Cash: this facility operates on cash only (for hotels, food, entrance fee). No credit card accepted. I did not see any ATM on site, so bring enough cash with you.

Entrance fee: please note, if you stay at this hotel one night, you will have to pay an additional entrance fee per person.

This is probably one of the most beautiful places in Mexico that I’ve ever been to. The mix of a not-TOO-developed tourist site and the amazing natural beauty make this a one of a kind experience. The mix of beautiful mountain and valley views with the green vegetation with the hot springs with the infinity pools with the water caves make this one of the most instragrammable places in the world. Although you probably already saw that from your friend’s Instagram post of this place. Which is why you’re reading this post right now. One VERY important word of advice: AVOID THE WEEKENDS. It’s a world of a difference. It’s like sharing Disneyland with thousands of others vs renting it the whole thing with a few or your best buddies. Definitely a must see!

Amazing place, its a paradise. It has everything that you need for a relaxing getaway with the family. No wifi or tv, so the kids can actually be kids and enjoy the nature of this gorgeous place.

Las Grutas de Tolantongo in Hidalgo city in Mexico is an indescribable natural place place to visit !! Price very accessible and good people !! The road to get there is little tired the little town still working on it, to improve it and to give better service!! But is totally worth it ...this place is hide in the mountains that you can never imagined would be tha awesome place to visiting!!

El hotel se encuentra dentro del paseo "Grutas de Tolantongo" es muy limpio, tiene mucha seguridad y de 1era calidad. 👌

Me hospede en el mes de mayo. El hotel tiene costo accesible y buenas instalaciones. Alberca para chicos y grandes. A las personas que no quieres pagar hotel pueden acampar en la zona de camping frente al hotel. El personal muy amable en todo momento

Muy limpio y agradable, las habitaciones con todos los servicios el más cercano al estacionamiento, la gente que atiende le doy un 7 de calificación deben mejorar su atención al cliente

Exelente hotel cuenta con elevador, solo acepta pagos en efectivo lo cual solo me lo limito a hospedarme un día, hace falta servicio a la habitación

El Hotel está maravilloso, súper limpio, la cama es una delicia bien agusto, el baño bien, la regadera excelente con agua caliente, me encanto la estadía definitivamente valen los 1,600 que pague por habitación individual cama matrimonial. Sólo no me gusto qué tienes qué llegar en chinga a primera hora para alcanzar habitaciones pues en fin de semana llega demasiada gente, segundo que no me gustó, llegué a las 8am del sábado pagué mí habitación y me hicieron Check In hasta las 15:30hrs 😭😡😒 tuve que cargar con mis maletas medio día, cuando ya moría de cansancio. No hay reservación es de llegar y ganar lugar, el pago es sólo en efectivo. Pero cuando porfin pude entrar a mí habitación quedé encantada...!!!💕❤ Sólo siii por piedad qué sean más rápidos en entregar las habitaciones o mínimo tener servicio de guarda-equipaje, ya qué el costo de las habitaciones no es nada barato, mínimo se esperaría ese servicio adicional. Porque afuera existe la renta de locker pero esta en $150 y literal es un locker no muy grande.

Bonito hotel con balcón. Necesitas efectivo en todo este lugar. La cueva y río están a cinco minutos en carro. Es mejor visitar este hermoso lugar entre semana.

A las 11 pm se pagan las luces, no hay internet, ni agua caliente en la regadera, la ubicación es buena puesto que esta junto a las posas recomiendo llegar temprano para hacer tu reservacion ya que a medio día las habitaciones generalmente están agotadas, contemplando la temporada alta. Por todo lo demás es un buen hotel con tienda de abarrotes y restaurantes.

Es un lugar súper súper relajado al aire libre naturaleza 🏞

La habitación estaba muy limpia y el balcón daba una vista hermosa hacia las montañas del valle. Los baños de la habitación y públicos dentro del hotel estaban limpios también. Hubo demasiada gente pero de todos modos disfrutamos nuestra estancia. Las albercas estaban limpias y cristalinas.

Servicio Básico pero en buen estado y buenas condiciones de limpieza.
