Aynalı (Fırkatan) Church

For 20 TL, you can visit this historic Monastery from 500's -1050 AD. (the date is not conclusive). At the entry you will get a flashlight. Take it, you will need it as you climb up steep and narrow carved stairs to the second floor where the pigeon niches were carved into the cave wall. A definite must visit in Gerome.

Great church to explore! We were driving up to see the other church down the road, but it was very crowded with tourists so we kept going and found this one just a little further up the hill.

It's 10TL admission and they give you a flash light to use. Not a lot of decorative painting, but cool to see the multi level architecture complete with rolling stones that would block the entry way in case of emergency. Our kids loved it!

So hard to climb up the stairs to the 2nd floor but yet amazing,On the 2nd floor Their are Tunnels leading to a room where you can cover the entrance with a huge rock,And after that room their is another room you have to go to with tunnels.
