Beautiful little park for a unique safari! Best giraffe encounter! One of the best safaris for monkeys and birds. No predators here :) Go with Albert from Winnie’s Adventure! He is the best!

It was rainy season when I visited and absolutely loved the park. The wildlife here are very peaceful.
Also learnt that the park neither has lions nor cheetahs, which leaves the rest of the animals here living carefree.
Must be nice 🙂

Wildlife species to expect are giraffes, red dikers, buffalo, zebras, the blue monkey, velvet monkey, warthogs...among others.

A very beautiful national park different to other TZ national parks in a good way.

We did a walking safari. Simply took a dala dala to the road to the first gate, jumped on motorcycles and then at the gate arranged a car to drive us to the second gate (where you do the walking safari from). At the second gate they allocated a ranger for us which took us out for 4 hours in the national park. We saw giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, many different monkeys and loads of cool birds.

It is expensive, but cheaper than having hired a tour company to arrange it for you.

Arusha National Park is a relatively small National Park that covers Mount Meru. It is close to the town of Arusha. The views are very beautiful. We saw hundreds or possibly thousands of Flamingos and many giraffes and zebras. Did not see elephants. Enjoyed the game drive and the scenery.

Arusha National Park is located in Tanzania and encompasses diverse landscapes, including Mount Meru, Momela Lakes, and Ngurdoto Crater. It's known for its rich biodiversity, featuring a variety of flora and fauna. Visitors can enjoy activities like hiking, wildlife viewing, and bird watching. The park provides a scenic introduction to Tanzania's natural beauty and is often overlooked in favor of larger parks like Serengeti and Ngorongoro.

Wasn't lucky enough to see elephants, we were told they're deeper in the forrest. We did see zebras, baboons, giraffes and a bunch of flamingos.
Weather was kind of chilly early in the morning, but sun came up around noon.
Even though there were a lot of safari cars at the entrance, once you start driving, they get spread out around the park.
The guides keep in touch with each other so they can share best sighting sites.

Best experience ever! Our walking safari guide hemed tracked down a family of 13 giraffe that we got very close too! We also got very close to the Cape buffalo, many warthogs and zebras. Everything was living in harmony. He also hiked to a waterfall. Worth every penny! I don’t know why this place isn’t more talked about we had such a great experience

The walking Safari was great fun! I would recommend it any day. To see buffalo, giraffes, baboons and warthogs up close and personal is an experience for itself. We got a chance to see a rare albino baboon and some flamingos too!

Arusha National Park was really fun. It is conveniently located close to the city.

It is an ideal choice for people with limited time but want to have a full safari experience.

Both game drive and walking safari are possible. Private cars are allowed inside the part with a tour guide.

Many thinga to see inside including birds, three Momela soda lakes, many different animals, a waterfall and streams and different kinds of vegetation.

The perfect start to any Safari without having to drive hundreds of K.m to get there. Also offers easy paced walking safaris and a relaxed paddle on Little Momela lake, Great birding and a place just to get away from the hustle and bustle of Arusha town...grab a picnic basket and a bottle of wine sit back and enjoy the jaw dropping views.

Great for Mt. Meru climbers combining a walking Safari. Advice: 1. insist on walking through the animal part and not the fig tree. Amazing to have a walking safari as you start and end the climb. 2. If you know you are good with 3500 elevation consider sleeping in Saddle Hut 2 nights. This way you walk out on 4th day 13 km 2000 meter elevation drop (instead of 21km, 1000 up and 2000 meter down on climb day). 3. We opted for 4 a.m. wakeup, 5 a.m. start, 6:30 sunrise at Rhino point and then 10:30 summit. Two adults, 2 thirteen year olds. Park tries to group groups with a single ranger, then often force you to take fig tree route which is a 4wd track with some vehicles crossing you and no animals. Consider a private one for 100 dollars then you are flexible.

It's an incredible place if you want to feel like you're the only one there. It rained most of the time we were there but it made no difference to how magical the experience was.

Enjoyed this NP. Have to admit that it was our first park so we were in awe but now that we've visited 4 other parks now, we realize that Arusha NP doesn't nearly have the diversity and #s of animals as the other parks in Tanzania. Despite all this what made Arusha NP unique was the hilly terrain (Mt. Meru), the awesome weather (cool, sunny weather), the ability to do a walking safari, and the good roads where we could drive ourselves through the park in just a Toyota RAV4 that we'd rented.

The park has good vegetation so there not so many animals to be seen but lots of monkeys, a couple of lakes and a few birds
