MercyCare Marion Family Medicine

I've been going here since I was very young. When I was younger, I would usually see Matthew Fox, but now my appointments are always with Carrie Brown-Benn. I'm always made to feel at home here, am never judged for my struggles with anxiety and depression, and feel comfortable telling Carrie and the nurses anything about my health. I also like how quickly I'm able to get in and out of urgent care with walk-ins.

This is 1st of several reviews on Mercy Marion - Physical Therapy.

This department is run by Stacey Shares. She specialized in Vertical Dizziness, Knee Replacement but also does General Physical Therapy for backs, shoulders stress etc. She has keep my aging body together through Arthritis, two knee replacements, back and hip pain before and after hip surgery.

Marion is blessed to have Stacey Shares and MercyCare Marion. If you need Pyhsical Therapy and especially if you live in Marion give her a consideration. You will not be disappointed

I have gone there and taken my mother on several occasions when we couldn't get into our doctor on such short notice. We have never had to wait more than a few minutes. And the service we received has been great! Would highly recommend the Marion care site!

Worst place ever. I tried to be kind to them by bringing them flowers and treats, but they have not been appreciative enough and the clinic manager sounds like a lady from hell. I would not do business with them at all or let alone appreciate them one bit in the future. I brought flowers for a nurse and they ended up keeping it themselves without telling the nurse. They are not good people. Avoid at all costs!

They literally forgot I was in the waiting room until I finally went back up to see what’s going on. How is this place effective if you forget people? Worst urgent care in Marion.

I've been here at the urgent care half many times and I'm not sure why I keep going. Nobody seems to care about my health here and I even overheard them gossiping about my medical history and my reasoning for being there (claimed I was only there for pain meds even though that was not the case) on the other side of the door while I waited to see the doctor.
Save yourself. Don't go here.

Treated my partner very badly, and gossiped about patient medical history! Also one of those places that claim people only go for pain meds. So, if you happen to have any medical problem… don’t.

Dealing with a long term health issue and problems. I had to be referred to a specialist then needed to see them again. The office never set the process in motion for the second visit and blamed it on the specialty clinic. Had to make several phone calls to each location to figure it out for them.

Finally got that issue resolved then when it came to needing Samantha Clem's office to call me to set up our appointment to get the required prescriptions - NOTHING. They said they would call back within 10 days. It has been a couple months now I called them and asked them what was going on and now they want to refer me to another specialist even though they have the information they need because the nurse, Megan, says they do not have that information and doesn't have a recollection of our previous phone call (the last logged call seems to be from getting the damn second appt set up).

I was hesitant in getting a doctor at this location in the first place because their urgent care is awful (missed diagnosis, refusal to give a prescription my midwives office in Iowa City recommended I ask them for - to save a trip to Iowa City, and rudeness). I filled out the request a doctor form online and listed my specific needs, concerns, and diagnoses. I was recommended Samantha Clem and her office. I was hopeful but it clearly hasn't gone well.

I should have kept my care in Iowa City as I have found most of the CR/Marion area to be quite inadequate when compared to the care I have consistently recieved in Iowa City. Unfortunately that is financially not an option with gas and potential childcare cost.

I had been going to the Marion MercyCare my whole life until recently I missed a couple appointments and was told I couldn't return. I guess that's on me. While finding a new provider I have needed documents from my previous provider (MercyCare Marion) and each time I have called to get information from Jessica Clark's team, the receptionist, Allan, is unpleasant to speak with and often times rude to me when I'm trying to figure things out and hung up on me after I confronted him about it. At this point it has been a blessing in disguise to have been denied service from this team because of the way I've been treated and their lack of customer service in recent and years. I used to swear by this place and and having been a supporter for 20+ years it's sad to say it has gone downhill.

My sister, who was a patient of Dr. Bertroche, received a letter about Dr.Bertroche leaving. However your letter was not professional and left several of her patients hanging, wondering , concerned about their next step & why Dr Bertroche had left?? Your letter was plain rude and uncaring for her patients. My sister was quit upset to say the least. I addressed this concern with Dr. Bertroche myself and was relieved to find out that neither her or a family member were ill and forced her early retirement, but to find out she'd excepted a teaching position for interns. Still being able to do what her passion is helping people and now teaching. Not sure who was responsible for this letter that went to the patients but it sure wasn't taking care of them...I do hope you haven't caused too many other patients the grief of concern you caused my sister. If you can't handle a simple letter can you really handle health care concerns of those who choose to come to this clinic..RED FLAGS...you put your integrity & honesty at stake here.

Horrible service. Over an hour n a half for a scheduled appt. And then in a different occurance a matter of life or death they said they cant do prescriptions on the weekend. Neither my family or i will step foot in any mercy again!!

Disappointing a MercyCare staff member can treat patients and their family members so rudely. Avoid this location.
