Stopped to compare their cheeseburger to O’Dell’s. It was excellent. The slaw was slightly sweeter at Dairy Center and the chili was more flavorful. I liked the toasted and mashed bun. We had one with chili, mustard and slaw, and another with lettuce, tomato and mayo. Service was fast. Only six booths for dining-in and it got a bit loud, but there is plenty of memorabilia on the walls to check out. Prices were very reasonable. We decided the Dairy Center cheeseburger was the best in three places we tried in Mt. Airy.

Fun stop for ice cream. The homemade ice cream is so good! I really loved my chocolate milkshake and the rest of our group thought their pineapple orange and pineapple coconut was amazing.

Wow. What a wonderful surprise. Some friends told us about this place and they were absolutely correct. This place embodies small town NC. Its a burger place but so much more. We had cheeseburgers, fries and onion rings. One of the best burgers around. The atmosphere is intimate and you may have to wait to get a seat but it's entirely worth it. The service was excellent and the staff knew the regular customers by their first name. Don't be fooled by the outside. Go in and eat 5 star food. We can't wait to go back.

We visited from out of town and took a chance on Dairy Center. What a great experience we had. The service was fantastic all around with even the manager / owner going the extra mile to my our visit great. We will be back!

One of their services is carhop, which i use just set in your vehicle and they do everything . It's GREAT !!!

Me and my daughter went here for lunch today, the two ladies that were working were the sweetest and the food was great! We loved it, and will definitely be back

Cheap good old school food with great friendly customer service.

This place is definitely a hidden gem. If you're in Mt airy NC This place is a must stop. It appears to be a mom and pop shop. The prices are great and the people were fantastic and happy. 😃. I would suggest the spicy fries for sure.

The food is really good here as this is a local diner place in Mount Airy, North Carolina. I recommend the chuckwagon sandwich and strawberry ice cream they have. You can order from your car or go inside. Although, I wish they had a better outdoor menu with prices. You have to ask for a menu from the car hop if you sit in your car to eat. Also, please take cash to pay with because they don't use debit cards. The picture below is of a hotdog and onion rings I ordered, which is really good too.

Love the food the friendliness of the staff but is a very small restaurant . Would definitely go back. Great prices.

Such a cool place

We we're driving around this beautiful area and we drove past "The Dairy Center" we were so confused, we had to check it out. So we walked in and were greeted with super nice staff. The food was great, and the ice cream was amazing. The decor was beautiful. When we we're trying to pay it turned out to be cash only. We only had card, so they let us make a run to the ATM and get some cash. We returned and paid, this was a super memorable trip.

Long-standing establishment serving up fresh & delicious burgers, hot dogs, slaw, fries, ground steak sandwiches, and much more. I have never stepped foot inside the place. Fortunately, they offer carhop service. Be prepared to have a short wait as they prepare everything to order. Carhops are kind & efficient. Check it out!

I actually owe 10 dollars and that busy waitress a tip I forgot they only take cash but it was too late there she was with the bag of food and there I was late with only plastic sorry mystery waitress.....I love this place btw you can have your food inside and its like a 50's dinner or you can have it in your car like a drive in I love those things and it's good old down home burgers and fries type of place and they make a good cup of coffee!

I have been going there and my family for around 40 years the food is delicious I love everything about it

Absolutely love the laid back, friendly & personal staff. My Daddy introduced me to the owner which he spoke very highly of~ making the comment that the owner was one of the most generous and humble people he knew. & My father is a great judge of character. The owner had a decent conversation with my father and they spoke like old friends~casual, personal & exceptionally kind & warm, genuine southern hospitality. & very down to earth. & I have to elaborate, the genuine hospitality upon visiting this establishment meant more to me than they will ever know. It's a quaint, nice place for a father-daughter lunch. 💎 This establishment is clean, prices are reasonable and the portions of food are satisfying & very generous. I would recommend stopping in for lunch and experiencing the delicious food, friendly, fast & exceptional service. & The option to dine in or take out is convenient. Either way~ you choose, you will leave very full & satisfied.

Very good food, awesome people work here. Very kind and welcoming place. Definitely try their hot dogs
