Barney's Cafe

We stopped in Mt Aire on a trip to Tennessee and had a great time. We had lunch at Barney’s Cafe. To be honest, our expectations were low. But as soon as we sat down, we were greeted by a friendly person (sorry, do not remember her name). Then, when the food showed up, it was great. So we will plan a stop in the next time we are passing by.

Fun play on the Mayberry theme. Classic diner food that tasted great. Good service and reasonable prices.

This place is super cool. Very nice people and great food. Highly recommend you stoping in for a bite to eat or some delicious pie 😉

Just an all around good southern hospitality joint that gives a great dining experience. The tea was fantastic and so was the chocolate pie I got. Good prices too despite inflation still growing smh. Enjoyed the waitress’s company and the southern atmosphere. Felt like I was at home 🥲🤗😌

Cool restaurant with friendly fast service. I had the Mayberry Gourmet Burger, my girlfriend had the Barney Burger and we were both happy with the simple but tasty diner style burger. We had a wonderful slice of peanut butter pie for dessert.

1st visiting Mt Airy. Never watched the Andy Griffith Show and it has been fun seeing and learning about Mayberry. Small little downtown. Good people and food. At Barney's you get to put yourself on the map. Love it.

We were there last Monday for lunch for four. No wait for a table. We all liked the ambiance and relation to Barney and Andy Griffith. Most important, the food was good and down home Southern charm prevailed. We enjoyed our food and service. Definitely a do-over.

Stopped in for lunch and the food was great. We sat at the bar and had a wonderful waitress. Hubby got the Barney Burger and said it was good. My son and I had the chicken tenders and they tasted fantastic. Love how the cakes are on display on the bar and you can get a great selection of ice cream.

Enjoyable breakfast. Every thing you need was at the table, condiments, napkinsetc. Despite being a little short staffed, the food came quickly and coffees were regularly topped up. Had to wait a little to pay the cheque but overall a great experience.

My family and I stopped in for lunch while visiting Mt. Airy, Main Street. We were all pleasantly surprised by the service, food, and prices. I wanted to do more than just leave a tip, so I am leaving a review to compliment their diner. My daughter and I had the Barney burger, fries, and a soda. Others had the cheeseburger, hot dog, chicken tenders. It was very tasty. All the food was prepared fresh to order and tastes good as well. It's hard to hit a 100% on a restaurant visit now-a-days. But I can say today Barney's Cafe made a 100%, 5 star review, or pleased full family. Thank you!

We stopped here for breakfast after touring the Andy Griffith Museum and we loved it! I highly recommend their sausage gravy over a biscuit. Even though only one server was working, he was very attentive and polite. The food is also reasonably priced, especially for the amount of food we received. Stopping here was one of the highlights of our vacation!

This is definitely a place you need to stop and eat at. I had the Reuben and my husband had a burger. The Reuben was delicious and their fries were so good. My husband really enjoyed his burger and we both left too full to be able to even get dessert. Next time, we will do dessert first. We hear their fried apple pies are amazing !

A lot of small town, Mayberry feel! Food was great with cute and interesting names for Barney Feiff and friends. Prices were very reasonable.

We wanted stop in here because of the Andy Griffith Show connection and memorabilia but we were not expecting to have one of the best lunches we’d had in a long time. Between us we got the daily meat loaf special, the daily chicken casserole special, potato salad, green beans, deviled eggs, and corn bread. Soooo good! Definitely will return next time we are in the area.

This place is great. Hadn't been there in a few years but it hasn't changed. We went 2 mornings in a row while we were in area. The food , service and value is great. Everything is delicious

Good local restaurant for breakfast and lunch. We have been here a few times and they are friendly and quick service. Pricing and portions are competitive for the area. They home of the “Barney Burger”. There are lots of options on the menu. Stop in and visit when you are in town.

Really nice, small-town atmosphere, great food and unbeatable prices. Nice service at the counter. Small though, so don't expect to get a seat at lunch time if you don't come for an early or late lunch!
