The absolute best apple cider donuts! The apple fritter and apple turnover were delicious too. Great prices and tons of other homemade goodies to choose from; the produce is always fresh!

We never come to the Maggie Valley/Waynesville, NC area without visiting Barber Orchard. We came the week after the Apple Festival but they were still pretty busy. But the line moves quickly and there's plenty to look at while you're there. It's worth a visit if you're ever in this area!

We enjoyed stopping here for a breakfast of apple cider doughnuts. They were delicious and fresh. We also bought the apple bread for later, and lots of fresh produce. The food was beautifully presented, the bakery area was enticing, and there were lots of apple products. We came away with watermelon, apples, squash, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, honey, and fig preserves. It was very easy access and the helpers were friendly and courteous.

Best apples around, large varieties to choose from. Bakery shop has home made sweets that are delicious. Apple fritters, apple pies freshly baked daily. Apple cider is fresh and delicious, too. Cookies of all sorts. Just don't walk away from here without satisfying your sweet tooth. Very busy place but well worth the stop. Next time, I am up that way I am surely going to stop in. Service is friendly and willing to help in your purchase.

Delicious apple cider (not too sweet as it often happens with store bought cider), fresh and delicious apple turnovers and cider donuts, great selection of apples and berry/fruit jelly and butter.
First time here and we loved it!
The only thing we didn’t like is a really long checkout line. But I guess it’s because backed stuff is too good 😀

We were told they have a great apple fritter, this is a large apple store on one side and a full bakery on the other side. we bought bakery items and apples, A must visit if you are in the area,

Barber is not the biggest but I vote they are the best in the area. Obviously apples are the reason to visit but the bakery makes great food wprth traveling to obtain! Entering the baked food sales area requires buyers be aware they should only enter after eating a large meal or the incredible smell of baked goods will cost you a mint. Prices are generally much lower than the other orchards we visited this week and Barber had Arkansas apples (yum). Service is fast and you can watch bakers making the foods behind glass windows. Parking is comparable to the interior size and lines move fast. If you like apples and baked goods, stop by for a true culinary delight

Definitely the best price for apples in the area and the best selection but worth going for the apple cider donuts alone. They moved the Sunday rush line for baked goods very quickly and efficiently. I compared the weight of two one peck bags from this one to a one peck bag from a produce stand a little closer and they were both 3 pounds heavier from Barber than the one from the other stand.

We love this place. Best selection of apples that come from their groves. We come for the fresh baked apple pie, apple cider donuts. Like to stand in the parking lot and smell baking pies! Staff is very friendly too.

This is a must stop for us when going to the Smokies! THE best coffee is sold at their bakery where you can grind your own beans. Many varieties of apples as well as fresh vegetables such as cabbage, sweet potatoes, onions etc. Don't forget to give those apple fritters a try. I promise, you will be back

Been going here for many years for the cider donuts and Apple loaf, wanted a pie for Thanksgiving dinner, so I bought an apple pie. Wow, best apple pie we ever had! Crust was glazed, excellent.

We always stop on our way through to get apple doughnuts. They are amazing! Everything is very tasty and nice to stock up some local apples. Usually busy but fast service.

What an incredible bakery! The apple bread is moist with chunks of apple and just the right seasonings. Almost like eating bread pudding!!! The apple turnover was delicious with the flakiest pastry perfectly salted... while I loved the minced apple filling, I wished there was a choice of minced or sliced apples for the filling. I will buy a pie the next time I am there which will be soon!!! The produce looked fresh.

Great place to get fruit and dessert pies. LOTS of varieties of apples, and it's worth trying different types to see how they vary. Both locals AND tourists shop here, so you know it's good!

First time going here and we are hooked! Huge variety of fresh apples, and other farm fresh goodies including jams and honey. Then there is a bakery section with THE MOST delicious pumpkin and apple cider donuts! The apple turnovers were so light and flaky too. We cannot wait to go back to try the apple cider slushy and pies! It’s going to be difficult to wait until our next trip to Maggie Valley to come back, it would be very dangerous to live this close to this much deliciousness! Very clean and cute store with very pleasant and helpful employees!

Great choice of apples.
Other fruits and fruit products to choose from.
Great bakery goods.

Crowd varies in size. Sometimes it's very crowded.
Last time we were there we got lucky; not that crowded.

Check out the boxes of smaller apples that you bag yourself.
Great price.

Great place to get your apple fix! Maybe not as big as merciers, but that’s ok with me. I like the fact that I can walk across the street and get to my truck without breaking a sweat. Don’t hesitate to visit Barbers orchards, because if you don’t you both loose out.
