City Cafe Diner

This is a phenomenal experience, not just speaking of the meal. The environment is lively, the service is fast and friendly, the desserts are out on display, and it just feels like a classic diner experience. The food came out hot and fresh. Even the complementary bread came out with steam coming off it. And the cake!! The piece was ginormous and delicious. Just come make the trip!

My wife and I were in Huntsville for a long day of doctor visits. City Cafe was close by, so we had lunch here.
The atmosphere was great! Nice, friendly staff and we were seated immediately despite our 11:30am visit.
Our server was polite and answered our question completely. I forgot to get her name.
The price of our meal was reasonable, considering the state of the economy. I had the chili burger and my wife had a burger plate too but I don't remember which one. I'm getting old and forgetful 🤣 My chili burger came without the chili but that's alright.
Our eyes nearly popped out of our heads when our server brought the chocolate cheesecake for dessert; it was huge! We were too stuffed to finish it but it was delicious.
Definitely eat here if you're in the area. We hope to visit again soon.

I loved this place so much that I ate here 3 times in two days 😋. Such an amazing variety of food and everything we had was delicious. They even have a wonderful selection of Greek items on the menu. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

They recently renovated and it looks much better with the red and black booths. The food was great, staff was friendly, prices fair. I was a little overwhelmed by how many choices they have. There is breakfast food all day, Italian, American, Greek, seafood, and a ton of dessert options that look great. They also serve bread when you are seated so you aren't hungry for long. Portions are huge too. Kids friendly options like Mickey mouse pancakes 🥰

Such a GREAT breakfast! We were nervous when we arrived because the parking lot was jammed packed. But we were pleasantly surprised when we greeted and seated immediately. The wall by the cake display is mouth watering!!! We had the sweetest waitress who was so nice and attentive without being over bearing. I had the Mexican omelet and WOW is all I can! My husband country griddle YUM! My daughter wasn't feeling breakfast do she got the cajun chicken Alfredo and said it was AMAZING. Great service great food and quick in and out!!!

If you are ever in the Huntsville Alabama area I highly recommend stopping at City Cafe Diner. The service is great and the food is great. There are a lot of food and dessert options on the menu. Our waiter was absolutely amazing. This is real Southern Hospitality. The portions are well worth the price and the prices are not bad at all. If I ever get back to Huntsville I am definitely going back!

This was a very nice restaurant! We visited Huntsville and the people worked here were very welcoming! The menu was sooo big. So many different things to choose from. Definitely will be back!

The food is very good! Every time I dine here the food is always served hot and fresh! I had Greek lemon chicken soup & Penne Mardi Gras. The only issue with my food this visit is it was too salty, other than that all good. The raspberry cake is super delicious 😋. I recommend dining here. Ciao for Now~

This is truly my new favorite place to eat in this town. The staff is incredibly friendly and provides great service. The food is very well priced for what you get, and the selection is amazing. There is something for everyone here no matter how picky they might be. You can not go wrong with this place for any mealtime.

Best of all, they are dog friendly, and my Dog Simba is always happy here. They treat him as I do like a person.

They have breakfast at all times, and they are open. I can't say enough good things about this place. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but looks can be very deceiving. I know I now eat here at least once a week or more and have never had a bad meal or experience.

This is updated after me going here for a lot longer now and still have not had a less than stellar experience. I highly recommend it to anyone anytime.

I'd stake my reputation on this place. Just don't go in with a bad attitude because it's a positive place and you should enjoy the experience.

This is a local’s secret and I’m so glad someone recommended this place. The food is amazing!! Huge portions, casual atmosphere, and fantastic service. And the deserts…OMG!! 😋 We’ll definitely be back when we’re traveling in the area.

Let me start by disclosing that we ate here on Thanksgiving due to work and travel schedules. Despite the day and the busyness, the service people were kind, attentive, and prompt. We were seated in a matter of minutes and waited on quickly after sitting. The food was excellent and had large portions. The piece of cake she brought me was huge. My son and I ate on it till the next day. It's delicious, but enormous!!! I highly recommend. One son had the chicken tenders and waffles. He said the tenders were moist and fresh and the best he has had in a long time. Disco fries... just do it. It's a thing up north, and better than I thought it would be.

I did not visit the restrooms during this visit. They do have them though.

We ate Christmas Eve lunch here. The service was awesome! The food was absolutely delicious. They were the only place we could find open in the area, on Christmas Eve, and I'm proud we found it. When you order your food, just know, they serve "giant" portions. But, so good. When I'm back in town, I will definitely go back. And, the price for 6 people on Christmas Eve was surprisingly not too bad.

It has been a pretty busy place, but always welcoming staff the moment you walk in. The food selection is great. It arrived hot and smelling great. Our server Javier is outstanding. We ask for his area every time we visit. We usually split a meal because really we are there just for the cake/pie! As their motto states....you will not leave hungry. When in Huntsville if you do not stop here...you are missing out on a hidden gem.

Lovely diner with lots of different cuisines to choose from. I chose the pot roast special and it was spectacular! The fresh sliced bread for the table was soooo yummy as well.

Food is very good. Cakes and pies are well known here. Our service was great. Burgers were cooked like we liked them. Pasta was good sized portion. Bread comes before meal. Menu is huge to choose from.

I can't find anything negative to say, other than the food was too good. We're all so full and have leftovers to enjoy later. Service was excellent. I'm not sure how they had the food ready so fast. Everything was excellent. Had to get dessert to go.

Extraordinary food and service. I worked for the Ritz Carlton Hotel company and have traveled and have very high expectations when it comes to good food and service. City Cafe met and exceeded all of my expectations!!!!! Starting with the hot amazing bread and Lemon Chicken Cream soup.....ohhhh my goodness. The hot bread and feta spread was delicious and the soup was heavenly.

Then my dinner arrives and I enjoyed every bite of the flakey "melt in your mouth" Spanikopita, lemon potatoes and rice. Again the service was top notch (we never had to ask for anything as they anticipated our every need)🥰 I ate to my hearts delite and still had enough for another meal to take home.

Now for the best part... when you come in the front door you will be amazed by the truly scrumptious cakes that are displayed behind glass. It is the hardest decision I have ever had to make as I normally do not order dessert. I was thinking about it the whole time I was enjoying the amazing dinner. My friend and I finally decided on the carrot cheesecake and OH MY what a grand finish to a truly amazing lunch!!!

I will recommend this restaurant to everyone I know. I live 45 min away but look forward to returning again very soon!

Typical diner: good food, decent atmosphere, excellent service. Had the patty melt; it wasn't the best patty melt I've had in the area, but it was a good quality meal. The fries were great. The menu is extensive and I'm looking forward to trying more items! Lots of Greek and traditional diner choices. I didn't try any, but the desert case looked next level.

HUGE cake slice, I got the devine carrot cake! I will be eating this for several days. Yum! Have tried Lemon Mousse, Coconut cream, chocolate suicide, each cake is delicious.
Decided to eat dinner here and was very happy. We have been here two more times since the first amazing dinner. I always get the PEROGI IN ROMANO WITH CHICKEN. The portion is HUGE. It is a white creamy sauce that is not heavy. It doesn't make me sick which makes me even happier. I normally am not allowed to eat such foods. My husband got the country fried steak and apparently it is hit or miss. Once it was absolutely delicious, others it has been cold and gritty. My husband loves the chicken noodle soup. I prefer the salad with cucumbers! You must try the house bread! It reminds me of the delicate taste of Ukrainian Easter bread called Paska. Dinner for 4 adults and 2 cake slices was roughly $150.00. This is a new favorite place. Looking forward to trying the rest of the VERY LONG MENU.
