Dr. David L. Rushing, MD

Dr. Rushing is a 5 star doctor. I have Known him over 12 years.. there some office staff that is amazing.. been there as long.. But, some of the new staff members that don’t care. I can’t seem to develop relationship with them the way I did with his older generation of nurses.. compassion is hard to find.. No one respect to call me back.. it’s weeks before I get an answer.. Especially the people that answer the phone. I can’t see him when I need to reschedule. Cause my mom has surgery.. I’m at high risk. I don’t cared for this time around.. Dr. Rushing has always had that joke side but he is serious when he has to be.. he saved my life 3 times now.. one time includes me dying.. his other doctors I don’t care for from the past and putting my life in danger and my youngest child life in Danger - cause she didn’t want to deliver. If wasn’t convenient for her after the baby had indeed dropped.. her using the bathroom inside and rushing had to grab her the min he got her out and suck out her mouth before she inhaled.. I was surprised, to find this lady doctor still there after so long.. and then sending me home when my blood was septic.. and saying Dr. Rushing can take care of it in the morning.. Which without fail. He was there.. He never goes out of town or vacation and this one time- mine became serious and out of my hands quickly.. he returned to see me first before anyone.. but, they need a better phone system and better phone people.. I been hung up on.. cause they didn’t want work that day..

Dr. Rushing is very knowledgeable.. sweet but with age a little more serious now , then the first time around.. due to the staff. I’m trying to stay with Dr. Rushing but unsure at this time .. that’s the first time I ever said that in 12 years.. it’s been hard on me all the way thru and no one that I really feel close to at the office.. they don’t seem to step in and care.

I can only assume the low ratings are from patients, like me, who do not want to share Dr. Rushing with all the new comers to the area because I cannot put what these two are saying with the Dr. Rushing I know. Today, he was just as friendly and caring and gentle with me as he was the first time I saw him seven years ago (and every year in between).

He is amazing. The selfishness in me doesn't want him to stay booked so I can see him on a whim if I ever need him - but the realistic me knows he would work me in if I ever needed him to, so I'll give an honest review - he's five stars, all the way.

I had a surgery done by Dr. Rushing and at first, He was very nice a pleasant but after the surgery, his behavior was very dismissive to the point I didn't feel welcome to his office base of his dry responses first visit after the surgery... I will strongly suggest any African Americans to not go to this doctor. He is not our doctor. He seems to be that kind....So, unfortunate...

I agree with the other poster who said he doesn't care. I asked him a question and I got a 1 word answer. He also did not recommend I schedule a follow up appointment which is customary for what I was seen for. I will be switching doctors. He truly does not care about his patients. Terrible experience.
