MIX - Uptown Marion

Unique dining experience in Marion.
We read mixed reviews but decided to try it anyway.
We were not disappointed, for those that want to experience hot pot they have a nice variety of soup choices and ingredients that you may not expect to find.
The service was friendly and the atmosphere was fun and decorated well. We were there in the middle of the week (wed) so they were not very busy.

***Note: when you slide into the booth or tables watch your knees as it has to hold the electronics for the hot pot it reduces leg space (our wonderful waitress warned us so we didn't hit our knees 😉)

My wallet is so happy that I don’t live closer to this place. I love all you can eat sushi. I love hot pot. I love apps. I was very happy with my visit and I left feeling so very full.

I love their Korean food and side dishes. They also have so many other options like sushi and hot soup. Also, they have Japanese and other foods that are very tasty. They also offer gluten and dairy free options. The only thing that they need to improve is the service. The service was slow due to short staff, and other than that, it was a great place to try.

Customize your Mix experience. Multiple options for those that like sushi, hot pot, Korean dishes, etc. You can really make it your own. Staff was helpful and friendly, explaining the hot pot process and experience to me. The fried sushi is amazing as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience in restaurant at Mix.

Was looking for a hot pot place and MIX was what we were looking for! There aren't many hot pot places in the area but this one stands out as a great one. The options were numerous, their servers were great, and we absolutely loved the food. Only disappointing thing was the takoyaki....
Really enjoyed our hot pot experience here and can't wait to go back! Their menu is pretty varied too, we'll have to try some of the Korean options!

We absolutely love this place. You can even combine the all you can eat options. Friendly staff and the food is absolutely yummy.

We usually start with Crab Rangoons or the Chicken Spring Rolls. Both are delicious! Pad Thai wasn't my favorite and this is only because it was heavy on the fish sauce. My absolute favorite dish is Hot Pot. We got Spicy Traditional broth. So, so good!

Very clean, neat atmosphere. Everything we ordered was very good. Didnt realize they offered so many options on the menu. We will be back to try the hot pot!

Quality of food was excellent, workers were very friendly. A wrong dish did come out but it was corrected. Big props to the staff there working hard to keep up with the many customers that flow in.

The menu is very big with several options and diverse. There's nothing on the menu I don't want to try! I'm comfortable to say it's the best restaurant in the Cedar Rapids/Marion area for your Korean and Japanese food fix.

Definitely recommend and have been recommending to all my friends since I've visited twice now.

HUGE THANK YOU to Kyle and his team for making our bachelor/bachelorette dinner a highlight of our evening. They were so accommodating and welcoming. They didn't have to go out of their way with the extra things they offered but they did! It's one of our favorite restaurants to go to, special occasion or otherwise.

The crab wontons are out of this world. Service was great and the food is delicious. Overall it was a great experience. *Update 12/21 Went again the day before Thanksgiving. The food and service is top notch. Ordered delivery about a week later an was not disappointed. I think I'm addicted to their fried California roll ...

Mix is an extremely unique offering in Marion. They have an extensive menu.

We went to Mix for the all-you-can-eat hot pot. On Sundays you save $5 (reg $26). The catch is that everyone at your table has to do the AYCE hot pot. We will return to Mix but probably won’t do the hot pot again, because in our choosy family we will have at least one person who won’t want to do it, and it’s not worth paying for them to not do it AND buying them an entree.

The food was delicious, drinks were tasty!

We went here for hot pot with a very large group, 15+. Our servers took amazing care of us, drinks full the whole time with their bottomless mimosas!! They have lots of different options for people, we chose the hot pod, never done something like this before and it was an amazing experience!! So much fun!! Great quality meats and veggies. And you can add bottomless sushi for $10 too??? We all left extra full and very satisfied! Highly recommend this place for any to large groups to a cute romantic date, and everything in between!!! Well be going again

What a great place to eat! Love the all you can eat hot pot, the all you can eat sushi, it was real good and they have a good variety to choose from. The server was very nice and explained the hot and how it works,She was very good. The food service time from order to table is about what you would expect for good fresh food (if you want it any faster then I would say go to the many fast food places that is available to you)and the amount of customersthey had. The place is clean with an upbeat atmosphere, I definitely will be back again keep up the good work!!

I attended a birthday party here with around 25 people and was worried we would be an issue but they were able to accommodate with no lapse in service. Most of my group got the hot pot but I wasn’t too hungry so I ordered a spider roll, a shrimp tempura roll, and some edamame (although my friends loved it so much I barely got any of it) and everything was soooo good. The servers we had were attentive and personable and everyone had a great time. I will absolutely be back!

UPDATE: Since MIX’s move to Marion, they’ve expanded their menu to include more Korean entrees and Chinese Hotpot. It’s the shiz. Go try it all!!

MIX has got a little bit of everything for all tastes. But if sushi is your thing, you MUST come here. Their sashimi is next level. It’s always fresh and prepared very well. The menu also has a variety of the basic rolls and other creative items. I come here exclusively for the fresh raw selections.

Prices have always been reasonable, maybe a little high but you are getting quality. Sometimes it does take a little longer during the lunch rush, but most likely due to the shortage many business are experiencing.

Absolutely delicious. Definitely going back. Still one of our favorite restaurants. The New York Bagel sushi roll delicious.

Ordered a Large soup. It was a little bigger that a credit card. But it was pretty darn good

This place was an awesome surprise! Great menu! I will definitely be coming back for the hot pot but went with the all you can eat sushi lunch this time. $25 and I walked out stuuuuuffffed. Everything was super delicious. I had the kani salad and veg spring rolls for my app choices. The kani salad was a perfect sweet and spicy balance with great texture and the spring rolls were some of the best I have ever had. I chose the unagi (eel) sashimi and it was perfect flavor and texture. For my first two rolls I had the kaiju and sun dragon. Both were outstanding and these rolls are some of the biggest rolls Ive ever seen! I tried a popper roll that my friend had and it was also very good. Didnt make it to another roll choice as I couldnt eat another bite. Our server was awesome, very friendly and explained everything well. I cant wait to come back!
