Madison Utilities

We moved to Madison, AL in 2015. We have always had a great experience with their guys who come out to read our meters and turn on our irrigation. The water coming from our tap has been excellent. Thanks for all y'all do to ensure we have water to use. After being in the military and serving in foreign countries, I have learned to be thankful for clean water. The water in our toilets is cleaner than many countries drinking water.

I really don’t like their hours of operation, if the email they’re gonna shut you off gets buried, well you’re SOL when they come to disconnect because they don’t really give ya any other sort of notices before they do it.

That paired with their narrow office hours (not at all aligned with the hours most people would be able to see they’ve been disconnected and be able to do anything about it until the next day and I find that atrocious.

But outside of that complaint, they’re fine otherwise.

The fact they charge a $2.75 fee for paying online is travesty. With the pandemic going on you would think they would get rid of the fee. Especially with online being the safest option right now during the pandemic. Even if you use your debit card in person you are charged a fee. It is a very backwards way of operating.

The customer service I have received here has been atrocious not only will they not return my deposit , but they call my phone in the middle of the day to insult my intelligence and still tell me that I shouldn't receive my deposit back. NEGATIVE MEANS REFUND.

Horrible service. Rude office staff that hangs up on customers. Had to get all new plumbing due to them busting pipe putting in meter. They cut off water and refuse to adjust bill. I've spent over $3000 due to their mess up and they are refusing to let me speak to manager to reslolve.
