Wa-Ke Hatchee Park

We went to the dog park with our two, 1-year-old golden doodles, yesterday for the first time. The fenced dog areas are at the very end of the road, which meanders past two ponds, (surrounded by walking path with benches), and through a school area. There are 2 separate fenced areas: one for small dogs, (which we didn’t go in), and one for larger dogs, with separate entrances. The area is large enough for big dogs to run around freely, there are shade trees and shades over benches, for dog parents to relax. Buckets of water are placed throughout the park and tennis balls are everywhere. Bag dispensers and disposal bins are also readily available. Our puppies had so much fun! We will definitely be back!

Visiting this park for the first time today with my dog and myself the park has a lot of amenities such as pickle ball,tennis volleyball and plenty of room for kid's or dogs to run around just keep them away from waters edge because there are alligators in the water.
This park also has a dog park,Pavillion and restrooms which is away a huge plus all around this is a great park to visit

Interesting playground where there aren’t ladders or stairs, just rope nets connecting everything and a climbing boulder. It’s fun for kids that can do it. My 3yo loved it but I was surprised he was able to. The swings have been removed, I assume they’ll be replaced soon. The playground is next to a dog park and bathrooms and across the parking lot there’s pickleball courts.

Nice place to meet friends or enjoy the beautiful SWFL weather. Good for small kids, my teenager liked the climbing rock and rope though. This site has an amazing dog park, conveniently located near Lakes Park Regional Library. Bathrooms were well maintained too. Big plus!!

I love Wa-Ke Hatchee Park. This is a free park with no parking fee required. The park is situated in South Fort Myers on the way to the beach. The park has many amenities for adults, children and pets. There are covered pavilions with grills for parties and get togethers. There are two sand volleyball courts, multiple tennis courts, multiple pickleball courts and a large open field for field sports or activities. There is a playground for the kids with a turf ground and covered seating for parents. The park has lightning detection equipment for safety. The park also features well maintained restroom facilities. For the fur babies the park features a full dog park. There's plenty of parking and recreation center on site too.

It's definitely work checking out!

Beautiful little park for the whole family & extended family, bring the whole group for a picnic... Something to do for everyone, playground for the little's, beach volleyball, tennis, walking/biking/jogging circuit and more... Lots of free parking, beautifully maintained grounds, public restrooms... No swmimg or fishing, ponds are for the gators!

Great dog park. Great path around the pond. Watch the gators. They're not that sneaky. But they can surprise you if you're careless.

Great place to play and visit. Plenty of space for the kids to runaround, beach volleyball, space for frisbee and football plus a dog park. WARNING: there are gators in the pond so watch the kids and pets, stay on the walking path.

Pickleball every morning with a very nice group of 3.0 - 3.5 players

Closing Feb 15 2024 for total remodeling taking additional tennis courts & turning them into exclusive pickleball courts. When completed there will be 12 pball courts NO lights and on any day 75 to 80 people show up to play. Courts 1-3 are for advance players. 4-6 mixed 2,5 to 3:4 players. VERY friendly folks

The dog park here is awesome - separate areas for large & small dogs, and plenty of hydration stations!

I love the large area that allows for me to run and play with my friends. The big dogs are in one area and the smaller ones can be in a total separate gates area. I like that a water fountain is available to make sure I have enough to drink. I like to run and play hard. It nice that there is benches for my mom to sit on while I play.

Our dogs always have a great time here. For the most part almost everyone is friendly and I have never seen any problem from any dog.
Lots of chairs and benches. Shade can be at a premium, but i havent had any problems yet.
Lots of water bowls/buckets available.
There is one woman that comes with a husky and she constantly complains about everything. From what I can see her dog is a bit aggressive. Avoid her and your visit should be wonderful.

Great clean park with walking paths and clean restrooms. Big dog park right next door.

This park is absolutely wonderful... Always so clean, beautiful wildlife, and a great place to walk the dogs!! 👍

What a lovely park! The grounds are lovely with walking areas and a playground. And both dog parks (big & little one) are clean and very roomy with plenty of seating. There’s also a wash station out front and watering areas throughout. Every dog we encountered was well trained and socialized. Our big dog made lots of new friends. Everyone cleaned up after their pets and were super friendly.

My son loves the small playground. The dog area is a little small but most are.

A great spot to bring the dog! The park has both a small and large dog fenced in area where you can play ball or just hang with new friends. The two and four footed kinds ;). There are fresh water fountains for everyone and you can typically find a ball just about anywhere. The park is close for the kids near by as well.

Can only speak for the dog park part of this park, which is lovely. Very responsible dog owners. Great sized zones for large dogs and small dogs separately. Everyone seems to pick up the poop, which I'm always grateful for. Lots of water options. Shade. Toys. Friendly dogs. No unchecked aggression etc. Would absolutely recommend this if you are in the area and pup needs a romp.

Great dog park, all the owners I've met so far are responsible and their dogs are great as well. My dog always has a blast running around with them in the early morning before it gets too hot! Good amount of space, loose chairs so you can find a spot in the shade to sit. Great place to bring your dog and chat or read a book.
