Lucha Cantina

Visiting Rockford and found this amazing gem, Lucha Cantina. Located on the second floor, this fabulous spot has a bar, dining room, patio and event room. The food is absolutely delicious with the most awesome staff.

A huge plus is there are gluten free options and they can substitute any cheese with vegan cheese. Just ask your server.

This is a must, so check it out!

We hadn’t dined in at Lucha Cantina for a while, as we felt the restaurant took a turn, and the dishes weren’t quite up to our standards. However, after hearing about the menu changes, we decided to give it another try after a year, and let’s just say—Lucha Cantina is back!

We started with the Chips n’ Guacamole plus two salsas, which were a perfect way to kick off the meal, complemented by their delicious margaritas. For the main course, I had the Hongos Tacos (mushroom), which were amazing and reminiscent of the ones they had a few years ago. My boyfriend opted for the shrimp tacos, and he thoroughly enjoyed them as well.

The menu now features some mouthwatering new dishes, and the variety of vegetarian options is fantastic—everything looked so appetizing that we’re excited to come back and try more.

The environment inside has always been a little on the darker side, but the patio remains a great option for a more relaxed and airy dining experience.

We’ve always had great service and overall, Lucha Cantina has truly redeemed itself. We’re happy to make it a regular spot again! 😁

Everything here was amazing. You know in the movies and they have that first bite where your eyes flutter close and feels like your mouth just had a sensory overload that sends you in to a euphoric stage? No...

Get here... order this food thank me later. I had the gf version, no complaints at all. So delicious.

What a cool and awesome restaurant. Staff are amazing, food is delicious and tequila selection is on point. Had a delicious lunch enjoying the salsa sampler and shrimp tacos. Staff take care of you. Lot of dining room seating and a separate bar area with bar seating, high tops and some booths. Great selection of menu items. Definitely recommend checking out Lucha Cantina if you’re in the Rockford area.

Came here for dinner. Food was great services was great. The restaurant was not crowded. Had the moo peep oink enchaldas. The sauce was very tasty. The seasoning on the beef was amazing. We also had the queso and chips very good queso we tried a medium and mild salsa with the chips and queso. We also tried the Buffalo Mac.

Amazing small restaurant- everything I could possibly ask for. Never had food here that wasn't delicious, service is great, atmosphere is perfect.
Recently went on a Tuesday to try their Tuesday special, birria, and it is delicious. Definitely reccomend trying it sometime!

Lucha is my family’s favorite restaurant! Top notch service every time we have been. Very attentive to food allergies, which we have always appreciated! Food is always delicious! We recently had Lucha cater a graduation party and everything was fantastic! They delivered to our home, set up a delicious taco bar and then came back to pack everything up for us. Amazing service and the food was fabulous as always! Highly recommend for your catering needs!

While visiting Rockford, my Daughter took me to Lucha Cantina for dinner. We did the Nachos with Fresh Guacamole & Salsa for a starter. Our main entrées were, Chicken & Spinach Enchiladas, and the Moo Peep Oink Enchiladas. Everything was absolutely delicious. We were stuffed! Our wonderful server was Jacob. He was very polite, professional & a real gentleman. He definitely served us well & made sure everything was in order. We will return!

The food here is actually amazing. This is also the first place I've been to where I would say the staff is exceptional! There is a dining room and a patio for outdoor dining. The salsas are fantastic! And they give plenty of dips when you order chips. Good portions. I will definitely be coming back here.

Our family loves coming here. They have food prep options we order while we wait for our dinner. Chicken, rice and beans separate by the pound. Inexpensive and worth it. Saves my husband and I some time getting our lunches ready for the week. Christian owned so we love supporting them on top of great food. Also add a margarita to your to-go order :D

1st time there and 10/10 absolutely loveee! Maddie was such a great waitress! She recommends great drinks. I had a spicy drink I was skeptical but it was good. She was also super smiling and welcoming! The food was excellent. The atmosphere was phenomenal.

Love Lucha Cantina! Great service. Great owner. Atmosphere is aways good vibes. Chopped salad and steak tacos are our favorite mainstays on the menu. You can tell they take pride in the food they create with their specials. I’ve also hosted multiple company Christmas parties, going away parties, showers and birthdays here! I love it here.

We had the best nachos ever here, I think we might have to leave Kansas and move here just so we can eat these on the reg. Amanda F helped me craft a fruity cocktail that was bomb and the nachos just sent us to heaven after that. The salsas are weird but an experience you have to have, weird in a good way. So glad we came here!

Good food and fair prices. Many traditional favorites. We came on Tuesday for Birria night. The Oaxaca Cheese Sticks are also awesome. Great service. Parking in front and around the back.

Their Natural Margarita is the best marg in town. I also really like the quality of their rice. Love their nachos, both their regular Nachos Puercos and their Tuesday Birria Nachos.

It has been quite awhile since I’ve been here. I have literally never had a bad meal here. They have changed the menu a lot since the last time I was here but, they still have my favorite Moo, Peep, Oink! I urge anyone who has not been to Lucha come and taste the wonderful food and visit with the lovely staff! 5 Stars all the way around.

This is our families go-to for gluten free dinner. We have a family member that is celiac, and have asked lots of questions and feel comfortable with their level of care. Great food, great service, nice place for dinner!
