Dr. Wight really takes his time with me. I never feel rushed. He doesn't push a ton of medications and really worked with me to figure out the correct dosage for the one medication he did prescribe for me. I also appreciate that his staff is super friendly and accommodating. I rarely have to wait long to be seen. I highly recommend him!

Dr Wight is a very kind and compassionate doctor who has always been professional and thoughtful during every appointment. I've met Dr. Wight both in person and via Telehealth. I appreciate that Dr. Wight takes measures to mitigate the spread of contagious viruses and is generally concerned about his patients and staff. This shows that he cares about others...a prerequisite to be a doctor IMHO. Anyone complaining about a doc wearing a mask or asking others to wear one during an outbreak of a contagious virus should have brain surgery without anyone wearing a mask or gloves. Someone needs to examine their lack of critical thinking.

I have been a patient of Dr. Wight’s for over 25 years. He is knowledgeable, patient, compassionate and stays up to date on current psychiatric practice. He takes the time to explain what my medication does, and any concerns over side effects are always addressed. He has helped me remain stable in my mental disorder. I have only the highest praise for him. Recommend 100%!

I have never been happier. He worked on finding the right medicine and dosage that was the most effective. Really listened to my concerns and didn’t push. He really cares. I have never had a problem with the staff. I am no longer in network and I refuse to see anyone else and he offered a discount. I first went to my family physician with my issues and he diagnosed me wrong and prescribed me wrong. When I told him it wasn’t working and I knew the diagnosis was wrong he gave up and referred me to Dr Wight. He nailed the diagnosis right on the head on the first day. I cannot express how happy I am and would recommend him to everyone.

Ive been seeing Dr. Wight for over 5 years now and Im completely happy with him. Its hard to find a dr who works with you as a team and takes the time to explain how the medications he is prescribing effect you. Mental illness is not "one size fits all" and its also kind of him to offer samples of different meds in order for you to avoid paying the outrageous fees pharmacy companies charge. There sooo many med options and its a pain to find the right combo for your own mentality. I hate when drs treat you like guinea pigs and have terminated several drs in the past with this superiority complex. However, Dr Wight, is patient, listens, and seems to stay current on the ever changing word of medicine. He doesnt push whats "new and hot today", but what works based on you. Ive been stable thanks to him.

As others mentioned, he is not pushy. Very receptive to feedback and encouraging. I feel that he has a more holistic approach and doesn't just throw high dosages of meds at every issue. If you do need more meds or higher dosage, however, he is receptive. Really easy to talk to and not judgemental. Meets you where you are at.

Always on time with a short waiting time. He listens to what I have to say instead of trying to push every medication on me.
The only problem I have is that they do insurance differently than most places. My insurance company gives me a card with a couple hundred dollars to use every month for medical means; however, there is no way of knowing when the money in it is depleted. Dr. Wight’s office has to send your payment to a different company and then they will get back to you at a later date instead of knowing right away whether you have enough money on the card that your insurance company provides. It turns out my card didn’t have the necessary balances to pay this month, so they kept calling me to tell me that my card had been declined. Of course, it isn’t a big deal because I can just use my normal credit card, but the delay of time can be frustrating.

This doctor's office is so small and so understaffed that they only take 30% of the patients that call looking to seek services from them. I wish somebody would have told me this before I got my hopes up about even getting to see the doctor there. You will get screened over the phone and asked a lot of questions for the doctor to read and then decide if you're too much of a liability to take on as a patient. A total waste of time and energy that could have been spent elsewhere trying to find another psychiatrist. So beware this guy is just a part-time psychiatrist. If you're seeking a real psychiatrist that cares about mental health full-time, you're going to have to look elsewhere as I am.

Was told Dr. Wight was a good doctor, maybe that’s true but I had a terrible experience with him. He was very condescending to me. My last visit with him I mentioned I was buying a home in Rockford and he called me stupid for choosing to live in this city. I stopped seeing him because I felt like he never really cared about treating my condition, I always felt like he had better places to be other than sitting and treating me.

A drug pusher. Nothing more. He will hook you on unnecessary prescriptions, "free samples" and then leave you high and dry. He wouldn't even offer a chance to ween me off the drugs he kept feeding me. You don't need a psychiatric degree to know halting anti depressant medication is very dangerous. He could care less. After seeing this man I couldn't sleep for 6 months. He should not be licensed to practice. Completely Inept. Beware. Additionally, office is poorly run. Appointments are never seen on time. Average wait of 40 minutes.

Unfortunately we were not given the chance to meet this doctor, as we called twice last week, Rachel (his ‘intake’ professional admitted she had too much going on to return the call for initial intake), was PROMISED this AM for a return call for ‘intake questions’ and that we were looking at a two-three week out appt. We did finally get a phone call this afternoon, not from Rachel, but from one of the rudest and UNPROFESSIONAL ladies I’ve EVER talked to WORKING WITH PSYCH PATIENTS.
NOTE TO Dr. Wight:
I really pray to the Lord, that this woman does not talk like this with the critically mentally ill patients, you see, she is potentially a dangerous and a hazardous woman to have answering your phones with her snippy attitude and unbelievable unprofessionalism, for someone on the brink…..
Running a business is hard, but to have HER and Rachel be the “FACE” of your business, is not going to bode well for long. We would have loved to have met you as we’ve heard nothing but great things. I’m sorry you’ve chosen such unprofessional and uncaring staff members to work for you. Take care Dr.
