Scoop Lake Lure

Always great ice cream but my picture today was of the black bear next door. There were 3 cubs with momma bear and that's how you end a great weekend.

We like Scoops a lot. It is right across from the beach. Casual. Always had a seat available for us. We can bring the dog (and they have a pup cup!). Our fav is to share the banana split. You get three scoops of any flavors (if you pay a small charge) but it is plenty for 2 people easily, if not 4 especially if they are small. Going out for ice cream is never the cheapest, but an indulgent treat :)

When you order 2 scoops and the counter person says that's a lot of ice cream on your belly and you say I'm a professional ice cream taster believe her 2 scoops at Scoops is huge. The price was less than $6 which is criminal. I even told them they need to go up on their prices because as I said I eat ice cream a lot at different places and their prices were rock bottom and their ice cream was delicious and portions are portions are extremely generous. There's covered seating and picnic tables with umbrellas you can look across the lake It's a great little location and again the ice cream is delicious

Awesome views from the porch, quick and friendly service for how busy the place was, and as for the ice cream.... Carolina Mudslide (Coffee w/ Oreos & chocolate covered cookie crumbles) is my new favorite out there. Also was able to try Peach & cookie monster, both were great as well!

Not sure what’s the deal with me and ice cream especially when I see a local joint like Scoop I just had to stop and try it!
Had the scoop on the shake and it’s heavenly! We just moved to this area and I can already see myself spending a lot of time here ..

Small ice cream shop with outdoor seating. Nice view of the lake and mountains while enjoying some ice cream! Very nice and pleasant service.

Wow! For less than $10.00 we had two mammoth milk shakes that were so damn good! It’s nestled amongst some great shade trees and a nice view of Lake Lure. Highly recommend this place!

Excellent locally-made ice cream and sorbet. If you like coffee, the mudslide is really good.

Went two different days on Memorial weekend. While there was a long line, the service was super fast and our Scoop on Top milkshakes were made with love. The three young people working were awesome and seemed to love their jobs! Ice cream was sooooo delicious!

Awesome service- the kids at the counter were friendly and quick. Flavors were great, we tried the chocolate peanut butter, coconut and the vanilla and caramel. Plus they had a lot of non-dairy options. It was dog friendly and pup cups were free with purchase. We had three puppers with us and they each got a scoop of vanilla, some peanut butter and a biscuit. Essentially an ice cream sundae which was pretty stellar.

My husband and I love this Ice cream shop. If you are in Lake Lure then you have to try this place they are so good. The banana splits are sooo big 2-3 people can eat off it. But so yummy. We always visit here.

We were so glad to find an ice cream shop open past 8pm. Turns out they also serve delicious ice cream with a healthy dose of hospitality, too. Owners were friendly and generous. I ordered a waffle cone of black cherry and my husband had an almond joy milkshake which they topped with a scoop of ice cream. Really delicious all around and a nice place to sit and look out at the lake and people watch. We'll definitely be back!

All their locations are excellent! Lake Lure Scoop is our favorite after a great day across the street at the beach. Fair pricing and excellent quality ice cream in generous portions. Carolina mudslide is a must try. The employees are always nice and accommodating.

Haven't had a Rootbeer Float in years and this tasted just as I had remembered. Great Ice Cream and great prices!

We have had ice cream here a few times when we have visited the area. The prices are good and serving size is perfect. We love the location to the beach and have had really friendly service by a young man named Rhett. They have a good select but I recommend the black cherry, it's my favorite.

Wife and I go driving on the weekends and usually stop by this location or the one in Forest City NC.
Being a diabetic I always look for sugar free or low carb snacks and the sugar free "Triple Chocolate" ice cream is absolutely amazing! Can't wait for them to reopen next spring!!
Will probably have our Corvette club meet up there for some ice cream!

Worth the stop! Great homemade ice cream with your standard and some delish creative flavor combinations. It’s owned and operated by an incredibly nice local couple. M&M Ripple, Moose Tracks, and Coffee Crunch (forgot the actual name) were the winners in our family. We will definitely be stopping by again soon! This local spot near Lake Lure Inn and Lake Lure public beach is worth supporting!

Right on Ice Cream that will have you having "The Time of Your Life!" in a cool little "corner" of Lake Lure.
