We also can’t say enough good things about Katherine, our gemologist. Katherine is dedicated in finding the perfect piece of jewelry to show to her buyer. She is highly knowledgeable, open minded to ideas and genuinely happy for her clients. I think of her as a friend.
Additionally, our son visited Katherine while shopping for an engagement ring and together they created a gorgeous ring fit for a princess. Jewelsmith will always be our jewelry store.

Wonderful experience with Mary and the team at Jewelsmith getting my great grandmother’s wedding band resized and re-engraved. We ran into a bit of a mystery with the century-old rubbed down engraving, and we all had fun solving it! The outcome is more than I could have asked for and I’m thankful to Jewelsmith for helping me preserve and restore a cherished heirloom piece.

I couldn't be more pleased with my experience at Jewelsmith! I had a unique request to make a custom septum ring inspired by a gorgeous lapis lazuli and gold necklace I'd seen in the store. I wasn't sure if Jewelsmith (or any fine jeweler, for that matter) would be up for making a custom septum ring. But the team was enthusiastic about my request from the beginning, and it really felt like they were just as excited about this idea as I was.

May was super helpful, creative, and collaborative in helping me hone my vision for the design, and Phil consulted with us several times to make sure the vision was doable. They asked lots of great questions to make sure this piece would be functional and fit my face well. They also showed me in advance the exact lapis lazuli stone they'd use for my piece and helped me pick a specific sapphire to inlay into the gold that matched the lapis.

I'm obsessed with my new septum ring and highly recommend working with Jewelsmith for unique, fine jewelry -- even (especially??) if your idea is unusual!

I was recommended to visit Jewelsmith by a dear friend and I have no regrets! I got my engagement ring for my now wife there and also the wedding band. In terms of the engagement ring, I worked with Delouis who was absolutely wonderful and kind. After telling her what I envisioned for my partner, we went through a few options from shape, to color, to diamond size. She worked perfectly with my budget and was an all around kind human being to work with. In terms of the wedding band, Tracy was amazing! My fiancee was able to communicate with Tracy on what we wanted and she was very receptive of our vision. She drew some wonderful sketches of some ideas, was open to our suggestions, and even went out of her way to mail us the waxes to Philadelphia to make sure we would be happy with the product. She was always energetic, welcoming, and communicative. This process was one of the easiest aspect of wedding planning and it's thanks to the wonderful team they have there who are committed to making sure you are happy. Would highly recommend Jewelsmith to all!

I went in for a diamond ring appraisal as there are few places that will give you a value if you didn’t purchase at their store. The people at Jewelsmith were lovely, kind, and very professional. Got my ring back in about 10 days with a detailed appraisal of both the stones and gold band. The whole experience was great, and I will definitely be back to shop their beautiful collection of jewelry.

Don't know why anyone in Durham goes anywhere else for high end jewelry; both new purchases and repairs. Nice to be able to schedule times so you do not have to wait for a staffer. Always able to do what I ask for.

I almost lost my grandmother’s diamond in my old wedding ring and it was my cue to create something new. I had also inherited some more diamonds. I wanted a floral design and worked with Mary. She had wonderful ideas and helped me to design a completely unique new wedding ring. I especially love the little leaves she suggested in the corners, such a darling touch. Jewelsmith is simply amazing! Delouis and the other staff at Jewelsmith worked with us over the past 6 months to create custom wedding rings for our upcoming wedding in November 2019. The rings far exceeded our expectations. The level of customer service we received was truly exceptional. Jewelsmith has created several custom pieces for us over the past 20 years, so we did not consider doing business with any other jeweler for our wedding rings. We now live in New Jersey, and we still chose Jewelsmith. When a friend asked us why we were going to Jewelsmith in North Carolina to have our rings made, I responded, “when you see the rings, you will understand why”.

I have had many pieces designed at Jewelsmith. Their designers and goldsmiths are outstanding. Am enjoyable experience always. I recommend them to friends
