I came across this hidden gem on my way home one day. Beautiful, serene, and unbelievably unspoiled by people. Very clean and quiet. Very nice boardwalk and there's a short trail you can walk down that comes out at the street. No restrooms or anything else but there is a trashcan at the end of the boardwalk.Perfect spot for meditation after a busy day.

This is a short, beautiful nature walk perfect for the person looking to stretch their legs on their lunch break or get into nature without delving into into the woods. The road beside it wasn't too busy, so I enjoyed listening to the birds chirp along with the occasional sound of a car passing. Altogether, it was a great 10-minute adventure, and I believe you'll like it too.

You'll notice a theme here. People will complain about homeless people here yet no documented crimes. Homeless are not dangerous. They have bigger problems than to worry about you & definitely aren't going to assault you to bring attention to the one nice area they have to live in.

As for the trash. That's going to happen in any wooded area in which is populated by many & the city doesn't maintain properly.

So when you go, say hello to the homeless. Maybe even setup a drop zone for food. (Panera Bread throws out ALL their bread at the end of the day). I would rather this go to use & deliver it to the homeless to use. This makes a good location to do so. Setup an arrangement with other restaurants to do this in exchange for the homeless to keep the area clean for free. Food for trash pickup. Then the city doesn't have to pay to clean it & it can be used for all.

There are easy solutions to things if people would think a little.

We didn't see any garbage or homeless people. Felt very safe and stayed for about 30 min. The kids ventured a little then we left. Short path and but lots of nature. Couldn't follow the path all the way as it's overgrown.

Small little place. Muddy and hard to get to the pond if it's recently rained.

This is just the little boardwalk behind Walmart. If you ever drive down the road between the hospital and Wally World it’s maybe a 100ft boardwalk with a little quarter mile trail from the woods back to the road. It’s marshy and cleared in the summer but this is not a real trail it’s more like a homeless encampment or maybe a spot to walk for 10 minutes. Nice to have but really very underwhelming.

Was shorter walk than I expected. The boardwalk need to be sealed from the damaging effects of weather and there needs to be a trash clean up even if Hurricane Michael's destruction is left natural.
