Russell's Pharmacy & Shoppe

This pharmacy is exceptional! Customer service is far above what I normally expect from a pharmacy. They pulled out the stops to make my visit comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable. Getting to know Darius (Dr. Russell) was a real highlight of my visit and it was so fun to talk about the pharmaceutical memorabilia on the shelves. If you need a prescription filled, any over the counter meds or bandages, or just need a friendly face, a snack, or a cup of coffee, I highly recommend stopping by Russell's.

SECOND UPDATE: Just got a voicemail from the pharmacy with Darius and Terensia HARMONIZING while singing Happy birthday! Such a lovely touch from a caring pharmacy team!

UPDATE: I thought before this was the best pharmacy ever and I know now without a doubt that that is the truest truth. I needed an Rx filled before the Labor Day weekend but forgot to go pick it up. Darius called after business hours and offered to drop it off to me to make sure I had what I needed over the weekend when he realized MY mistake. Do you think CVS would do that......???Nope, me neither. Change your pharmacy today and change your life forever!! #russellsrocks

Best pharmacy EVER!! The staff is kind, the atmosphere is relaxed, and their service is exceptional. Dr. Darius Russell takes all the time you need to provide information about your prescriptions and also offers evidence-based advice on other matters as needed with great discretion. The pharmacy also has a free app for convenient refills and medication delivery services. I switched from a huge chain pharmacy and I'm SO, SO glad I did! I will be a loyal customer from here on out.

Not just the best pharmacy in Durham but one of the best places. Dr Russell is so friendly and knowledgeable as is the whole staff. The environment is so cozy and comfortable it feels like a big hug. Not to mention is this place immaculately clean. Dr Russell / the pharmacy also does a ton of volunteering in the community, which is one more reason to support this place. I can’t recommend it more strongly!

Absolutely hands down the best Pharmacy and staff in town. Love the fact if you call you don't have to press 10 different robotic prompts just to speak to a live person. You feel like Dr. Russell is genuinely interested in providing you with the best care and not just filling your RX and sending you on your way. Everyone is friendly and I love the option of delivery when I need it.

I had a lovely and seamless experience moving my prescription over to Russell’s pharmacy. Dr. Russell was incredibly helpful and so communicative throughout the entire process. I’m so glad to have moved over from a large corporation to a locally owned pharmacy.

I cannot overstate how wonderful it is to work with Russell's. This morning, I counted a couple of my medications and knew I'd have to get them refilled this week. I hate making phone calls, but will answer important ones, so I answered a couple hours later when I saw Russell's on my caller ID. Darius let me know that my meds were due for refill and asked about making arrangements to have them filled and delivered, going so far as to fill them today so they only have to make one delivery trip with both my and my SO's meds at the same time.

When I first transferred pharmacies, they took care of all the hassle with my old chain pharmacy. When one of the dosages proved difficult to fill, they offered an alternative that resulted in my receiving the same dosage in a different format. I also appreciate that they send out automated calls ahead of closure for holidays (Easter as one example) so that patients can make alternative arrangements for pickup/delivery.

Even though I've never set foot in the store, I can easily say that Russell's offers top-notch customer service and patient care. Every phone call, delivery, and app experience my SO and I have had has been stellar. I feel heard and cared for not only as a patient in their care, but as a person. Even if I move out of Durham, I plan to stay with Russell's as long as I can. My only regret is that I didn't transfer last year when they were first recommended to me.

I don't think you will find a cleaner, brighter, more welcoming pharmacy anywhere else in Durham. It's a delightful little establishment and the customer service is exceptional -- great prices too!

I can not say enough amazing things about Russell's Pharmacy & Shoppe. I became a customer when they opened and the care, help, and attention that they have given me and my little family is outstanding and far exceeds anything I have experienced. My baby had some surgeries and complications before he turned one and Russell's not only fulfilled everything we needed, they checked back in, answered questions, and gave me the peace of mind that my baby was in good hands and going to be ok. I completely trust the entire staff with our health needs and feel so lucky that we found Russell's.

Absolutely excellent. I have never had more kind, convenient, and competent care than I have at Russell's. Dr. Russel makes it a point to always say hello and goodbye whenever I stop into the pharmacy, no matter what he is up to. They also offer a very convenient and FREE delivery to anywhere in Durham! I cannot recommend this place enough!!!

Wow! We just switched to Russell's from a national chain pharmacy and the difference is remarkable. I know I will talk to a person that is clued in to what is going on and cares about my family's needs. I couldn't recommend more and I wish we would have made the switch sooner!

Amazing staff and customer service. I was nervous about getting my booster shot today, but all my anxiety went away when I entered the pharmacy. Everyone was nice!

And the staff member who administered the shot was caring and informative. I wish I would have discovered them sooner.

Darius and his wife continue to do an excellent job with this pharmacy. Ever since I changed my monthly prescription over to them, I haven't had any of the problems I did with my previous pharmacist. The staff is always welcoming, courteous, and professional, and they go out of their way to make sure your experience with them is always the best. Please support these guys!

Wonderful local spot full of charm and caring. Went in to get my Covid booster yesterday and am NOT a fan of shots or needles. Darius Russell personally administered the vaccine and took great care to keep me calm and comfortable the entire time. Can't recommend enough!

Ever since switching to Russell's Pharmacy, my experience getting prescriptions has been exponentially easier! Dr. Russell and everyone who works there is so kind and caring. I just had an insurance issue with one of my prescriptions and Dr. Russell went above and beyond to help me with getting answers. We had to settle the issue with coupons, which he referred me to. Also the pharm techs who work there and deliver are all very kind! Another great thing is that we get our dogs' medications through them--just a great pharmacy overall! I much prefer them over Walgreens. Thank you Russell's!

Great, friendly atmosphere where the staff treats patients like an extension of their own family! Dr. Russell offers a variety of FREE pharmacy services (delivery of meds & OTC products, medication review, blister packaging) and actual patient-centered care. Do yourself a big favor and get your prescriptions transferred here!!!

I second what others have said before me: This is a terrific pharmacy that focuses on customer care in a way that the chains simply cannot or will not. Prescription prices are the same or possibly cheaper. Darius Russell, the pharmacist, is exceedingly thoughtful and always ensures all your questions are answered; indeed, he has sometimes answered questions I didn't know I had! His wife and the rest of the staff are a pleasure. If you live or work in East Durham -- and even if you don't! -- please support this local business.

I've previously used Walgreens in the past before Russell's Pharmacy opened. You can get your prescriptions anywhere in town but you will NOT receive the type of attentive, friendly, detailed, caring service ANYWHERE else in Durham. They definitely go above and beyond to make sure your health is a priority. You can even get delivery and pre-sorted pills organized for your convenience. Support local, it's good for them and YOU!

This is a great pharmacy, and I'm so happy to have it in my neighborhood! I love that my pharmacist knows me by name and takes the time to help me with my medicines. Everyone who works in the shoppe is friendly and makes you feel like a real person and not just a number in the books. I highly recommend Russel's Pharmacy and Shoppe!!
