Sam's Southern Eatery

This is my 3rd time here, and the food is pretty good. The fried chicken wings are my fav, the crunch on those bad boys I haven’t experienced anywhere else ! I tried the fish today; again it’s the crunch for me😁. The Mac and cheese isn’t the “down south grandma cooking” Mac and cheese but it’s cool.

First time here, glad we decided to give them a try. I ordered the hamburger and fries and my daughter had the chicken sandwich and fries. Everything was really good. The service was even better. They greeted most customers by name which is always a plus for me, creates repeat customers. We will definitely be back.

We have ordered delivery three times. The order is always 100% correct and absolutely delicious. We had fried fish, jumbo and small shrimp, gizzards and Mac n cheese. Everything was spot on delicious! Thank you for awesome food!!

Best food for the money, hands down in Durham.

You get really good portions and everything I have had so far has tasted really good.

This is the only small, quick-bite spot in Durham that I feel comfortable ordering fish and seafood.

I have ordered at least 3 times already!! I really like that 2pc fish and 6 shrimp combo. Always fresh and hot! and there cakes ain't bad either. I like that Pineapple cake tho :-)

Hands down one of the best quick restaurants in Durham. Their fried and grilled fish and chicken options are always perfectly grilled/fried and seasoned. Add to that delicious sides, larger portions, and a friendly clean environment and you have a perfect candidate for your second kitchen.

Always remember to get some of their Cajun seasoning with your food as it brings it all together.

I always order the grilled fish po boys combo however I switch up the fish sometimes. The fish is always seasoned perfectly, which is hard to achieve with grilled fish sometimes.
I moved from Durham so I had not been here is a while. This time I tried the catfish po-boy with extra sauce ( I love their tarter sauce) and fries. The portion for the prices is unbeatable and appreciated. They always give you that extra piece too when you order po-boys, gotta love it. I realized the changed their fries too, they’re the breaded fries. They were great, “Sam’s stick with those please “ lol.

I had been here years before and was over charged for the meal.
This time there was a different staff and atmosphere in the restaurant.
The clerk was kind and helpful. The place was clean.
I didn't see any bathroom signs so i used my sanitizer.
The gumbo was great!!! I will come back for that dish again.

It was my first visit and I did not know what to expect but the food was great. Lots of food for your buck. I love how they leave a roll of paper towels on the table to keep your fingers clean. They even gave a 10% discount for checking in on Facebook. Will definitely visit again.

That shrimp po boy with grilled shrimp goes so hard😂😂😂 bro made that with love, fries seasoned, shrimp fresh, bread solid, damnnnn son it kinda tasted like a healthy big mac idk how to explain it😂😂😂

2022 May voter's day. Outstanding place. No heavy traffic but patrons are loving their food. Good eats, great service. More to come.

Excellent service, great meal for whole family

This was my first visit. I placed a future order. The cashier was very nice and accurately took my order. Next day, picked up my order which was ready at specific time. Family and friends expressed total satisfaction of the taste and appearance of the fish. Potato salad and coleslaw were good too. Will use this restaurant again for big events.

Very clean inside; the lady working was very helpful and went out of her way to answer questions. Food is delicious!

They are really good, fast service and great tasting food. Very solid, busy place. I seen some sheriffs sit down and eat there, had me thinking must be a talked about place with officers stopping by to eat there considering there are other options like Church's chicken in the area. Worth stopping by here and not to fae from the highway either!

Clean friendly environment- the cashier was very pleasant and efficient. They where out of fried catfish so I had to get whitenings - I really wanted the catfish but the whitenings looked good and smelled amazing. They also had nana pudding and oldskool 1990’s music playing. Brought back the days when I would have been out on a Friday date night. Overall 6stars - I will do the taste taste when I get home and report back.

I haven't been back to my hometown of Durham in 5 years but sam's is a genuine surprise. I loved the food and the lady at the drive thru was super friendly and professional. Keep up the quality and the customer service and this is the place to stop near the village for sure. Don't be scared this soul food is top notch and being a foodie I have tried everything once and I loved the flavors. I was impressed. Well done . Nothing but 5 from me!
