Key West Cuban Coffee

Loved the breakfast bowl that I had! It was just what I needed. This is not one of the restaurants I typically eat at but whenever I go I am never let down. Hands down, the best latin food I’ve had here in the Keys!

Mmm, mmm mmm! Just good, honest food. So good, in fact, that after breakfast, we went back for dinner. Breakfast - my breakfast bowl with scrambled eggs, avocado, pork, rice, beans and salsa verde was just what I needed after being active and only having baked goods to eat the first couple of days. Later, I had fresh fish tacos that were sooooo tasty. My husband had the spicy shrimp and loved it. Did I mention the coffee? Dark, smooth, and rich Cuban coffee was so great, I had some with dinner too.
Chill atmosphere, super nice people, and good prices too. Go try it!

My husband and I shared a cuban sandwich and key lime pie. They were both delicious! It was the best key lime pie we’ve ever had. Definitely recommend!

Great place for breakfast. We really enjoyed the cheese omelet with onions, tomatoes, bacon and salsa verde. We Also tried the cheese toast which was delicious loaf bread with melted cheese in the middle. Much like a grilled cheese but better. The Cuban coffee Cafe con Leche was very tasty strong coffee. We ordered ours without sugar so it is much like an espresso half milk. The place is small but clean and our servers were very attentive. Worth the visit and would return for sure. Of course we dug in before I remembered to take the pic but the serving size is more than enough.

First meal came for the food, then went back (and back again) for that and the experience. The owner is such a delight and the food is fantastic! You won't regret going!

One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had, and even better atmosphere and service. The staff is the sweetest ever. The chorizo is spicy and delicious!! We are in key west for 4 days and we plan to come back every day!

Skip Sandy's and Cuban Coffee Queen - which are good - and come to this local joint just off of Duval for the best. Their Cuban sandwich paired with a colada (quad espresso with sugar) was the perfect ending to my Key West trip.

The best Colada I've had since my visit to Havana! Such a nice coffee shop and the people are so friendly. I didn't get a chance to try the food, except the key lime pie, which was amazing! And I don't say that lightly. The drinks were superb and I couldn't help but leave with one of their cute T-shirts for my fiancee. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in Key West.

Wow, what a great café in the heart of old town Key West! Everything looks great. Couldn’t decide what to get. We did get the huevos rancheros breakfast. Best I ever had, homemade Rancheros sauce never had it so good. Also, the Cuban sandwich is rated the best and all Key West and it lives up to that rating. Service was outstanding. Not a big place but the best place. Ordered breakfast for two dine in and a breakfast sandwich to take home. Bring your appetite. Plenty of food at a very reasonable price.

The Mrs. treated me to a birthday celebration in Key West and we just happened upon Key West Cuban Coffee. The food was awesome and the customer service…incredible! They serve breakfast thru dinner and have an extensive menu so, in four days we visited the spot 3 times.

The best key lime pie I and my wife had on our Florida trip! And we had a lot of them. The only pie that had small fragments of zest. Coffee was good too. I totally recommend this place!

One of the few places that are open for breakfast on Sunday? We tried two places before this and they were both closed so I guess third times the charm? Anyways their food was the last meal we had in Key West and I wish it was the first because we probably would've came all weekend. The iced espresso with sugar and milk was CRACK!!! SO GOOD. I've never had coffee that good before. The shrimp bowl was to die for. SO much food. I love that it is family owned as well. The owner was super sweet. :-)

This place is the best food in Key West, and that’s saying ALOT. It was so delicious that we went back to make it our final dinner while visiting. We had the birria quesadilla, birria tacos, Cuban mix sandwich, fried plantains, and fried cheese (over several different meals). The staff members are extremely friendly and inviting. The food is made fresh and comes out hot! Don’t trust the bad reviews, those are people that will never be happy with anything in life. We heard the people next to us complaining because the meal came with two pieces of toast. Really. This was our first trip to Key West and I will be back for this food. Do yourself a favor and try it out, I promise it won’t disappoint.

We came here for brunch while staying in Key West. There was no wait for a table and service was fast. I ordered the Cubanito sandwich, as I love Cuban sandwiches but haven’t had an authentic one before. It was easily the best Cuban sandwich I’ve ever had. The pulled pork was juicy and flavorful and the other ingredients were fresh. Another member of our group ordered the same thing and loved theirs too. The others ordered the chorizo breakfast sandwich, which they enjoyed. Highly recommend coming here if you’re in Key West!

The Chorizo Breakfast Burrito is absolutely incredible. I've had many, MANY, breakfast burritos, and I think this is the best I've ever had. Possibly the best breakfast in all of Key West, which is saying a lot, as I've had many exceptional meals here. DO NOT miss this! Also great coffee, and the nicest staff anywhere. I'll miss this place!

Firstly, the huge menu gives you a variety of options. We opted for the beef empanada, shredded beef arepa, and homemade Mexican chorizo breakfast bowl. Putting avocado on the side of the bowl yielded a full avocado in a small dish, they are very generous with that.

The empanada ($5) was absolutely gorgeous, crisp, slightly spicy and sweet to boot. The salsa verde is made in-house and packed a gentle heat that should be guarded at all costs (it's that good!)

The arepa was a white cornmeal, the filling dripped with flavor that leaned sweet but contrasted well against crispy pan.

The bowl was epic, red beans and rice set the base, chorizo, eggs, peppers, and onion, topped with a layer of cheese. I'm unsure how they incorporated sweetness into every bite, perhaps a bit of lime as a balance, but it was marvelous. The avocado added creaminess that contributed to a well-rounded bite.

We also grabbed a Cafe Con Leche and an iced Mochacchino (Chocolate syrup base), both rather good. Be aware, if you get something sweet or add sugar, it will be SWEET.

one of my favorite breakfasts in a long time! we got the breakfast bowl, tostones y queso with nicaraguan salad, and a chicken empanada, along with a cortadito and a cafe con leche. it was all really delicious !!! the coffee was strong and so good, and i loved how perfectly the tostones y queso were fried. the nicaraguan salad was probably my favorite part, I was really surprised and happy they had it here as a nicaraguan bc I don’t often see nicaraguan food just anywhere. overall I really recommend it !! great price and great value, and amazing customer service :)

This was our first time to come to key west. We were told you must try the Cuban coffee. My wife and I are so glad we did. The coffee here was amazing. Some of the best coffee we have ever had. We ordered the Cafe Con Leche. It had such a unique flavoring. No bitterness at all. Highly recommend stopping in.
