I started instructing academic courses at the College of Missionary Aviation around 3 years ago (I’m a retired Naval officer/flight officer instructor), just after the previous college president left. I have been quite favorably impressed with the character and professionalism of the new college President, a retired senior Air Force officer. He has a heart for missions and students, and I have found him to be extremely forthcoming and trustworthy. The college is blessed by his leadership and appears to be headed in the right direction. The program is very efficiently run under his new leadership, and I can’t imagine a more cost effective program for entering the field of missionary aviation, if that is your calling. Take a tour of the facilities and talk to staff and students. I think you’ll be favorably impressed by the program, quality of instruction and Christian leadership.

I have been involved with the College of Missionary Aviation for several years now as a board member, volunteer staff, and faculty and I can honestly stay that it is a great school with a team of volunteer professionals serving the Lord by training missionary aviators and mechanics for the mission field. If you or someone you know is being called to missionary aviation, I highly recommend checking them out.

I have been attending the CMA for over a year, and am very pleased with both the flight training and the classroom academics I have received here thus far. However, what I appreciate most about the college is the Christ-centered attitude here. This is truly a body of Christ; through many personal trials that I have faced in the last year, the faculty and my fellow students have always had my back to encourage and support me in my relationship with Christ. It is exciting to be able to work for a common goal with other believers, and I'm grateful to be a part of what the Lord is doing here at the college.

In my career I have traveled a lot and have also helped many charities as well as mission programs. I came across this school while traveling and visiting a friend in the Jacksonville area. I was very interested in the goals of the program and after reading very positive and some not so positive reviews, I found it very interesting that when an organization is operating under what seems to be the a true calling or following God's will that the views posted on the reviews can be so different. So, I decided to do some research on my own. In addition to the research, I also noticed that the students and staff have recently been flying missions to help with the recent relief efforts needed from the storm.

In closing, I made it a point on my recent trip to anonymously talk with a few staff members (even a guy cleaning the floor in the hangar who I told I needed directions), former and current students. I was very impressed with the overall outlook of the goals and direction of the current and former leadership of the school. It is my hope that if someone is truly following God's path in their life, that we can do the right thing, help others, show love and God will take care of the rest.

I spent the day with the staff and I am very impressed. I have worked in Aviation since 1999 and this is one of the best organization for Christian missionary aviation education I have seen in a long time. They have a heart for giving students the very best education. The airworthy Aircraft all looked in great shape. The mechanics working on them are guys who have twice my experience in GA aircraft. Make a trip and check them out for yourself, if this is what you want to do don't pass them over until you see the operation for yourself. I am an AandP plus I have a degree in Aviation science. I can not say loud enough how these guys and ladies will change your life for Christ if you have a burden to serve. God bless you all.

I applied to dual enroll as a home schooled high school student and college student in January of 2018. After an interview with the President, Tim Huggins, I was accepted to begin in that quarter. I took two courses at the college, a Computer Skills course and an Interpersonal Communication Skills course (for 5 credit hours). These courses met once a week for three hours each and were taught by Professor Cameron Mansell.
The classes were very educational and well taught. I learned a lot and the writing assignments were challenging and the staff was friendly and inclusive. I also went on a few orientation rides in the college’s aircraft and did volunteer work in the hangar washing planes and helping to move them around.
The college’s hangar is very clean and well organized and the planes are well taken care of.
The accelerated learning track at the college is very effective and at the quickest you can finish flight training and other missions training is in 2 years, (to get a bachelors degree).
The flight program is excellent and affordable, and the flight instructors I met are professional and friendly.
Overall, the college is an excellent way to earn your commercial pilots license, and a great learning environment to earn a bachelors of science, (Missions with an emphasis in aviation.)

Had the privilege of visiting the school and the hangar. Loved the spirit I felt meeting some of the staff. God Bless your work and your lives.

I held a staff position in 2014, 2015, and part of 2016, in the flight training and aircraft maintenance programs. There were some problems, but to be realistic, it's quite a challenge to set up a program like this and get it accredited and respected in the Mission Aviation Community. The founders of this nonprofit had Godly goals to serve the Kingdom of Christ, and we in the local community appreciate that. In our community, we have some amazing clergy and missionaries that are volunteering their time as professors at the college. As a Christian and Aviation Professional in the local area, I get asked if this college has a good program. My answer is, "Almost".
The website has recently been updated, but the cost clarity, that many of us have been waiting for, is still not there. The $13200 for tuition (by-the-hour@$110) is certainly easy to grasp. The "flight portion" is less clear, but could be fully explained if transparency is important. A relevant question for a prospective student would be, "How many hours in an actual aircraft will I be paying for, and what is the hourly rate for the aircraft and/or instructor." Under previous leadership, the students were literally paying for flight training by the month, instead of by the hour, with no written policy regarding refund for unused flight training hours/dollars. It was a mess! The current 'flight portion' verbiage on the website is still very vague. This is inappropriate considering the past history.
Because of our prior investment in the students and the non-profit, my wife and I are praying for success in this worthwhile endeavor. We are looking forward to maintenance, flight training, and financial practices and procedures being put into place and published for the benefit of future students. ---D&D

This review is regarding the current school administration and will remain up as long as the current administration remains in leadership. The character of the current college president in unbecoming of a follower of Jesus or a person in the leadership of a "Christian" college. If you are inquiring into the details of the school program beware of lies and false advertising. Ask as many question as possible into the details of the way finances are handled and the way decision are made about the direction of the college. The school is not under any true spiritual authority. The college president has been confronted on numerous occasions regarding his lack of character in many different facets of life and has continually dismissed rebukes. The college president is a law unto himself and does not truly answer to anyone except his "yes man" board. The school president regards safety in flight operations and aircraft maintenance as secondary to mission. This fact is well documented in various decisions he has made regarding flight operations and aircraft maintenance.

If you are considering coming here as a student or faculty/staff I strongly recommend doing your research on the college. The college president over steps his authority and tells students who they can and cannot talk to. Do not assume you are being told the truth by the college president. Look up the school on Glassdoor.
