Great place for photos, beautiful. If it’s snowing Wear waterproof shoes if you’re not from the area and used to having slushie feet. It was absolutely freezing but a beautiful day where we were able to get some wonderful scenic shots of the family. Recommend a hot beverage to have if it’s snowing. I’m not local and not used to snow so it was tough for me being a Florida girl but it was worth it.

This is a fabulous year-round destination for dog walkers and nature enthusiast. It’s not uncommon to see kingfishers, grebes, mergansers, and other birds here. This city has done a lot to enhance this open space in the past few years which has been really helpful. The trail improvements make it easy to walk and they are fun opportunities for engaging and play like the stump structures. Bring the kids and bring a picnic!

Oxbow is one of my favorite open spaces in Loveland. It is quiet and peaceful and I have seen a lot of wildlife there, including deer, hummingbirds, wild turkeys and fireflies. It is a great place for a short hike or bike ride, and a great starting point for riding on the Loveland Recreational Trail loop.

Some of the other reviews have outdated or incorrect information. Parking is 100% free at the trailhead and new parking spots have been added along Rossum Rd. There is also a restroom and two bike racks, as well as a bike repair stand with tools.

There are two sides to the natural area, one on each side of Rossum that are great for hiking, and mountain biking is allowed on some of the trails. There are also picnic areas including two picnic tables. Dogs are allowed on leash.

Super small little natural area with some gravel trails right by river that you can walk on, hike or bike on.
