A beautiful hike in Colorado. Stunning scenery on show at the Devils Backbone trail. Easy for families too. Popular for horse riders and off road cyclists. Nice walk up to the keyhole. Highly recommended hike.

This is an extra wonderful kid or dog friendly hike. The hogbacks which form the Devil's Backbone are a western landmark but you can't climb them . This is an especially good place to bring friends or family from out of town looking for a Colorado outing. There's a bathroom, water fountain and dog water fountain. There's more than one trail system to choose from so you can choose easy kid friendly or a longer hike past the hogbacks for those looking to extend their outdoor experience.

I love that they have a trail for those who want to ride bikes, and those who want to walk. It was a nice walk with a slight incline. The trail is super easy to follow. The place was pretty packed when we went, but thankfully we were all pretty spread out on the trail. Neat place to visit with some beautiful overlooks. We came in December and still got pretty hot going up the trail. On the way back it's definitely not so bad.

Great hike with great views. $10 parking per vehicle if you don't have a pass.
Bring water and know that it's probably going to get hot! We went in the morning and had a beautiful walk, but it was getting warm as we were heading out.

Fabulous hike that's not too strenuous. The keyhole is a great place for photos. The only downside is that it can get somewhat crowded at times. But the scenery makes it worth it in my opinion. Be careful in high heat because there's almost no shade.

Excellent trails with various levels. I think Laughing Horse is my favorite ... I wiped out on it the second time around. My second favorite would have to be Indian Summer. Amazing views. Great Parking and secure. 10$ for 36 hours ... But you can't park overnight. Review in one word. Beautiful.

BEAUTIFUL trails and area. Various vegetation, bugs, and birds to see on whatever trail you chose. Keyhole is the easiest and shortest and worth it especially with kids/dogs. If you have more time, and more water!... keep going! More strenuous loops are ahead- my favorite is laughing horse- absolutely beautiful! I was lucky and had overcast sky which helped keep temps down. Be prepared with plenty of water and probably some snacks if you go further.

Great, family oriented space. Hiking, biking, trail running. Go when it's cool, there is no tree cover here. The rangers are super helpful too! Dogs are allowed, but must be kept on leash. Take plenty of water!

Great space for a hike. ~4 mile loop that is great for children. Use caution on warm days as there is no shade and rattlesnakes are present.

Beautiful area, easy trail. It can be crowded at times though. Dog-friendly, if on a leash. Different paths for different activities. Bathrooms in the parking area. The sun gets intense, so protect your skin and stay hydrated.

Great local hike on the west side of Loveland. You can't beat it for how close it is to town. Theres a short easy hike to one side and a longer moderate on the other side. Excellent distance trail for bikers and runners.

I've wanted to explore Devil's backbone for years and finally did. Coolest rock formation and well marked, well maintained trails for hikers, bikers and horse back. Zero trees or shade cover once on the trail, so be prepared for that. Park now charges $10 park fee due to over-use during pandemic, but honestly don't mind that, it keeps it well maintained presently and for the future. There are bathrooms and water fountains in the parking lot as well.

Excellent hike for both novice and advanced hikers. There is a $10 parking fee unless you have the annual pass.

The trail goes well beyond the Backbone formation so it can be a short or long hike whatever you want.

You can also hike all the way up to Horsetooth if you wanted.

With a couple thousand acres and beautiful open, clear air, this is one of my favorite places to go. This park is absolutely beautiful. There are many miles to hike, run, bike, or walk. This is also a wonderful place for photographers. As a runner and a photographer, I love visiting this area. There is a lot of wildlife, nice cleared trails, and many great views. I have spent hours and hours here enjoying it!

Easily accessible, relatively easy trail(s) with some beautiful views. Very exposed so take caution going when it's really hot and sunny, especially with dogs or anyone susceptible to heat

Multiple trails/loops to hike. There is a nice parking lot with restrooms and maps of the trails. There is a trail for bikes and horses. Easy walking paths. The wild loop goes uphill for quite a bit but this will take you to the keyhole! Most of the photos are from the wild loop. Beautiful scenery!

We love going around the Devil’s Backbone area. The rocks are so cool to look at! Our kids love going to the keyhole. It’s a fairly easy hike and all four kids have done it multiple times. Even had our family photos taken here years ago! It’s a great beginner hike with worthwhile views at top!

It was so nice! Not busy, we came on Monday around 2pm. Hiked with our dogs and son up to keyhole. The view was wonderful, saw 2 bucks then 4 female deer.

Beautiful, great trails (rocky), views of the mountains. Careful of rattle snakes during the rattle snake season, area is popular for snakes too. I don't bring my dog here during the summer, after it gets below freezing at night then I feel more comfortable taking them here.

Great place to go for a free hike and its very clean! I would go here any day of the week as long as the weather is holding up. This is a great place to stop especially if you have been on a long drive going to the Rocky Mountain National Park. Stop here to stretch you legs take a long or short walk.
