We usually call in our orders and pick up at the restaurant. When you call ahead you can expect it to “be ready in ten minute.” They never keep us waiting. We even love to dine in once in a while. You can always count on the food being just as amazing either way you take it. You still can expect it to be ready in 10 minutes or less. They serve it to you in these dishes that are so pretty in my opinion. They’re simple dishes, but I still like the aesthetic they bring to the presentation. They offer self serve drinks and utensils. Chop sticks available behind the counter if you ask for them. The first and last thing you see when you enter and exit are the beautiful plants they always have on display. I also like that you can see the food being prepared in an open kitchen right behind the counter. My go-to dish is always Shrimp Broccoli that has a delicious brown sauce, tasty jumbo shrimp and comes with a generous side of white rice.

I have been going to China Star for over 20 years now, which is an absolutely wild realization. General Tso’s lovers, I dare you to find any Chinese place in Springfield or beyond that serves better General Tso’s. I’ll wait. I don’t think you will find any better.

Best Chinese food in town and around the area for that matter. Good eggrolls, general Sao, beef n broccoli, crab rangun ect. All good I've gotten from here has always been very good. prices also aren't too bad. Store is always clean. Super fast carry put. Everytime I order, regardless of what time or how busy they are, they always say it'll be ready in 10 minutes.. and it always is. highly recommended.
also, never choose Panda Express over this, theres no comparison.

General Tso, sesame chicken, egg rolls, sweet & sour chicken, cream cheese rangoon, and fried rice are all great. Food is always hot with big portions. Combos and lunch specials are good deals.

Had the Shrimp Lo Mein, all I can is it is really really good. Of course most things from here are outstanding but the Lo Mein was really outstanding.

Ordered the house special fried rice. Tasty as always.

So fast on lunch it was awesome employees have much enthusiasm about work.
Serious about work but smiling while dealing with costumers.
Food was quite a bit better than my last review but .I came back over the past 3 months 4 times and the service and quality where consistent, prices are reasonably below the quality of the food.
That being said I will be back soon.

Top grade on price and service.....

This place is cool, clean and friendly. I highly recommend it from a guy who like to eat out a lot. There's more focus on getting the meals prepared so don't expect a lot of pampering over you after delivery you gourmet dish. The food is not over or under cooked and the vegetables are fresh and crunchy.

Clean restaurant with professional, well-dressed staff. My take-out order was ready in fewer than ten minutes. The food was very savory and FRESH. For example, the egg roll was the best I have ever had. It didn’t taste crunchy and overdone, as is often the case at Chinese restaurants in small cities. My wife is not a fan of Chinese food, but she is now a fan of China Star. We will certainly purchase from them again, and soon!

The food was really good and the service was fast for them being busy.

I've been going to China Star for years. They really do have the best tasting Chinese food in Springfield. The only problem is that they intermittently use flavor enhancers such as Accent or MSG. I have a relative who is extremely allergic to MSG. There wasn't any issues a couple of years ago, but lately China Star has been adding the MSG to their dishes again and it's caused some major health issues with my relative. I wish there were menu items available without it.
Otherwise, it's the best place to go and the staff is amazing and hard working.

This is a great place for lunch on Springfield's north side. You can have a hot and fresh meal for under $6 if you order water. The staff is attentive and they do a great job of keeping the place clean. Typically there is space available for small groups of 3-4.

China Star always has amazing tasty food. It never takes long to make it and freshly made to order. They are friendly and it's always clean. Generous portions. Only Chinese place in town we eat at.
