I checked this area out on a cool December Sunday. The loop is a little over 11 miles. During that time, only 3 vehicles passed me. It looks like they close several gates starting in October to limit vehicular traffic. Nice, secluded, and peaceful running spot. There is not much shade along the river so be prepared for some sun, but it’s peaceful and pretty.

Great gravel riding trail. Well maintained in that crusher gravel appears to be added frequently to avoid bumpy holes and the grass is kept mowed near the trail. Parking has never been an issue for me but then again, I seem to go when there are very few riders on the trail.

Great Place to do some gravel riding. "Close" to my neighborhood as well. The trail around the lake/swamp was wet when I went the first time, but it is a gravel trail so I kinda expected it to be.
