This is by far one of the best parks in NC. It is kept to a high standard of cleanliness. It has different types of activities to spend an entire day. Walking trail is beautiful. There is shade on most of the trail, so you can walk in the middle of the day. Highly recommend it. Thanks to the staff for such a great job.

I absolutely love this park and lake. Plenty of parking, surrounded by trees and trails and honestly, the nuclear reactor is just cool.
The lake wasn't super crowded which was surprising seeing how large it is and centrally located. There were several paddleboards, kayaks and fishing boats. I will definitely be going back.

I have passed the entrance to this park many times as it is very close to my house but finally decided to give it a visit. I'm so glad that I did!

I have a disability where I cannot walk for too long, but there were paths that were short enough for me to get the full experience of the park without causing me physical repercussions.

I absolutely love the little swampy like ponds and it is a great place for bird watching if that's something you're interested in. I was only able to explore a small part of the park and plan to use this summer to experience the entire thing.

This was our third time coming here. It is always so nice!

We came here on a busy Sunday and we were still able to find parking. The park itself is easy to find and is far back from the main road. The park has a hiking trail, 3 mountain bike trails, shelters, and a nice playground.

There is a 5 mile walking trail that loops you around while staying fairly close to the water for most of it. There are a lot of places where you are able to walk to the water for some great views! Looks like there was some neat places to relax- we saw several folks who had hammocks put up!

There are turtles here as well. We found a little guy right in the middle of the trail!

We love it here- it was great to spend the day to unwind!

Such a refreshing spot for mountain biking, Kayaking, boating, fishing, tubing and pretty much anything the outdoor enthusiast are in to. If you like nature and would love to explore outdoors, you'll find something that you'd enjoy.
The park offers great mountain bike trails for beginners and intermediate level bikers. The trails are well maintained and clearly marked with mile markers and signs.

Fell in love with Harris Lake. First time there to kayak. Driving into the park, everything was clean and manicured. A lot of sections to the park with different for different purposes, disc golf, fishing, playground (currently closed for covid), the picnic area is big and spacious and GORGEOUSLY manicured. The parking area is shaded which is a nice change. Usually when you park your car for kayaking the lot is sun bleached and your interior COOKS. Not to mention loading and unloading in the sun can be hot.

Be warned that you have to walk your boat 100+ yards to the put in area, you can’t drive your car down there and unload. It’s a wide, flat grassy/rocky path but can be an obstacle. Recommend a kayak cart/more than one person for the bigger, heavier boats. Plenty of scenery in the big lake to paddle around. Beaver dams, the shoreline, and birds. It’s a big lake, shared with motorized craft though. The top half/third of the lake is on the other side of a low bridge so motor craft tend to not go under the bridge. Great place.

This place has lake and playground. Best place to experience peace and enjoy outdoor games with loved ones. There is big playground where we can play almost anything. There is nice fishing pier. Views around this place are amazing. This place has restrooms and everything is wheelchair accessible. There is no entry fee. There are 2 big party places (60ish capacity of each). Both are with first come basis. Good place to chill on afternoons and having lunch in woods by lake.

We came here for a trail walking, the peninsula trail is about 5 mile long. It’s pretty flat with little elevation, well shaded and has a lot of benches at the beginning/the end of the trail. If you walk clockwise, the water will be on your left for almost 4 mile long, you’ll see some little ponds on your right, where you can find turtles frogs toad and even snakes! Very nice park with clean bathrooms. A lot of people come here to bike, kayak/ paddle board and disc golf.

I love coming here to walk my dog. Just a very nice and serene walk, the only downside is after some rainfall, the pathways can get a bit muddy. Still highly recommend, they even have a small park area for the little ones and great bike trails!

Great park. 4.5 mile nature hike by the lake.lots of wildlife and not a lot of people, makes for a very peaceful hike. Picnic tables with grills, volleyball cort, playground for the kids, clean bathrooms and about 10 miles worth of mountain bike trails. Love it.

Very nice 680 acre park with hiking 🥾 trails, frisbee golf , fishing , kayaking, playground, and pavilions . They also have a mountain bike area with different levels : beginners relatively flat .7 mile train, Intermediate with narrower riding trail and changes in elevation 2.9 miles, and Advanced where experienced riders can test their skills 7.1 miles. We did the 5 mile Peninsula Trail hike around the Lake which on average takes hikers 2 hours. It was through the secluded woods pretty much the whole way. There are some hills and narrow spots in the trail . The trail does have markers in case you get to a point where your not sure which way to go. Loved it!

Great park with an awesome view of Harris Lake and the nuclear power plant on the other side. Nice 5 mile path through the forest with many stops and benches along the way. Great picnic area with charcoal grills available too. Plenty of shaded parking and a small boat launch and tons of fishing spots.

This is a great place to bring kids and animals alike. They also have an amazing staff that does camps for kids of all ages. They are very involved with the community and has a lot of nature walks and evening walks. The grounds are exceptionally clean. People clean up after themselves and their animals. There are plenty of different hikes to take and there is a very nice playground for young children with slides and swings Etc. I would also like to note that if you send your kids to Camp here, you will be extraordinary really lucky to get Jackie, an assistant director, as one of the counselors. All of the counselors are wonderful but I must note that Jackie goes above and beyond and far out of her way to help with kids that need extra attention even though that is not at all part of their job. I would recommend the camps as well as the park itself to anyone who lives in the area or is visiting. It is a beautiful way to show off our state
