You know a place Is good when they're busy! Everyone standing in line was raving about every menu item, I couldn't go wrong with any choice! They were right. The burnt ends, pulled pork, XL baked potato and mac n cheese was the best bbq we've ever had! The team was so helpful in ordering!

One of the best BBQ joints I’ve been to. My buddy who was with me said his ribs rivaled Texas BBQ. The brisket sandwich was great, as was the sausage and spicy mac n’ cheese.

Can't say enough good things about this place. Always packed out right at opening time so come early.

First off service is excellent. You can't beat a place that has a family ran restaurant, and you can tell they are there to make sure everything is just right for you and they are having a good time while doing so.

We've been a couple times in the last few weeks since they opened up the building right across from Crownline on 37.

The meat is always tender and not dry at all.

The brisket is the go to meat here as it's nicely trimmed with just enough fat on it and a wide smoke ring on the meat.

Burnt ends are excellent but be aware if you haven't had them before, they are sauced liberally so it's like sweet meat candy.

I'm generally not a smoked turkey fan because it tends to be dry but here it was moist, very nice.

The smoked ham was very flavorful too, good quality ham and a nice smoke to it but again not over smoked and dry.

I had an armadillo egg this last visit and I enjoyed it but it's a little too much sausage for me. I understand they need structural integrity so use a fair amount of it but it's a dish to share with a few people, one is enough for 3 or 4 or you get sausage overload.

If you are looking for barbecue and in the area this is the stop you want to make in southern Illinois. There's 3 places in the area that are what I consider to be the quintessential barbecue for the surrounding area, Johnson's in Harrisburg, Starnes in Paducah, and here.

I tried brisket, ham, turkey, and burnt ends. All were very tasty. Loved the bbq sauce. The free samples were a great surprise. I will be back for sure. Everyone was friendly and helpful and looked like they liked their job. Took about 20 minutes to get my food, but they were getting a big order for a wedding ready for the waiting customer. No big deal at all, worth the wait it was sliced fresh in front of me not precut and dry. Everything looked clean and well took of.

I'm just passing through on a long drive to Washington and OMG this food is by far the best BBQ I've ever had. I'm going to have to take a nap after eating before I get back on the road because I could stop

This place! Loved the food! Ribs, chicken, turkey, great sides, and the bread pudding left me speechless! Great service. Very friendly & patient with my ordering, as this was our first time eating here. Still can't believe we've got such an amazing BBQ place right here in WF!

The reviews are right—this is the best BBQ we’ve ever had!! We stopped here on a road trip and ordered pulled pork and brisket sandwiches and all of the sides, and they even gave us samples of their other meats!

The food and service were incredible. If we had to pick favs, it would be the sandwiches (huge), ribs (slapped), mac n’ cheese, baked beans, potato salad, and hot bbq sauce. Don’t sleep on this place! We’ll be back.

Best BBQ in Southern Illinois... by far. I used to live in Alabama where BBQ is a religion and this by far surpasses. The staff and owners treat you like family, and there is NOTHING on the menu that is not amazing. You will NOT regret stopping here.

I'm from San Diego, got family in Thompsonville. Super glad we stopped and picked up some brisket and pulled pork from here, I stuffed myself!
Their bread pudding is to die for, get yourself the big container!

Blazing Trials is the best BBQ this side of interstate 64 and maybe in the whole state. We frequent them often and the food is always fresh and delicious. Ryan, Sydney and the rest of the crew are creating a one of a kind experience, and always working towards bettering the property. We highly recommend Blazing Trails for lunch or by the pound purchase.

We got take-out brisket here for Christmas dinner. Could not beat it. They have the best brisket you'll ever find.

I got an armadillo egg and a ham and cheese 1/3 lb sandwich ate the armadillo egg and I was full very good

We had Blazing Trails cater my 60th birthday party. We got the bq, baked beans, potato salad, and cole slaw. It was amazing! The guests keep saying how great it was. Can't say enough good things about this place and the owner. Highly recommend. Would give it more stars if I could.

Best bbq in southern IL! I drive 45 minutes to pick up the pit master, and we eat for days. Their brisket especially is incredible, and burnt ends have a flavor profile that is out of this world. You won’t regret giving them a shot!

Awesome food and all the staff are extremely nice. Had the Armadillo egg today and was fantastic!

Absolutely love it. Get there as close to opening time as possible. Food is so good they run out!
